I live along the river! Batavia dam is awesome. You could catch some decent walleyes and catfish, along with plenty of bass. Come down and fish!

Plenty of quality smallmouth in this river! And a nice walleye. It seemed like it had a fair amount of water flowing as well which seems unusual for this year. Cool video!
This was recorded in June. The flow was about 30%, I believe. Not very fast at all. Thanks for watching, man!

Paddle tails are pretty good! I make my own and one of the colors I use is bluegill it’s great for fresh and salt water👍 Nice video
I usually just use shad colored paddle tails. Ill have to try some new patterns. Thanks for watching!

Good small mouth below south elgin dam drift to Saint charles I kayak that area for bass

@@EngineeringHooksetsnice, what would you recommend using as bait for walleye? And how far to cast it out(from shore)
@Xanderteeny-id21 I'd recommend the EFH Banshee 3" paddle-tail from engineeringhooksets.com in pink. That's my lure brand, but lots of walleye have been caught on them, including in the Fox (pics on my website). As for where to fish, I would say bring your swimsuit to a public access point (kayak launch) and wade out into the river. The Fox is very shallow in most places, so it's easy to wade. Good luck

what area of the river? i live in dundee and the fishing is always tough on the fox
That's weird, I've heard nothing but great things about the Fox. I said the location in the video, but we took out at Sheridan.
We guide in that region, and also have kayak fishing schools. Holler!

That's gotta be a joke, right? The Fox River is one of the most well known fisheries in Illinois/Wisconsin. There is no secret
@@EngineeringHooksets I have fished the Fox for smallmouth and catfish and carp for 35 years. The last ten years I’ve met folks from all over Chicagoland on the river. It used to be that everyone would stay up by the damns, which was fine with me. Now I see guys stomping, literally stomping through prime smallmouth holes down river. It kills me. I know it’s everybody’s river, but at least use some etiquette. Please pinch your barbs down, be nice to the fish and report poaching. Enough of this old man ranting. Cheers boys!

I thought the scenery was good. Also, my favorite place to fish is Illinois' only national scenic river. Yeah it's got better views than the Fox but the Fox is still nice.
