I lived on the fox river about45 miles north west of Chicago ,where on the river are you?

Glad to see you had a great time. I live 5 minutes from the Fox river and fish it often. The reason why im not too interested in where your at exactly is because the Fox river is so loaded with multi species that It never really matters where I go, I always catch fish. All the creeks that are tributaries to the Fox river are loaded as well. I just wade them in old sneakers and fish the deeper holes. Good luck, nice video.

Would I be better suited to mount my anchor wizard on the bow or stern? I usually fish rivers, might take my kayak on some smaller lakes. I usually try and go up stream so I have the current to help me back to the car when I am done fishing/tired. I like to anchor at a spot for a few minutes/break it down and move up.

Tinnelva in Telemark is the best River for bit trout in Norway. I once saw a young boy hook a 4.5 kilo trount just using a simple worm hook from a river. He had to shout for adult help to get it up.

Medium sized onion lop the ends... skin it til clean & put it in the oil before frying fish. This keeps the oil from burnin' as the onion absorbs the too hot burn. It'll blacken but the oil wont burn or the fish. This is a secret that i pumped out of my favorite Cajun chefess...the Queen of The Universe...none other than mean jillene. My advice on your fluke fishing Especially if the bass are smaller 2.5lbs or less go to a Owner Twist lock lite hook I fish soft plastic flukes rigged weedless and worked as a jerk bait for 90% of my fishing and started out using EWG hooks Had unacceptable degree of missed hook sets and fish getting off once hooked Went to an owner twist lock light hook and my hookup ratio hit 85-90% and rarely if hooked does a fish get off Also I suspect you set your hook fishing soft plastics a bit to quickly my method is first I feel the fish bite then reel up the slack till I feel the load up my on the rod then I make a tight line hook set this has given me a 90% success rate of hooking fish when ever I miss a fish hitting my soft plastics 95% of the time it's because I set the hook to soon and on a slack line Of course if the fish hits like a fully loaded cement truck then I set the hook but a normal hit I do as described sbove Search CZcams on why EWG hooks suck for fishing flukes and you will see why I don't use them anymore

Had me laughing the first half. Those drum were nicer than anything I’ve caught past few weeks! I almost always use a fish gripper. I try to touch them as little as possible. Grippers don’t drop fish and they don’t get banged up. Better for the fish’s health that way.

Warmouth

You’re absolutely right it is very irritating! they’re super easy to identify a Warmouth will have 3 anal spines and rock bass will have 5-7 and warmouth will have 10 dorsal spines and rock bass will have 11-13 and that’s how you separate them from rock bass and to separate them from green sunfish besides not looking similar at all a green sunfish does not have a tooth patch on its tongue, but a Warmouth does, so the quickest way to know it’s a warmouth is if you have three anal spines and a tooth patch. They also hybridize quite frequently with green sunfish when they are together.

This is the Sangamon River. More than likely the lower Sangamon. Runs right by me. I fish that and the Spoon River.

After reading his commentary about not at least identifying the river, it was time to unsubscribe, and stop watching his channel. We have enough secretive "sportsmen" on youtube. Sad, there was some potential here. If you read some of his responses, the attitude towards other outdoors enthusiasts is unnecessary.

I live not even 3 minutes from here. Absolutely love it, I’ve only had luck with the striper on small top water when the water levels are a little low, I’d love to come fish sometime!
