Mariah's skills are so great that she's cabable to deliver a live version basically undistinguishable from studio version, she just performs slightly different to make understand she is singing and not on playback.

i grew up with this song- the original nilsson version-, it's so important to me and i'm so protective of it. mariah fucking smashed it and made me love it in a totally new way. she's so amazing.

I get tears in my eyes when I watch this performance, it’s so elegant, so emotional, she nailed this performance and I love the raspiness in her voice at the last bit , “no I, no, no I, I can’t live” it’s so simple lyrically and the arrangement is so impactful! This woman has been touching her fans' lives and pouring her heart and soul to her music for more than 25 years already. At least respect that fact. I feel so blessed to have been at that concert! It was my first concert ever and got $20 fan club discounted tickets! Drove from MD on a school day with my parents and sister to see her! It was my favorite concert out of the 5 of Mariah’s I’ve been to. I’m so glad she made a TV special and then home video of it!! So many singers try to sing like Mariah on singing competitions but no one will ever duplicate Mimi! Often imitated, never duplicated!
