    Even IF you actually are a victim of unfavorable circumstances, looking at yourself as a victim will only anchor you to whatever situation you're in.

    • @bvdek
      @bvdek Před rokem +67

      It does that by initiating a perception of impotence... being a victim is hard to nullify cos it's 'been done to you' from an external source, but being a fuk up can be improved upon dramatically without anyone else, cos it's up to you. That's how I think of it anyway, psychological judo - taking back power over the situation.

      @@groglorb8980 Some ppl need help to get up, especially if they've been hurt in the fall.
      We as strong men (and women) in a supportive community should provide that help to those who need and want it. That's what's important, is that someone wants to do better with/for themselves and their lives. Nothing wrong with needing support, asking for help, or giving it. In fact, quite the contrary, it shows strength.

This has blinded many people to the truth that responsibility is a gift that nobody can take away from you. It is part of your fundamental autonomy and intrinsically it can never be lost, stolen, or broken. Whatever you choose it is your ability to respond. Embracing responsibility as a gift is integral to healing and discovering your autonomy. Thank you for this relaxed and peaceful video that fits the simplicity of the message well.

And honestly, I had no clue what they were talking about. All I knew is I missed my family, foster care was a nightmare for me, and I wanted an exit...and I couldn't find it. While trapped in a helpless state of existence, all I heard was "stop feeling sorry for yourself and take responsibility". All the while, my environment was extremely rigid, so I didn't really understand what take responsibility meant. What choice did I have in anything? I guess for me it meant suffer quietly and do as your told. I teeter tottered between self destructive behaviors and outright rebellion. I'm doing better today, I know better now, but it was a long treacherous road to healing.

That's how they could manage housewives/hubbys, cos one honest job would feed a family. Greed is outta control, the distribution of capital is way outta whack. Our culture sells us this image of ourselves as hard working honorable ppl, which u clearly are, but it's used as a rose tint on the reality... that is, we are being milked fuking dry in this late stage capitalism bs, because the cats with the resources and capital see the volatility and inevitable change coming - they tryna milk it for as much n as long as they can.
      No man, especially not in the wealthiest country in the world (Aus has highest avg wage per capita btw) should have to work multiple jobs, ontop of already highly skilled, physical and dangerous work like you do, just to feed his family. It's fukn disgusting, and no amount of hollywood fairytale ego-stroking & self-perception washing changes that. Sorry bro, you should be living very comfortably, and it's absolutely NOT a matter of lack of resources, or lack of input on your part. People always see success and say how nice it must be but they don't talk about the 10 or 15 years of suffering in the trenches they were not willing to do to get there. There are and innumerable number of news articles, economic articles out there, and one can find an article that will say whatever one wants to hear. The trick is to read the articles from both sides, and interpret that through one’s own experience and personal knowledge and observations. Anyone who simply forms her opinions based on articles written by an anonymous person is not being wise. To say that I am unread, misinformed, biased and ignorant because I come to a different conclusion based on the evidence that I see than you have come to is not helpful. That is a major difference between the two sides of the aisle. I feel fairly confident that my credibility is still intact, especially seeing that Biden and his administration has publicly, blatantly clearly stated that it is their intention from the start to raise fuel prices in order to drive there green agenda. I grew up basically watching my father let himself go. Unaware of his severe addiction because he manipulated me into thinking he was okay. I've always longed for a proper father son relationship and with him passing when i was 17 I'll now never have it. So many things i was never taught and so much time wasted that i can never get back with him. I used to blame myself even if it didn't make sense but i now realize he didn't love himself to change and take responsibility for his own life.
    It's been the hardest pill to swallow but i can't let what happened destroy me into letting myself go when i have my whole life ahead of me. Now I'm striving to be the man he should've been so i can be there for my future kids and be the best dad i can be.
    I can't tell you how much these videos help people like me please never stop.

    Things are our fault - but thank heaven you were a source of a good family. While what you say is true, it feels like many have been set up to fail, parents are too busy to parent and people are expected to make good choices when people, especially parents (can't speak for everyone, surely) don't care about your mental/emotional health. Hell, they promote your sickness. Then you get out in the world and you can't even focus on a good future due to being so wrecked inside.
    When it comes to student loans, the cost has been rising and rising since they've been offering it. It's a business. Exploitation, in my opinion. While I am responsible for them... Things don't feel that cut and dry.
    Idk, I'm worried that overworking myself is going to put me back into a state of deep unhappiness and maybe I'll start crashing cars again. People are working multiple jobs and make it work. I'm unsure I can handle doing 13+ hrs a day again...
    From someone I've seen some good videos from, I appreciate you. But it's hard to have the right mental state. You're no therapist, I know - but many are mentally/emotionally/spiritually wounded and doing what needs to be done is another stressor on top of trying to meet that baseline of "I am okay." I feel that dealing with personal demolition takes priority over living life in a way... Because if you don't even want to be here, why make those good and right decisions?
    I want to be more of a man in the future. I'm just not sure how I'm supposed to be a real person if I am left to raise myself - like - there's so much wasted time that could have been taken care of decades ago - and I have to seek our my own fundamentals while breaking everything as I go. It is so frustrating just living - having a mentor would make sense... But, the reality is that we have damaged people raising damaged people, which causes a cycle if we aren't careful. I've lost so much time and I still don't know how to live.
