If your wondering why gray jacks don't appear in the other games, it's because the chimera have most likely started killing off these ageing creatures due to their ineffectiveness in combat and because their primary role of patrolling chimeran territories was fulfilled by patrol drones.
Real reason is that the model was probably too dated to reuse, or there was an issues with not wanting to pay the freelancer royality for another title. Or it could as simple as it was cut out because they felt it was a superfluous enemy compared to the grims. It could be multiple reasons but personally I think it's because of them not wanting to pay freelance artist again for the same content.
@@mitri5389 If the model was dated they would make a new one, we're talking about insomniac here, no reason why they wouldn't be able to make a new one, especially when they made new models for basically all of the chimera featured in fom.
@@mitri5389 I also highly doubt insomniac hired freelancers to work on the gray jack in any way, shape or form when it's literally just a taller hybrid with some changes. Also if they cut out the gray jack in favour of grims, why did fom have the menials? Those were basically grims gameplay wise and worked well with gray jacks. Also it's basically just lore reasons why they cut out the gray jacks, but I do believe that it could have had something to do with insomniacs dislike of them gameplay wise.

@@mitri5389 If there was any major freelancing, it would have been for concept art, and the concepts that largely influenced the games characters and enemies where made by those at insomniac, any artists not affiliated with the team mainly made concepts that just looked alien and even featured mechs and a ww1 era vibe to some. Those were made really early on, back when the game was referred to as I-8 I believe. These designs didn't really effect anything major, especially anything related with the chimera themselves.
