Nice bike. It has 1983 rims on it. I had several GS1100 & the GS1100E from 1980 to 1983 then I had a few GS1150ES with the 1/4 fearing. Solid badass bikes hands down.

Just saw your video on this awesome bike. I had one and sold it in 2006. My brother owned it and left it outside in harsh weather. I rebuilt and repainted it. all my buddies couldn't believe how much power and speed this thing had. Didn't know I had such a gem. Thanks for putting this up.

I can not believe my good fortune in finding a 1982 GS1100 on my local craigslist, the seller did not have his phone number in his ad but I was able to be the first person that reached out and made email contact, it had been up 45 minutes , and we set up a meet. Long story short , it had belonged to his deceased father in law and was last registered in 2012, and had just sat covered with 3 gallons of varnish in the tank, and it needed a good sorting. He sold it to me for $300 and I definitely noted a hint of sellers remorse, It must of had something to do with my jaw dropping. These have become as scarce as hens teeth, not unlike Z1s and KZ900, All of the ones in the world are here and they are not making anymore. The deals are out there and you have to be ready to jump.

I had a similar situation in getting my 83 gs1100GL, not in mint condition with 45k miles but runs like a top and for $900 was welll worth it. I've been riding it every day and plan to buy a back up motor for when the time comes - but I do anticipate another 10 years out of this one.

Sweet bike I've owned 6 of these won so much money on 384 and resiovoir road before they paved it against much new bikes. Went 85k on one weak spots for racing are clutch basket rivets and cranks black motor 1100s fixed it. Love these bikes I used that motor in my 1983 turbo katana

Not joking, roller bearing crankshaft and very well designed top end made to handle the power. Maybe not if you rip on it every day, but if you ride it like any normal person you'll find you're barely using any throttle to get around town with ease.
