  • Is this better than a Fender Stratocaster?
The Sire S7. Is this the best alternative to a Fender Strat? At £500 it's a bit cheaper than the Fender Player Stratocaster series but the fret job on these is far better. Also the Sire S7 pickups stand up against all the high end pickups as we've seen in a previous video, so you don't need to swap the pickups out.
This is the Sire S7 which Larry Carlton was heavily involved in designing. This has a HSS configuration and after taking it apart, they haven't cut costs with the electronics as they're using full size pots, a super switch and resistors all over the place so you get an even tone on the humbuckers and single coils - and that becomes obvious when you play it.
It has a roasted maple neck with a rolled fretboard. It also has some nice extra carves that you don't get on a Fender Strat. This Sire S7 is miles ahead of any Squier Stratocaster and feels and sounds better than most Fender Player stratocasters. The rolled fretboard is something you only normally see on very high end Fenders.

Just got my S7 vintage a few days ago. It took 6 months to get one in. Got it in black. Besides being just a beautiful looking guitar. The craftsmanship is high level ... Especially the neck is outstanding. The pickups are great ... Quiet on mine/Larry Carlton. I really like how responsive the tone knobs are on this guitar. You can get very bright tones and then really round it out when backed off for a lush standard clean jazz tone. . Very wide tone sweep , kind of like a cry baby. I did have to do a basic set up to suit my playing. Truss rod, action. Set the vibrato arm to my liking and pickup height. I love it. Very affordable.

S7 Transparent Blue here! Version 2. Feels much better than a Fender with proper body cuts and pickups and wiring that absolutely work. I could've bought a Fender Pro II for more than twice the price but why? Better build quality and sound for less money, heck yeah I'm in!

So it was the camera that died at the end then. 😆 I've had this guitar for a few weeks now and can confirm.... its still amazing!! 🤘

Yeah, buzz problem here too. Be aware of it when buying. Hopefully the PLEK machine will fix it.

I have seen other reviews as well and have already almost pulled the trigger on getting one of these but I am a rosewood fretboard guy and they seem to only come with maple. If they made one with the toasted maple neck and rosewood (or perhaps one of the alternatives, although nothing feels like rosewood in my opinion) I would be ON IT.

Quality at a very reasonable price. At present this guitar is $800 on sale from $1100 plus taxes in Canada and in some cases delivery is extra also.

I prefer the look of the flame top, and also imo I don't think you should have to do any fretwork if your paying £300+ at the very least, you can get guitars for £130 with amazing fretwork so that is a bit of a shame, awesome reviews thanks guys, might look into these myself

I got a Sire S7 fm and mine is amazing. I don’t have any fret problems. I haven’t been able to put this guitar down. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. From the reviews I’ve seen, most come like mine…without any buzzing or other things. Maybe he got one that slipped through QC…it happens no matter the company or the cost of the guitar. Good luck!

Needs a treble bleed. Hopeless for riding the volume but easily fixed. They seem to vary a bit from the few I tried today. They were all gen 2.
