Amazing video btw!
Looking cute btw!
New Sub btw!
Fiber GT this is awesome advice! you’re dope thank you SO MUCH for your support!
I'm studying Cybersecurity in college now and running across your TikTok account was a stroke of great luck. My current InfoSec class uses Kali for labs so this video is super useful for me to try and play around a bit more and reinforce my studies. Keep up the great work! 💚💜💙
This is awesome!! I've watched SEVERAL different tech people on CZcams (all guys), and you are the least confusing and most sensible person I've ever seen. You went through the information really quickly (I only know scant command line), but I still was able to follow you. Very, very well done!
Your TikToks have been a mixture of terrifying and fascinating. I'm in the middle of a career change and you've got me really interested in learning more about programming and cyber-security. Thanks for the info and resources!
Thank you so much! I had followed other tutorials and haven’t been able to correctly configure persistence until doing it the way you show here
I've been waiting for this Video!
First stumbled upon you on tiktok, and even though this was definitely a novice tutorial I'm definitely going to follow you cuz some of your stuff is amazing.
keep up the good work and spreading accurate information, more importantly introducing new people to this wonderful world of it sec
thank you my goodness I've looked forever for a good video :) cheers
Thanks for doing this. Very clear and straightforward. Cheers
shamroc34 so glad you found it helpful dude!
This is the best video of this kind. I've tried like 4 others and they're so unclear. Thanks for this, girl!
Awesome 👏 Helpful tutorial!
This video was very helpfull to me because previously...i had dowloaded the kali linux installer and i was wonderingbwhyvit couldnt install thanks so much....i have subscribed ✊
Thanks for the video! Show us how to use some of these tools next!
I do like how it has becoming more polished over the years. Could use it as a regular desktop environment if you want with the benefits of having all the tools right out of the gate. Rufus is my favorite.
WSL2 is super effective. just got hired recently as a pentester and it’s hella handy. i still have a junker with the latest version of kali though, just for kicks.
just as important when learning hacking is to get to know the windows command line... powershell, lolbas etc. im guessing ill see a video from you about that someday as well, though!
thanks for the video, im looking to get in to pentesting
Love it! Keep it up!!
Thanks, I'm nearly sixty years old man, and I'm taking a cybersecurity online. listening to you explain stuff is truly a Godsend. You have help me a lot.I really appreciate it a lot Thank you!!!
dude ur old, good on you for keeping up with times
🤯🤑 your brain is gorgeous AF! Thanks for your videos. I understand about 10-20% of most of them but I know you grow my brain, anyway! 😍🥰😍🥰
great video!! You should do one with the Kali Live and fixing the wifi problem. for those who don't have a hard line to there laptops. I don't know if it is the same way for apple, but I'm running windows. thaqnk you for all your videos love them keep it up. and thqank you for all you do for us newbies.
Thanks for making your videos easy to understand and straight to the point. What is the title and artist of the song you used in the end of this video?
Love your videos,
I tried sending you a pm at one point but I got it figured out myself, I actually subscribed to The Cyber Mentor. Much like you he teaches about Pentesting, you should look him up he has wonderful resources as well.
Love your videos on TikTok ended up here! Is doing the encypted persistance worth the work?
And this second comment is because this was a dope ass video.
Maybe you can make a video about some of the more common bash commands and arguments?
Hi rey! I was wondering what your opinion is on password managers. In your amazon security video you mentioned minimizing single point vulnerabilities. If you store all your passwords in a password manager, won’t you be putting all your keys to your kingdom and 1 location?
Hey!, you should make a video on TAILS, talk about its uses and all, heh, it may even be actually useful for someone to learn about it.
Nice video, keep it up! (:
Na
I find this helpful I’m getting a MacBook for Christmas and I want to become a ethical hacker and I used windows for so long and I’m gonna use my Mac for school to
nano for viewing a one line file? That's what cat is for. Also, nano? You gotta get comfortable with vi and/or vim. Love the videos though. Keep them coming!
If you have xcfe version instead of the gnome, run command kali-undercover
You Rock ❤️
what's your preferred Desktop Environment? also will there be another Q&A on discord soon? that was awesome
so random question, if the testdir isnt there on reboot what couldve went wrong
So if I do this I can regularly boot windows or this when it’s plugged in?
Thank you for the video! But I have a question to anyone who knows. If its persistence is the storage would be the computers HD, or will all the changes be saved on the USB? Thank you
Are wireless access points automatically recognised or do I need to have a wireless adapter with a kali driver as well?
P.S. If you teach a course on Linux command line, I'd definitely sign up! In the mean time, do you have any recommendations for best resources for learning it? I've listened to several people, all of whom have gone into great detail (again, all men), but I always feel like I'm not really getting the flow or true use of it with respect to daily use. You make the most sense of anyone. Thanks!
This vid is so good. Was waiting for it for so long . I am having trouble with unmounting it. It says no mount point specified ..what should i do?
i hv a 3 gb ram laptop.
is thr any way to turn it into a stronger one to use kali for ethical hack purposes ?
for eg with the usb ?
You may already have a video on this but I'm trying to learn how to checksum on linux, win, and android. I want to download these cool tools but not expose myself to viruses when I do! Any tips?
what’s the best language to learn for cyber security
I have a question if anybody wants to help me out. When I do “sudo fdisk -l” the only 2 drives that pop up are my computer drive and “dev/loop0” so where is the drive?? Is the drive the loop0??? Anybody please help me out. Thankyou so much
Is there such a thing as a bad etch? Disk utility says my usb is not bootable and it won’t recognize my usb drive. Did you have to change any settings for the MacBook?
can you help me pls
I installed the version kali linux 2020.4 live persistent successfully on USB 64Bit and it works well with me, but I find a problem that is when I work for 10 minutes the system freezes and does not work so I have to turn off the device and turn it on again - what caused the problem ??
For some reason i created the new directories and the persistence.conf file yet if i make the testdirectory and the test.txt it doesnt save when i reboot can somebody explain me how and why this happens?
Help! I follow the instructions, go through the flashing part and then when I reboot, select the USB drive, and continue then I come to a screen ‘Unable to verify startup disk’
Hey how come when I echo “/ union” > /mnt/myusb/persistence.conf i get a zsh permission denied?
can you apt update and apt full-upgrade with this persistence?
hey can you make a tutorial for how to install it in VM
Note that if you are using persistence in Kali and it isn't designated as the Kali machine only another Live Boot of Ubuntu will reset your persistence for it's own use, thus loosing all your Kali changes:) So when you mentioned the multi boot option I think it is also important to mention this:) Also worth mentioning is that White hatting and Black Hat Hackers aren't good guys vs bad guys. It's more of Blue team vs Red team, where as the blue team or white hats do have the specs. Ie. software versions, patch info, etc... Black Hats are the guys who don't have any information given to them regarding the specifications of the target. This causes Black Hats to get a bad name because "threat actors" function in much the same way. Black Hat Hackers Penetration Test with consent all the time:)
My touchpad, my keyboard doesn’t work and my Wifi is disabled when I try using kali on an bootable USB do you have a fix for that?
nothing to do with the amazing video's content but:
love your makeup
how do you connect that usb kali to the internet?
Do you think it’s worth it to have have berry boot on a Raspberry Pi and add kali Linux so you can have multiple OS instead of one?
a lot of newer windows computers with EFI instead of bios i've been seeing delete / f10 for the bios settings. tho honestly i'm hoping anyone booting up kali or intending too would be able to figure this out.
Heyyy thanks. I have finished my oscp but was wondering if getting a bachelors in CyberSecurity is good idea. What do you think? I honestly feel like the CyberSecurity bachelors doesn’t go into much detail about pentesting and that I probably wouldn’t gain much more knowledge from it. Let me know what you think
No. OSCP is 10000x more useful than any university degree in this industry. Move to OSWE or higher certifications if you’re looking to head up the chain!
@@101Potatoproductions yep that’s exactly what I thought! Have you passed your oscp?
@@younesmohssen8158 Will be sitting mine in a few weeks. :)
Did you run into kali not being able to pick up wifi networks?? I’m on a Mac and made my external hard drive bootable for Kali. I still can’t figure out why it won’t pick up wifi networks. Also, does it have to be on a usb drive instead of a hard disk drive?
The persistence works for me but I get sent to the boot menu every time I restart is this normal
Im getti g a no mount point specified prompt after umount and reboot can u help
Im getting the same
Real one!!!!
I cant open it. I did everything even used balena etcher but cant open kali linux. I power off my laptop and press f8 and nothing happens. My usb also says i need to format it before use??? please help me.
Does this work for the newest MacBook pro?
Okay but what do I do if my test Director isn’t saved?
How much gb should I get for the usb drive?
Mine doesnt save the testdir even tho I can see a persistence file on my Home Screen
Kali keeps telling me that all primary space is in use when I try to partition the disk. Does this mean I have to re-etch it on the the flash drive? I'm only mildly stressed cause I'm on 9 hours of trying to make this not janky as shit.
Lol, you pulled a math prof at the end. Left it as an exercise for the students
When I try to create the file system (mkfs.ext4 -L persistence /dev/sdb1) it's telling me that there is a vfat file system labelled "KALI LIVE". But if I proceed anyway it's telling me that /dev/sdb1 is mounted and it cannot make a file system. What does that mean and how can I fix that?
Awesome Videos btw😍
What is a reccomended storage size on the USB drive?
8 gigs or more
I remember for backtrack needing an extra wifi dongle because it couldn't do packet injection with the laptops chipset. Is that still typical?
J B these days it grabs your hardware!
Yes, you still need an external usb WiFi interface with a chipset that does monitor mode/packet injection like the Realtek and Atheros stuff.
Do you ever participate in CTFs?
I clicked USB Encrypted Persistence but I cannot connect to the Internet, please do help!
Wow where have you been all my life 💜💜❤️❤️
Dear I need your help in retrieve old gmails permanently deleted two yrs ago. Please help me
I'm having a problem and don't know where to search for a fix. I tried Google to no avail. Yesterday my kali linux was connecting to wifi and I was able to use the internet, but today it won't connect at all. My ssid shows up but it just keeps loading like it's trying to connect but never does. Can anyone help with this? It was working fine yesterday. The only thing I did different was I didn't fully shut down my computer because I was wanting to complete a room in tryhackme. Please help
I’m doing this off a windows based laptop and I’m running into formatting problems where after flash is complete with balena it tells me I need to format the drive after flash!! Can you help plz
I've got the same problem
Bananfizk3n
I used Rufus instead and it worked but I had to download 2 other files for it to flash.
not working for me, im getting the error "the file /dev/sda3 does not exits and no size was specified" even though fdisk -l shows it /dev/sda3...
Format it with Gparted
I tried installing Pop OS from a flash drive because I want to learn more about Linux systems and accidentally deleted everything on the pc...I have not been able to find a solution to restore the PC and cannot get Pop OS to install. Any advice?
LMFAO i did the same thing years ago. they always tell you to backup your data. did you do the right steps to install Pop OS? i would suggest using ubuntu as a start off linux.
Could I still do this with a flash drive I already used to install windows on my Mac with bootcamp
yes ofcourse, you can just use rufus (or another etcher) over and over
@@jorenvangoethem343 ok so I followed the instructions in the video to a t, however, when I reboot into another OS and then back into kali, the password gets changed back to kali and not what I changed it to. Did I mess something up?
I'm not sure, i have kali as dual boot so i never used a persistent live kali, try googling it :p
any chance you have a discord? i followed all the steps through the entire installation, and went through the persistence check. i load up the testdir, create the file and when i reboot, it is back to square one. any help with a troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Same does anyone have a fix?
@@nedbred530I found the issue with mine... When you're mounting the directory myusb, make sure you have a space between the "/" and "union" so it should look like this: echo "/ union"....
When I try to I mount the patrician it says command unmount not found
someone else had this issue! the command is umount not unmount, so without the n! sorry if it's too small!
Heyoooo! Found you!
Cool video but i would go for Tails or Debian and download only the tools i need
please work on you audio levels i have to turn my system up so loud to hear this on pc.
first girl i've seen making a linux video
I really want to play with this, but it won’t connect to my wifi. Anyone have a fix? I went in settings, tried commands to download drivers, but nothing is working. And my MacBook Air doesn’t have an Ethernet cable port. 🙃
Having the same dramas here mate, if you find a solutions please do tell!
From tictok👍
Any certain USB drive??? or would any work? im very new to this
any will work you just have to make sure it is 8 gigs or more and that you make it into a bootable drive. also you can also dual boot linux and windows
good, you can break a wpa2 network with the stick in Kali Linux
i am doing everything that you say and putting the command lines in word for word but when i try to unmount before the restart it says -bash: unmount: command not found
bruhcooperbruh the command is ‘umount’ so without the ‘n’ after the u! sorry if it was too small to see!!
@@rey_nbows OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH i couldnt find anything to help and thought i was tripping balls lol
bruhcooperbruh bahaha dude you’re so fine i’ve done similar stuff SO many times 😂
rey nbows thanks and congrats on the success on tik tok i had seen one of your vids when you were at like 20k and accidentally pressed not interested trying to favorite
I like the dd command to flash my styff. :0
Hey i lost my usb stick at school is their a way to track it down
lol no
cool
why does it say partition table
Hello mate cracking video I’ve followed the steps however when I reboot after the “foo bar” the file it’s not there. I have done the .config part a few times over but seem to have the same problem over and over again
Sergio White hmm you’re booting to persistent before you try to save anything, yeah? and then again to check if it’s still there? that’s weird...
Yeah I set it on live then boot to persistence, then testdir and can see the text on nano and save it. Then boot back to persistence and no joy 😂😢😢
S Yy wait just to be clear when you say ‘set it on live’ do you mean from the startup menu? you’ll need to select ‘persistence’ from the startup menu (in case that’s not what you’re already doing, sorry if i’m misunderstanding!)
rey nbows yeah nah what I meant was that when I first ran Kali, I did it on live and did the config but from then on I selected persistence to create the testdir and write in testing.txt after I add the text > testing I reboot to test but as soon as I hit the LS command I get nada... I’ve started from scratch 3 times... not sure what is it that I’m doing wrong
S Yy when you make the file, are you root or kali? you’ll have to be that user to see any files they create or save
Is it dumb to ask what kind of flash drive works best? My logic is if standard computers have a finger print then a flash drive would? I'm a major beginner here.
I think you're looking for a bad cause
@@webbster20 just curious and looking for interaction. If i was i wouldn't be asking publicly.
Hey Brilliant 🙏 could you please just slow your roll a bit🐒
could u also do one on Tails
Justin de Monkey ask and u shall receive!
Commented because i am a real one.
mine wont validate
Audio quality it’s great, but it’s really quite
