Kia, Hyundai, And Tesla Now Being Stolen With GameBoy's đ€Ł Here's How It's Done

- In today's video we talk about and I show you how Hyundai and Kia EV cars and now even Tesla are being stolen this this GameBoy device.
Let me know what you think in the comments and is Kia and Hyundai liable here?
Let's discuss. - Auta a dopravnĂ prostĆedky
Manual transmission is still the best theft deterrent
Why? You think they donât steal manuals đ especially today where they are a dying breed.
@@franklaskus2395 broken into my truck and left everything including the truck⊠The only thing I can figure is that he noticed it was a manual
I solved this problem years ago. I just drive cars that no one wants.
Excellent condition low milage 2006 Ford Taurus, somebody did try and wrecked where the key unlocks the drivers door, so I can only use my fob to unlock, but hey it's still my car to this day LOL
or a stick shiftđ€Ł
@@motormaker Someone wants a Kia???
đ
@@motormaker like 2014 Camry
Who'd a thought doing away with physical keys would make cars easier to steal lol
Makes you want to own an old car with a key.
Makes me hope my 90s truck lasts till I'm too old to drive, LOL
Yup. Glad my 19 Tacoma still has a key.
I own a 2006 Ford Taurus, the closest they got was wrecking where the key goes in, and trying to pry the door handle out, but hey who want's to steal an 06 Taurus LOL. Where I live the folks with newer cars put on two steel wheel boots and and steering lock bar. So if they want to go out of the way bypassing the starting stuff they need to cut off 3 steel locks, so good move on these folks to keep their cars.
They'd just hot wire it bro đđđ
Those are even easier to steal!
Especially a manual transmission old car
The whole world ran better on paper and pencil.
With the Tesla, you can also have a PIN number that you enter on the screen for double authentication.
Using the PIN to drive feature will pretty much eliminate the theft threat for a Tesla.
There's ways around it. How you think shops work on them
Automakers are putting this info and tech on the streets. No random person isnât coming up with this technology out of no where. They want our cars to be taken.
You got itđ
@@partee1986 exactly my thoughts
I absolutely would never buy a 60k that can be stolen by a15 year old in twenty seconds .Iâm convinced manufacturers are allowing this to increase profits.
Don't know why but I see manual transmissions making a comeback. đ
Install a hidden battery disconnect switch.
New cars have many computers that lose their memory
Yep a kill switch
If Iâm an insurance company I would cancel all these cars until these problems are resolved .This has been now going on for years .If in possession of these devices should be mandatory two years above sentance..No excuses for any-of these car manufacturers for allowing this nonsense. My 2001 BMW could not be stolen unless you have the actual key..Car manufacturers have devolved and should be held responsible. One other problem is car theft is treated as a victimless crime.Car theft needs to be treated as armed Robery .
My buddy who was a police officer back in the eighties through the early two thousands, said GM should have been sued into bankruptcy over the cheap column ignition locks they used in the late sixties through the eighties.
Now fast forward 25-30 years it's an anti-theft device đ
In the 90s Fords locking mechanism wouldn't lock the keylock cylinder and you could just start them without a key. They saved on replacing columns that way đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Honestly this is getting crazy how easy it is to steal some cars.
Well i mean in hyundai/kias case they all suck regular keys and now this.
Iâve got a steering wheel lock on my 2022 Soul. PIA but every time I park it.
It's at least a deterrent, but criminals will cut the steering wheel and pull off the wheel lock in a few seconds in some cases.
Grant used to make a steering wheel lock kit that allowed you to remove the steering wheel and bring it in the house with you. Had one on an old musclecar years ago, no one f'ed with it.
Kia Soul ,FrankensteinÂŽs carđ
I have a 2015 Elantra 1.8L, with the ignition recall completed. I use The Club on my steering wheel.
I could see people who have older vehicles that are reliable ,appreciating them a lot more and just fixing them up now !!!
Go to any mechanic shop in your neighborhood and they will tell you that's what's happening!
My car was one of the most stolen cars in the 80s and 90s, but it's too much trouble these days lmao
That's why I steering lock all my cars, I don't care how new they are.
The Chrysler Keyless-Go on my Mercedes broke last year, I am safe now đ
Cars are more expensive to buy/lease and easier to steal.
Just a short while ago Mopars had the dishonor of being theft magnets but now all car brands are equal targets.
Fun Fact: if a thief breaks their ankle over a trip hazard in your yard while snooping around your cars, you can be sued
These companies just want your money
Push button start was a step backwards. What happened to the steering colum lock ? It was another step to steal.
I watched the Channel 5 on the Kia Boys and it literally takes them 30 seconds and a phone to steal a Kia. They said they sell them for $100 each after they are done joyriding.
Kia and hyundai try so hard to be innovative, but canât figure out how to stop their cars from getting stolen by 12 year olds đ
Sue the MANUFACTURER. They are inviting this theft!! Insurance companies should sue the MANUFACTURER.
Use a club and a lock to the brake pedal and steering wheel. Defense in-depth. Along with boxing it in.
These electronic remote keys are a real problem. Not only does it make it easier to steal your car, it makes replacement keys extremely expensive. As these cars get older, and the electronics starts to fail your only choice is spending a LOT to have a dealer install a new one (and just too bad if the parts are no longer supported--junkyard parts won't work)
My old Jeep has hidden kill switch which prevents power to the engine. Someone would need to spend a lot of time tracking down the wires.
its a tool called a flipper.. These are devices used in embedded device development. They are essentially radio signal emulators. they can record the fob's id broadcast. then replay it.
There are ways to protect your car though. Don't broadcast from across the parking lot to open or lock your doors. Use the touch presence to open and lock the doors.
The manufactures chose to use a old fob tech that doesn't encrypt the calls with rolling keys. This is the manufactures fault. They make keys with secure tokens. car makers are too cheap to offer it.
Itâs just stupid how easy it is anymore. Car manufacturers are doing it to themselves with all the modules that they cram into their cars. Like you said though, in the end, itâs great for the car manufacturers because if an insurance company is going to write off a car thatâs stolen and the insured party is going to be cut a check, thereâs already sales people waiting in line rubbing their hands together just waiting for their next commission payment.
Which car is stolen faster? Hyundai/Kia or Dodge/Chrysler?
Iâve seen Dodge Chargers hacked and stolen in seconds.
Thanks for the education. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers
Still have my Club steering wheel lock, cheap protection, won't stop thieves but will certainly slow them down.
My Chrysler 300C SRT is in the garage, with a 30 yr old Suburban parked outside the garage right behind it. In AZ, just about everyone carries a firearm.
Be vigilant and thanks for the info!
Is it only the Ioniq5 that is susceptible, or all of Hyundaiâs EVs? I would presume the Kona EV has the same issue.
There are these things called Faraday boxes, the also have bags you can put your key fob inside of. These cut off all communications between the fob and the car. I have a story about how useful they are , if you're interested.
Did you watch the video? Because he mentioned that it doesnât need the key fob to work and those boxes are basically useless now! The new hacks can pick up the signal through other methods.đ€Šââïž
Did you watch the video?

With today's vehicles it is unfortunately a necessity, but removes the entire idea of the magical convenience of a "keyless entry system." My push button remote on the key of my older car is more secure and convenient, and someone would have to be in my vicinity to capture the signal when I happen to be doing it in order to get the code.....and they would have to be able to drive a stick. With the keyless FOBs, they can walk up to the front door of a house where so many people hang their keys and get the signal as long as the vehicle is in the driveway. That way they know the key is near the door, many times. keep mine in my pocket.
Besides all the data that today's cars collect on you, and then the manufacturer collects it over the air whenever they want, sells it and makes money on you, and your insurance can end up being raised, this is why I keep my older car. Besides, I've never been one who needs the "latest thing." For the most security and privacy, you may want to look into getting an older car that was well cared for.
@@laekeepeepee Did you watch the whole video? Some cars it doesn't matter. đą
Definitely looks like my old Gameboy advance đđ
I'm thinking it's not a Gameboy but an emulator running a Linux port.
Great information!
I have two Apple AirTags hidden in my EV, full insurance & Hyundai Bluelink on my phone/watch. I hope my car is never stolen but if it is, Iâll be somewhat ready
Blame the makers of the internet that left those doors open⊠they know who, and where they are⊠thieves are all of the same feathersâŠ.
It pays to find the fuse to the fuel pump relay so you can pull it so there won't be any fuel pressure. Cars now days are electric fuel systems and can be disabled if you know what to do under the hood.
Gotta catch em all đ€·ââïž
Interesting. I own a '22 KTM motorcycle with keyless start. There is an anti-theft mode (Anti Relay Attack) that can be set as an extra layer of security. The motorcycle will not start unless you have the key near the motorcycle. Guess a key could be cloned, but Ive never heard of a KTM being stolen this way.
So is this Only the electric hyundai kia teslas? Or any of them with the push button starter?
The better manufacturers make it where if you don't move key fob it has a sensor it turn off the wireless signal. Some you have to push the unlock button and start within a couple minutes, or dash tell you to detect key fob.
I shock Kia and Stellantis hasn't done this yet? Like you stated, likely on purpose.
while im over here struggling to even get to the immobilizers every time i get the ecu kit lmao XD i do automotive dismantling hella interesting i work with Hyundai and kia
Bring back the TV show "Bait Car".
They'll be cancelled in one week for being "racist"
Racist, same with cop shows.. đ
Technology is the stupidest thing .
đ and youâre using it right now
Also cars that are easy to steel always become popular. We have seen it with honda and dodge
Its all about driving up sales
You need to disable the external antenna...
Wow man, this is getting really high tech bro
This is why I decided not to get an Ioniq 5.
Btw itâs pronounced as HIGH-YUN-DAY.
Kia/Hyundai security is 20 years out of date.
Install remote control fuel shut off or ignition coil shut off. Very simple solution because they want to be in and out in 3 seconds and will not open hood or trunk to figure out how to bypass or see how they can bypass
I heard of a guy who used an Apple Airtag to help recover his stolen truck.
I'm amazed at the engineering and software development that are behind the slim balls stealing the cars. These engineers are smart and know the code running on the car's computers inside and out, the trick for LE is to find the guys/gals behind the devices, the punks using them are trivial in the grand scheme of things.
What happened to the good ol key ? Simpler is better, if it ainât broke donât fix it.
Haven't seen you make a video on Toyota. Are they hard to steal?
If you think that's bad, wait until hackers crack into the actual cars and threaten individuals/families, or if a car company gets hacked and the entire brand goes dark one day. Even worse, during a conflict those cars are hacked and weaponized, like little remote controlled battery bombs. People are so tech addicted that they fail to consider the ramifications (aee social networking for another example).
You need to find a convenient way to disarm the car battery, without power the thieves are beat.
But NASTF going save us all đ
bonnie and clyde were stealing Fords without any game boys or high tech.đ€Ł
Aprilla motorcycles used Gameboys as their scan tool.
I have a 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback with a FOB that DOES NOT emit and signal. I have to push a button to make it work, so this device will not capture it's signal in the way it does for cars that have a FOB that CONSTANTLY emits a signal. On top of this, the transmission in my Focus is a MANUAL TRANSMISSION. Anyone able to steal the car is likely not able to drive it. Also, these cars are not high on the stealing list. My wife's car has a FOB that DOES EMIT a constant signal, but it is a 2013 Ford C-Max plug-in hybrid. LOL, nobody wants this car, even though the car has been great for us.
I mention other day about recall on those 3 now those 3 stolen yeow
Who can afford a game boy?
Most ppl don't know that all the computer chips in a car are 90s computers chips so if u know old computers and new then u know how easy computers are hacked
@@micahclark4021 rubbish
pin to drive wold solve the problem
I can barely hear you your music is 3 times louder than the talk
Time to buy a gameboy lol comes with a free car lol great for traveling lol đ j/k
Come on now I love your videos donât get me wrong, But why use Tesla in the title when this is not happening with Teslas & other EVs are NOT TESLA đ€đđ·đ€§đŻ
Well.... Actually this is working with cyber trucks. Video dropping on this tomorrow. I mention this in the video ................
These devices cost bands
How are you doing
Homemade Flipper Zero.
The more tech they put into cars the easier it is to hack basically they are turning them into computers with wheels đđđ Also some cars all you need is the vin number then set up the signal and Baaam there goes the car
You can interrupt a single wire with a switch on every make and model to disable ignition. Nobody can drive a car away that doesn't start.
Just buy a manual transmission car
I drive lyft and Uber. I highly suggest any driver buy a Faraday bag large enough to hold a phone. I had someone leave their phone in my car and actually found where I lived...scary. I bought the bag so while working if I find it, I drop it in there and 0 signal tracking. They'll have to use the service to contact me. I don't want another driver getting the same thing.
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Really.. lol say it so
Agree with you Iâm sure Kia engineers are smarter than a common thief but itâs a good money maker. The government should make them recall junk like that
Not enough to offset potential lost "initial" sales .
They more than likely are but KIA (and other makers) is cutting cost where they can and this is one area. I mean once they sell the car they have their money so what's the difference.
