The problem with graffiti in Italy is that most cities, in particular in the historical downtown, are beautiful. They were built at the measure of man, and the materials are pleasant like marble, stone, and stucco. They are not grey boxes made of cement. They are often colorful with pastel tones, and they have architectural details and other things to make them beautiful. The graffiti do not add color or make things lively at all, instead because they are a chaotic mess, often done by people with no real artistic talent, mostly done to represent some form of anger or rebellion or emptiness they simply make things uglier and unpleasant. They are completely out of place. Plus they are an imposition, if I ever met one of these vandals (they are not artists) I would ask them if they would do the same crap on their car or inside their apartment. I bet most of them would say no if they were honest, so they are cowards and bullies, they are imposing something on others in a public space. Imagine if somebody was on a corner of the street with a megaphone screaming 24/7, they would be arrested. This is not different at all.

These graffit are garbage, they do not add anything other than chaos and unpleasantness. Not sure why the authorities do not do anything about this.
