For example, when one partner has suggested they break up, the other possibly agreed, but didn't confirm and then doesn't see her for 2 weeks, and then sees someone else - is that cheating? There are many shades of grey in what you might label as cheating because of the situation. Especially when one partner ignores or treats the other partner badly for a long time, but then labels it "cheating" when that partner resorts to a deeply desired affection from someone else (humans need to be loved, it's not something you can dismiss)

When I was young (here in the US), in high school they had a course called Home Ec, which stands for home economics. It's a course many girls would take. Its aim was to teach a young lady things like how to budget, or even how to cook, all of which was aimed at making sure they were adequately prepared to play a necessary role as wife and mother. The problem with it was, there was no focus on teaching a girl what to look for in a husband. So, of course, girls just went for whatever guys were popular, or especially whatever guys paid them the most attention. But perhaps needless to say, only a minor percentage of young guys were persons of character, or were immature. These are the kinds of things that guarantee serious problems in a marriage. Fail rates were very high, and still are. I imagine this is bound to be true in the Philippines as well.

I think casual dating which may or may not include sex in the West is not considered a committed relationship until the couple has the "talk" and decides it is a committed relationship. I know a young filipina that had married a filipino guy a few years ago, they had 3 beautiful kids, They recently split up because the guy was screwing around with another woman and that woman ended with a child because of him, That woman also ended up committing suicide months l8r and the guy had the nerve to ask the filipina wife to take in and take care of the other woman's child. They split up and are in process of divorcing. I helped the filipina find a cheap place to live with her 3 kids. She is the sweetest little thing and feel so sorry for what she is going through. The guy is a loser anyway, drinks too much and doing drugs, has several DUIs and moved in with his Filipina mother and doesn't even work a decent job to pay for his vices so mother is supporting her son by giving him money whenever he asks for it, He isn't even paying any child support for his 3 kids. The guy's 2 younger brothers are in the military and making something of themselves while he is a total bum.

Here in the US, in my life I've known many more women who cheat than men, and it's for two reasons. (1) just for the excitement of something new and different or getting away with it. (2) using sex to climb the social ladder. One women I knew was married 6 times each time the man made more money than the last, and she actually made good money here also over $100,000 a year in a area where the average single income was less than $45,000 a year. And she would complain about being poor. All I could do was laugh in her face and then tell her that she had no idea what poor was. This is one of many examples of what I've seen in my lifetime of 59 years. The men who I have known to cheat were either in a unhappy relationship, or just had no moral standards. Filipino men cheat cause there's no actual penalty. No matter how many women they impregnate no filipino court will ever assign child support on them. If they are married the wife is trapped and really can't get a divorce. The courts favor the men every time. Otherwise the relationships you described are just like over here. But a lot of Filipinos, millions, are trapped in marriages they'd dissolve if divorce wasn't so impossible to get there. All these marriages are already over except the people are trapped by them. Which again favors the men. Filipinas just don't get how abusive their relationships are until they're trapped in one. Then they get it.

that's true love. you love unconditionally and just accept a person for who they are. but being dishonest is a red flag. there is nothing to love about being dishonest. it's a problem when me make excuses for dishonesty too. i mean we CAN view the situation as that she loved you so much that she didn't want to lose you but what that means too is she didn't trust you or the relationship yet. hopefully that trust and commitment is better now that she feels you are more accepting of her than she thought before of you....but still no good excuse to lie...

When a woman cheats it means the guy they really wanted already got away before they settled and married their husband. If she cheats you were never her first choice.
I think if you're going to cheat. Stay single. Why drag someone through that hell. If you can't be a responsible person and commit then don't waste someone time and feeling.
Not saying this is right or wrong. But for us guys sex isn't emotional. We can still cheat and fully love out girl, but for ladies they have to get to a mental place to cheat on their guy. There is no excuse for cheating. None what so ever. If there is a cheater the other should leave. I always did. I didn't ever cheat. I just left. They always tried to come back to me except my ex wife. She remarried so she was stuck in any case.
In America you need to date multiple people at the same time even if you like one more than any of the others because too many games are being played.
If you put all your attention on one person at a time then you are considered too needy and the person you like pulls away from you.

I'm surprised that these young women don't use birth control in relationship with their boyfriend even though they know of many women being left by their boyfriend. Cheating is another matter. The problem in the Philippines is the differential in looks between women and men. Filipino men are average: filipino women are top beauties in the world. What is really going on with the men is akin to how westerners change their car, trade it in for a new model. As their partners get older, some new fresh looking Filipina appears on the scene and the man desires her. In west, not so many good looking women

No, when a woman cheats, it's over. She doesn't respect you anymore and respect is very important for men, more than being loved. You can't fix that anymore and I don't think you should make an effort to do so.
in America, adulatory isn't a crime. Our laws are less religious-based (well a bit more now due to repeal of Roe v. Wade). Polygomy is still a crime here though.

I know a young filipina that had married a filipino guy a few years ago, they had 3 beautiful kids, They recently split up because the guy was screwing around with another woman and that woman ended with a child because of him, That woman also ended up committing suicide months l8r and the guy had the nerve to ask the filipina wife to take in and take care of the other woman's child. They split up and are in process of divorcing. I helped the filipina find a cheap place to live with her 3 kids. She is the sweetest little thing and feel so sorry for what she is going through. The guy is a loser anyway, drinks too much and doing drugs, has several DUIs and moved in with his Filipina mother and doesn't even work a decent job to pay for his vices so mother is supporting her son by giving him money whenever he asks for it, He isn't even paying any child support for his 3 kids. The guy's 2 younger brothers are in the military and making something of themselves while he is a total bum.

Here in the US, in my life I've known many more women who cheat than men, and it's for two reasons.
(1) just for the excitement of something new and different or getting away with it.
(2) using sex to climb the social ladder.
One women I knew was married 6 times each time the man made more money than the last, and she actually made good money here also over $100,000 a year in a area where the average single income was less than $45,000 a year.
And she would complain about being poor.
All I could do was laugh in her face and then tell her that she had no idea what poor was.
This is one of many examples of what I've seen in my lifetime of 59 years.
The men who I have known to cheat were either in a unhappy relationship, or just had no moral standards.

Filipino men cheat cause there's no actual penalty. No matter how many women they impregnate no filipino court will ever assign child support on them. If they are married the wife is trapped and really can't get a divorce. The courts favor the men every time.
Otherwise the relationships you described are just like over here. But a lot of Filipinos, millions, are trapped in marriages they'd dissolve if divorce wasn't so impossible to get there. All these marriages are already over except the people are trapped by them. Which again favors the men. Filipinas just don't get how abusive their relationships are until they're trapped in one. Then they get it.
