Man, this guy was nothing short of a complete monster. No remorse, no holding back, just a giant hulking brute with a childish and psychotic view on how life should be lived. Didn't even care about his henchmen, they were too scared of him killing them off if they were too afraid to walk with him into what was pretty much a suicide ride. This theme fits him like a glove; thunderous, scary and with a hint of malice.
To me, Wyald always seemed like a combination of Gregor Clegane, Ramsay Bolton and Rorge from the A Song of Ice and Fire books. Definitely as savage as the previous three but also as petty and stupid, not having the ambition and charisma of the likes of Griffith. With the sheer amount of explicit content around Wyald's character, is it any wonder he was cut from all anime adaptations?
@{Thy Baron Annabelle Lee} During the entire time since I had learned his philosophy I was just waiting to see how he would react to dying since that would basically be last piece of depth to his character. They say that someone’s true character is shown in the face of death and this is a perfect example.
@@WMVKMBN imo no, i prefer wyald but he also is afraidable. Just that mozgus i could see him in govrnement, wyald is someone that enjoys everything, i prefer.
I always had this theory that Wyald was a religious, peaceful guy who lived a long, boring life as a farmer or something, had sex only for the sake of procreation, and detested violence because he was a weakling. He goes through his long boring life without any strife, enjoyment or excitement, has kids, grand kids, great grandkids, and maybe even great-great grandkids because why not, it's medieval times and he's a farmer so they'll never starve. Then one day as he lay on his death bed at the ripe old age of 99, he is overcome with great despair as he realizes he wasted his whole life, missed out on may opportunities, maybe he wanted to be a soldier, or a bandit, as he sobs uncontrollably waiting for the jaws of death to shut down on him with his family by his side, he clutches hard on the only oddity of his life: a stone trinket with a strangely ordered face. The face begin to take shape, and scream a guttural scream that changes the whole environment, and Wyald and his family come face to face with the Guardians of Desire, who offer their chosen son a second chance at life, by offering up his loved ones as a sacrifice. Wyald readily agrees, to the shock and horror of his family, as they are slowly ripped apart by demons as Wyald embraces his new lease on life as a demon monkey, ready to ENJOY AND EXCITE.
Your average apostle transformation is not like the eclipse if you go by what the black swordsman arc shows, apostles only gather for the birth of an godhand member, most apostles kill their sacrifice on their own. So in your story, Wyald would kill his family.
This music is absolutely brilliant. The chorus doing the chanting sounds less and less happy to be there as the track progresses. It's a nice nod to how Wyald's soldiers feel after working with him for a few months.
I love how it has this menacing, yet playful feel to it. Playful, because Wyald's a happy, fun-loving man. Menacing, because his definition of "fun" is murder, torture, rape, and all sorts of other horrific atrocities.
I hope so much that if we get any definitive top quality anime in the future, Wyald's arc won't be skipped this time. To me he makes so much sense in the story since he's basically foreshadowing the upcoming eclipse and showing how pathetic and powerless Griffith was at that time.
This was undeniably the hardest mission in Berserk Musou for a very good reason. I love that the game payed him respect through the mission difficulty alone in the only medium that dared to adapt him. Like, let's be real: he shows up to fight you almost countless times in the mission before transforming to his apostle self. Even if you're level 99, this mission will truly give you a nice run for your money if you aren't already 100% familiar with Musou's controls. This theme also does a great job representing Wyald and his army's ferocity while chasing the hawks. It makes me yearn for a truly awesome adaptation of the Wyald fight.
His endless Eclipse stage is my favorite if only for this theme and because he can beat the shit out of the Stray War Demons while he follows one around.
Wyald must be excited to finally get his spotlight outside the manga.
