I got the 2022 Guardians all wrong, and lo and behold this team made a fool of me once again. This is a rundown of their 2023 season and what went wrong.
We’ve been hearing so much about their farm the last 2 years and we are finally going to get to see them. Like actually let them play, not have a good game and then be benched the next 3 games like Tito did to Bo last year.
@@OverdrivenKatana for sure for sure. The only thing I’m really confused by is having both Straw and Laureano signed on the deals that they’re signed too. I think the FO only re-signed Laureano so they couldn’t be accused of not spending money…
That was a pretty nice video. I think we're going to be better than people think. I remember saying the same thing a couple years ago and people (especially Cle fans) thought I was crazy. We wound up winning 92 games. I don't think they'll reach that number but I'm thinking if Bieber doesn't miss half the season and McKenzie doesn't miss almost the entire season that will help a lot. Not to mention I don't know what was up with Clase and Stephan last year, hopefully they bounce back. In other words, as much as people don't like to say it I think injuries were a huge part of the reason (probably the main part) that they had losing seasons in 2021 and 2023. I almost forgot about the Naylor injury, he and Ramirez are pretty much the offense so him missing a month really hurt.
I honestly don't know what to expect, but if they can get Bieber and McKenzie back and healthy plus all those new guys that showed so much promise this year, they'll have the #1 or #2 staff in the league. The offense though, maybe that can be addressed ASAP
This season is going to be interesting for the Guards - Esteban Florial should be getting more time in CF putting Straw on the bench (and hopefully DFA’d before the end of the year.) watch out for Jonathan Rodriguez, George Valera, and Chase DeLauter too. Open competition at short between Gabriel Arias and Bryan Rocchio and if neither of them work out there are rumors that they may move Gimenez to short and let Juan Brito get time at 2B. I think Tyler Freeman and David Fry look solid as utility guys. Josh Naylor looks poised for a break out year and Manzardo looks good but is probably going to get service time manipulated. Lots and lots of lefty hitters though. Bo Naylor at catcher! Let’s go! Bibee, Williams, and Allen looked so good last year. I hope they just pick up where they left off. Bounce back years for Bieber and McKenzie? Hope the bullpen has a better year than last year.
I don't like to make a judgment for any team before the offseason wheeling and dealing is over. But they still have that young core on offense and with their pitching staff so I would be optimistic
Never know what to expect from the Guardians, but I don't see them having a good year, I'm biased because I'm a Tigers fan but I see 2024 as a fight between the Twins and Tigers for 1st while the Guards fight for 3rd.
@@homerunproductions162 Thats fair honestly, but to me at least the success in 2023 feels really different from 2021, in 2021 it was mostly lucky success through guys like Schoop, Haase, Candelario, Grossman being our best hitters, now it feels like sustainable success with the young guns in Tork, Greene, Carpenter, Meadows, and probably prospects like JHM/Keith all being ready to really compete
It's tough being a Guards fan. I really hope they can rebound this year under the new management
i am right there with you but i think tito managing was vanilla at the end hopefully the vogt era bring great memories our way

@@justintaylor6604 lets hope vogt isn't like that we can be a scary team if we let our young prospects play once they get called up

Plesac is finally bad enough for the Angels' staff
It's the Halo way.
That's almost a sentence.
josh Naylor is a savage. he's one of my favorite players.
I swear the Guardians grow Cy Young candidates in the farm system, to the detriment of EVERYTHING ELSE.
Well Cleveland (Spiders) did actually have Cy Young.

Aye brother, love the content 🔥 keep the grind up fr
Simple ownership is cheap as long as Idiot Dolan is running the team

I dont believe guardians will be as competitive as fans would like i think they need 1 more year to prepn
Rollercoasters and baseball? Sounds good to me! Subscribed
The 2 best things ever
2024 Champs tho don't doubt it
They completely fell apart after Josh Naylor went on the IL because of his oblique strain after he got hurt the offense completely fell apart
Real question is what do you think for CLE thisbyear

Triston McKenzie is Dwight Gooden 2.0 he's going to be the GOAT of pitchers
lol. Better than Nolan Ryan Randy Johnson, Walter Johnson, Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson, etc? 😂
Can’t see him being more dominant than pedro in the steroid era but him and doc have some of the filthiest curveballs I’ve ever seen
@eddieg4437 do you think he will develop a 4th pitch by opening day ?
@@GeeEm1313maybe not better but when all is said and done. He will be in the conversation. Cheer for Trison !🎉😢😊

Tigers fooled me in 2022 coming off that strong 2021. I dont know if i should trust them again

Cleveland still has a baseball team?
Somewhere over there
Yes b*tch we do
You must not watch the MLB playoffs every year, bud.
Stay stupid 👍
Well not a Major League team, they have two TRIPLE AAA teams, one in Columbus and one here in C-Town;-)
Lol you had the Yankees win the AL East? Why?? Even if everybody was healthy, they would have been a Wild Card team at best.
I had the Yankees getting the wildcard last year but advancing to the world series
I got all 7 nfc playoff teams right. Very proud of that.
Go Indians and long live Chief Wahoo.
After the name change, they could move this team to another city for all I care.
