  • Step-by-step window installation in my Mercedes Sprinter. Everything that could go wrong with my window installation basically did. I share my mistakes along with tips & tricks to make your installation quick and easy. I'm happy I managed to fit in the window at the end and learned how to use a bunch of tools along the way! And the window is watertight, success!!
    Window:
    Carbest RW-Motion Sliding Window (300x700mm)
    What I used:
    - Angle grinder
    - Jigsaw
    - Metal Jigsaw Blade - amzn.to/2XRILWM
-3 in 1 Primer, paint, rust proterction
    -Painters Tape
    -Metal File
    - Butyl tape / Dekaseal 8936 (I used both because I was installing the window twice)
The hardware comes with the Motion Window order.

I am Sandra. In January 2022 I purchased a 2018 Sprinter Van, Sherpa. I am using my stubbornness and drive to show individuals that they, too, can convert a camper van by themselves and on a budget, with a lot of learning, rolling up the sleeves, and getting to work. With this van build I want to create an adventure vehicle that's going to store all my surfboards, mountain bikes and skis and have some space for my friends to tag along as well in order to pursue the waves, fresh snow and good bike trails.
My want to inspire individuals to pursue their passion and to not be afraid to live a life differently.

I also had lots and lots of trouble installing these RW motion windows..... and the frame.... Now, I try to find out how to install the inside frame with store and fly screen... It's a real headache!

I feel you! This was the first window install for me and the hardest of them all! - Others will be easier :) I made a frame that was too thick at first as well (made it 3cm thick as it says in the instructions, and had to cut it down to 2.5cm to fit it in between the car metal and interior metal frame). The inside frame I had to pre-drill big enough holes otherwise I the screws didn't go in! Hope you manage to install the window fast! :)

Hi, thank you for sharing your video. I am about to build the wooden frame es well and I was wondering about your comment regarding of the thickness of the frame. I was going to use a 3 cm thick one as mentioned as well. Did it just not work in your van because or would you always recommend a frame which is only 2.5 cm thick ?

Helpful video thanks! What did you do with the 8 rubber thingies sticking out of the inner side of the window? Do you happen to know what their function is? I'm about to put in two windows of the same windows for the firsttime as well, uhoww!

Hey Debbie! I'm super happy you found my video helpful! Ha, I was actually wondering the same - what to od with the rubber thingies!? I ended up just throwing them away, didn't seem to matter and the window is watertight so I guess it was an ok decision :D
