    "IBS is very special for each person", thank you, that made me feel special now hehe Thank you for sharing your IBS issues. I am still trying to figure out what kind of Low FoodMap I can't and I cannot eat. You have a point, foods that trigger your IBS might not trigger others. Thank you for your sense of humor and honesty.

    I really appreciate your videos. I’ve been in so much abdominal pain since July, with no idea why. I’ve always had an iron stomach. I have a GI doc appt in January but in the meantime I’ve been avoiding high fodmap foods and it has helped. These videos help 😊

    Thank you for these videos. I didn’t have IBS until I reached 24, and I went through some medication and endoscopy. I really hate endoscopy cuz I’m so worried that I might have tumor in my intestine and that spikes my stress level, then eventually my IBS get worse.
    I’m going to do my second round of endoscopy since it’s already two years and half from the last one. I would panic if I learn that there’s nothing can help but medication. Thankfully, I came across the Low Fodmap diet and your videos give me a lot of faith too!

    New Subscriber.. like you I have IBS and also blessed with “both”. I very much enjoy these videos as I’m just learning how to cook low FodMap. I also was a dancer with hamstring issues that caused me to retire as well. Sadly low activity has brought with it weight gain, so I’m on a new journey and slowly incorporating daily exercise. Now to work on the “stress”.. a very necessary step I am told by my specialist. I have several new ideas thanks to your videos, thank you!

      They’re from a little bit of everywhere! I tend to just find recipes I’m interested in and then either adjust them (if they ask for garlic, I use garlic oil instead) but the ones I used in the video can be found in the description box. Rachel Paul’s website in particular caters to low FODMAP recipes and she had hundreds and hundreds on there-you’re sure to find something you like!

    Thank you for the video, are you sure you're not a Doctor? 😂 It would be great to see some of your "on the go" recipes for when you don't have much time to cook more "complex" meals. Cereal, Toast toppings, meal prep frozen meals etc. My biggest struggle is lunch... I literally end up taking sourdough sandwiches with mayo, spinach, tomato, cucumber, cheese and sometimes turkey to the office with me 5 days a week.. These are pretty good but I'm really tired of them. I also like to make brown rice with chopped Tilapia, zucchini and shredded carrots stir fried in some garlic infused olive oil, black pepper and a splash of soy sauce, but I'm really bad a finding the time to make this the night before... I also don't to be the guy microwaving fish in the office. Anyways, thanks again for the video, keep up the great work.

      This is a great idea! Your meals sound delish but you are right, eating the same thing week after week can get tiring. I will do some brainstorming and think about my favourite on-the-go recipes, thanks for this suggestion! 😀

  • @NancyW82
    @NancyW82 Pƙed 2 lety

    I'm not a doctor either, but have you ever heard of autoimmune atrophic gastritis? I have had horrible stomach issues since I was 15 shortly after I had my gallbladder removed (I'm 39 now) and every single doctor I saw told me I either had IBS-C, I am allergic to this that or the other, or this is just my stomach now and here take this pill. A couple of years ago my primary care realized I was iron deficiency animic and my B-12 was very low. Then a couple of months ago I was finally able to start seeing this new gastroenterologist at the University of Michigan, and he actually listened to everything that had been going on with me forever. He started me on a medication that gives me the ability to actually eat food outside of my home, which is amazing! And scheduled a upper and lower scope. After they biopsied several different spots, they realized that I have autoimmune atrophic gastritis. There is also a form of atrophic gastritis that is chronic but caused by a pylori infection and once the infection is treated sometimes can be cured. I do not have a pylori infection and further blood test showed that mine is autoimmune. Which was expected because I have two other autoimmune conditions. I'm currently waiting on an appointment with a UofM dietitian to start a low FODMAP diet. One of the symptoms of AAG is iron deficiency and low B-12. It is important that it is discovered because people who suffer from the autoimmune form of it have a higher risk of developing gastric cancer at some point in their lives. It's not a 100% chance but it's a greater chance and now I have to be scoped once a year just to keep an eye on things. If it's something your doctor has never explored with you or you've never been scoped it might be with a conversation, since you are both iron and B-12 low. Again, not a doctor, just my personal experience.

    • @Leanntelope
      @Leanntelope  Pƙed 2 lety

      Hi Arnold, for most people with IBS, baked beans are considered high FODMAP and will cause digestive upset. I would suggest you check out the link in the description box from the Dieticians of Canada, they have a comprehensive list of what can be eaten/avoided!

    I Love PB it can bother me too at times if I eat too much of it. Some of them have Molasses and that is one of the FOBMAP no's. Everyone is different. I think it depends on the person what bothers your stomach. I have to take B 12 too and I didn't think IBS had anything to do with that. Make sense. I've had IBS for years.
