    You made Lens Blur look easy. It does a great job if you look at the image like you showed them. It would have been nice if you would have zoomed in to 100%. You would then see all of the areas that it missed or blurred that should be sharp. Its still not very useful and trying to brush or blur areas that are wrong is a pain.

    With micro four-thirds, the blur tool is a godsend!

    After using the non-Beta version Lens Blur, it still is hit-or-miss with most images, even ones that should be no problem. It seems that most of the time parts of the subject are clipped or blurred needlessly. Your mileage may vary.

    If you mask something in Lightroom and then try generative fill removal it will do it to the base layer and you will be left with a funky spot on the photo where the mask was before. A remedy is go to the masking and open and right click on the ellipsis and check update mask. Now your photo will have the mask and generative fill removal both applied.

    Thanks for these clear explanations. It seems the lens blur gives a bit more depth control as opposed to using the background or subject masks. Any thoughts on lens blur vs masks?

    Is it just my impression or have they made Denoise AI a bit quicker in this release?

    Hi Anthony, I've learned so much from you, and for that I thank you, very nice video as usual, I have a question, What happened to the panel beneath the Region, it was to adjust Highlights, Lights, Darks and shadows< I can't find it anywhere in the latest version

    The focus features can be an amazing feature however on my supped up iMac they lag like hell. I’m wondering if that got fixed in this version.

    I have been using the lens blur for background noise reduction. I asked Adobe to have the depth(blur) mask turned to a grey mask to be used it in the masking section. Whether they will do that I hope because I would use this a lot.

    Thanks for posting. Now they need to fix the map module (The search option is broken. I noticed it with the release of 13.3 and quiet a few folks have noticed it in both Windows and Apple machines).

      @sounderdavis5446 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Agreed. i'm editing travel/trip photos right now, and this new Map bug is really slowing me down. I have to find each location on e.g. Google maps and then find the same location in the LrC map instead of just working in LrC. Really annoying. I'd roll back, but the new Generative AI and Lens Blur features are hard to give up.

      Mercifully Adobe has apparently stamped out this bug of Search not working in Map Module with Lightroom Classic update 13.3.1, now available in the Creative Cloud app.

    They also added "Adaptive: Blur Background" in the presets so you don't have to do anything :)

      Maybe the biggest update for me is the ability to now synchronize this feature.

  • @natepotter6911
    @natepotter6911 Před 2 měsíci

    Fair warning: 13.3 is broken. Did a support call with Adobe and they had to roll me back to 13.2. What happens is if you click on an image in the filmstrip at the bottom of the develop page, it marks the photo as having "multiple adjustments" in the history, and so the image shows edits. I filter be "has edits" all the time, so it was killing my workflow. The Adobe tech told me there are a bunch of issues with 13.3.

  • @goldspike1
    @goldspike1 Před 2 měsíci +1

    When Blur first came out I thought this was a decent feature but 90 % of the time I used it Lr crashed. I stopped using it !!!!!! I have Apple silicone so I'll give it another try.

    13.3 has a major bug-it won’t update metadata changes applied by PS to psd files unless you remove the file from the catalog and then synchronize the folder. I went back to 13.2.

  • @BikeStuffPDX

    What will REALLY help me shorten the time I edit in LR is if it had the PS colorize neural filter

  • @dfinlay587

    I like the lens blur tool, but it is really a dog on my system. In LR, the AI tools perform just fine on my system (Intel i5) since I also have an NVIDIA RTX GPU. Not sure why it runs so slow..

    2:50 real mirror lenses are not cheap and give a distinct bokeh, Desired of not, it is what they do.

    Adobe should admit the obvious and rename "Lightroom" to "Lightroom Lite" (or LIghtroom ME) lol and Classis becomes just "LIghtroom"

    Zooming in to a face would have been helpful. Any free phone app can blur a background, but we need to see how it handles fine edges, otherwise it's completely useless. I mean, the man even lost his arm, how can they take it out of the beta when it's clearly lacking reliability

    Adobe may have added Gen Remove to LrC, but it is horrible compared to what Ps has had for quite a while now. But, the worst NEW stuff in LrC 13.3 is their new sync engine, that doesn't sync. Rumors are the old sync engine was problematic, although I never had any issues with it over the years. But now, it flat doesn't work, and what does move does it so slowly you'd wish you hadn't started it. And when you go to analyze why, all the diagnostics in the LrC sync preferences pane have been removed. Now, you can spend ages generating a nearly useless diagnostic report. Mine was over 60 megs and was of no value at all. In fact, Adobe support people didn't even want it. And now they hit us with their new Terms of Use. It's time to give serious thought to Adobe!

    I disagree with you that 'there is little here'. That blur facility will change lens selection forever. I'll bet that you will eventually see options for every vintage lens worthy of investigating, and people will want one, supersharp lens adding the vintage looks (Leica, for example) in software.
