- Bunny meets Her Grace The Duchess of Rutland, Emma, in the gardens at Belvoir Castle.
There has been a castle at Belvoir since 1066. Emma, moved into the castle with her husband 23 years ago, and has helped run the castle, restore the gardens, and finish carrying out Capability Brown’s scheme to the original plans, which have recently been discovered.
See the newly planted Rose Garden (in its first flowering year), the private terraces where the Emma is going to plant lots of Dahlias for late summer colour, and hear why the 5th Duke disapproved of his wife commissioning Harold Peto to create the Italian inspired terrace gardens in the 1920’s.

The Duchess is such a lovely humble lady. What could be better than finding Capability Brown's original designs for your garden!! The stuff dreams are made of, lol. I have seen the film about the restoration of the water courses and completion of the other Brown design features. It was truly fascinating, and as a garden history geek, quite thrilling. Funny about your pump; maybe keep the old one as a curiosity, but function has to come first. Oh my goodness! I adore her grottoes! Yes, a grotto hunt sounds like such fun.

Her Grace is having a little tussle with the wind. She is the epitome of low key nobility. Notice how she politely uses Bunny’s name and is totally self effacing. Love her to death!

I thought Bunny had better timing and flow with this video. Bunny waited to speak instead of taking the lead or talking over. So I'm impressed with this video. Good sound from both parties too. I also prefer to see images from the garden that's being spoken about. So thank you Bunny for putting so much effort into this.
