Trailer for The Fitzwilliam Museum's 'Gold of the Great Steppe' exhibition (28 September 2021 - 30 January 2022). Experience life and death in Iron Age Kazakhstan...
We visited this exhibition of the 22nd October and all I can say is that the skill and artistry of these nomadic people is just breathtaking! I would give my eyeteeth to know what sort of tools they used to create the treasures in pure gold and gemstone that we saw. They cut minute shapes in turquoise that would challenge the skill of modern jewellers and hammered gold foil into tissue-like fineness.
Superb exhibition. Fascinating to get a glimpse of this ancient culture that I'd never heard of before. Couldn't believe it was free. Great trailer btw.
Thank you very much for the wonderful exhibition and showing Kazakh treasures to the world!!! ❤️🇰🇿🙏🏼
