intros cool but the first part of the verse is what got me... as a kid i didnt fully grasp it, but as life went on it became more and more significant to me.
I first heard this song in the mid 90s on a Fat comp, didnt really understand the lyrics as a young teen. Now 25+ years later the song is even more relevant, almost scary.
*_lol.. still have a copy of this CD.. SUrvival of the Fattest.. got it at warped tour in 97 i think??_* _..Faaaaaaaaaaaaaak.. ..can't believe its been 20 YEARS~~!!_
'96 actually. Also, I just downloaded it because I couldn't find a copy anywhere. Here's the link for anyone else who wants it: mega.nz/#!J8BmyS7b!H91lrSK8i93ho_eAh5THHvJoCjhO9eSURFCkj-QBJsA
Buying Survival of the Fattest compilation CD in 8th grade for $3.99 in 1998 brought me here......just sayin I wanna hear Diesel Boy now too. And Hi Standard.
still listen to this badassness! mad caddies played the cover at punk rock camp oh 2018. seeing them and pennywise again at scallywag boise 2018. punx not dead
+Brighton Davis (Focustrax91) Used to listen to these guys all the time. Then became a taxpayer. Realized they were full of it. Still cool ass music and catchy, just disagree with them quite a bit now. Oh well.
yeah I used to jam them a lot when I was a kid and didn't work or know much about politics. these guys are really socialists and think everything is owed to them. same with rage against the machine. I still love both bands though.
I've been a tax payer half my life and still think they're right. You're just an uneducated dumbass too stupid to realize the truth of it. Your fault, not theirs. If you don't get it you were never listening to begin with. Read a book, jackass.
One of, if not the best, opening 20 seconds of any song ever.
+Dick Sandwich .... close to it is Golfingers Nothing to prove. you know it?
agreed. awesome vocal intro.
I would put it up there with the opening to "Justified Black Eye" by No Use For A Name

Complicated, Face to Face
The lyrics are probably more timeless than ones in love songs at this point
These lyrics are prophetic.
This song has possibly become even more relevant since the first time I heard it 16 years ago...
Haha same
The whole less talk album has, along with Noam Chomsky and Chris Hedges novels
This month... really. February 2022.

J Jayne hell yeah love this song
Brings me back to my high school days
This year made me sad.
2021, #WallStreetBets, and the ironically named trading platform "Robinhood" brought me here.
I'm nigh on 50. This is one hell of a song, relevant to the last forever!
Cool see people who are just like 15 years older then me like punk good on you!

Diesel boy was one of the most underrated punk bands of the 90’s
Wish they had put this version on the album instead of the really slow strange version, survival of the fattest still kicks ass to this day
Never thought I'd say this but: Canada in a nut shell 2022 ☝️
Awesome. I forgot about this song and how much I loved this band.

They think everything is owned to EVERYBODY
@@chrisgreen6817 they're musicians. They make records and tour. They didn't ask you for a handout. They're also an anarchist band.

Protest the hero brought me here, but it's not my cup of tea.
How ironic and hypocritical
nah. it's not our fault there's no escaping capitalism
i mean it kinda is, but the government kills protesters so we can't do shit until enough people have nothing to lose
Neither irony nor hypocrisy. Unless you think capitalism is essential for art.
