A commenter once said that Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were the great "bromance" of the 20th century and I, for one, cannot find a flaw in that statement.

Was there anyone Peter Cushing didnt work with? He worked with so many huge stars but he himself was the biggest and brightest star of all. There will never again be anyone like The Cush.

And through it all he was so humble.
i wanted to cry when he mentioned his wife you could see he loved her ,so many yrs later/ peter was such a beautiful soul ,not a drop of a big head in him , god he was a STAR and didn't get what he deserved ,but i don't think it mattered, what a treasure/never see his like again 2022 x

I saw a great behind the scenes shot recently from House of the Long Shadows, of the Lees, Cushing and I think an older female cast member. Peter was lightly tapping young Christina Lee on the shoulder, seemingly encouraging her to look at the camera/sit up straight. Very much the uncle. :)

A lovely tribute to Peter Cushing. One of the most under rated British actors. Ridiculous that he did not receive an OBE until he was 76. Lovely comments by Christopher Lee and John Mills. Brings back great memories of all those wonderful Hammer Horror films. A brilliant Sherlock Holmes and his performance in 1984 is captivating. Pure class and a really nice guy.
I am a major pete cushing and chris lee fan...I got his autograph in a book hammer years past forgetting from a friend who lived near to him in Whitstable and I wrote to him thanking him immensely...then he wrote back thanking me for the letter!!!...says it all true gent and still watch hammer films all the time..legend ❤️ hammergazz.

I loved the Peter Cushing movies as a child especially The Curse Of Frankenstein and of course the Dracula movies. Great actor and such a fine gentleman.
The lovely thing too is unlike some other past show buisness stars is that he had no skeletons in his closet. He seems just 100% real, thoughtful and charming and really dedicated to his art.
One of the best english actors. Always love a good Peter Cushing film. I know he missed he wife terribly and it seemed his life wasn't the same without her. A great human being.
Finally managed to sit through the 2nd half of this lovely tribute to Peter. Lots of dust in my eyes throughout the show, makes one’s eyes water, continually. What a wonderful gracious kind talented generous gentle man Peter was. I used to say in the 80s if I ever won the Pools, as was, and you could meet anybody you liked, to be presented with your million pounds cheque, I always said Peter Cushing. I wouldn’t have known what to say, but just to be in his presence would have been amazing. He’s reunited with Helen now, and as at 2024 it’s been thirty years since he fully left this world. Now Peter and Helen are together for eternity ✨ ❤
Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were the best of friends. When Peter died just 4 years after this broadcast, Christopher's family said he was so distraught , he felt a major piece of him died along with Peter. He became withdrawn and was never the same again until his own death in 2015, reuniting the 2 best mates in heaven.
Lee didn't have a brother of his own, and Cushing's older brother supposedly married a woman who really didn't like having an actor in the family, so to me it always seemed like the two actors adopted each other as brothers instead.
For Sir Christopher, losing both Vincent Price AND Peter Cushing within less than a year of each other was a double-whammy.

We grew up watching all those great horror actors and Peter cushing was my favourite of all time what a magnificent actor and a buetifull human being my hero from that era

why did they wait until the poor angel was near his death. What a perfect example of a gentleman, with the emphasis on "gentle". There's certainly nobody like him anymore tragically.
He supposedly said for years that if the show tried to surprise him, he would walk out. 1990 was when the show was talking about doing it and Bernard Broughton (one of Cushing's caretakers) talked the actor into it with the backing of some of Cushing's friends, including Mr. Gray (who we met in the previous part). So basically, he had to fake being surprised.
I so respect Mr cushing very humble.

was working at elstreet when they filmed the prquels as a security guard omg a limo pulls up omg stopped the car asked for id driver showed his but i asked for the back omg it was christopher lee
