      Yes they should have, not to mention other years in the 90’s they should have won it all, those Michigan teams that were not as talented that cost us the Natty!

    The nucleus of seniors and true freshman on this team really helped create a bridge of success , not mention Pace and Springs are still here. This was really an important era in OSU football history

    As a Buckeye fan I liked Lou Holtz and I truly believe ND let him go because he would have passed Rockne's winning record

      The sad part is one of my other friends said the same thing hadn't thought about it that way but now that you said that it seems to be true this is the problem with that University why they haven't had any good luck going forward with coaches including right now with Brian Kelly and they can't win the big game still so curse you don't do that till coach of that caliber man he's a legend crazy

    Mr pokey. I can understand your point. Notre dame has over the last 30 years tried to get top programs play a home and home series. Some programs would rather play not 1. Not 2 but 3 patseys. Playing these scrimmages in start of season I can see. Playing a sun belt,swac,team in November then have a week off then play your rival after a three week window. You have no excuse for that. Michigan and miami both are the teams that agree to not to s Herald games. Boots got Michigan to renew. Miami only for early 90s and then couple in last years.

    Unless ND goes unbeaten, no way it should be allowed in the playoffs. When a team is allowed to select its schedule and avoids teams fighting for conference championships, like ND does, it is not a fair playing field. And don’t throw the tradition excuse. That ended a while back and it is a new landscape now.

    • @rkwittem
      @rkwittem Před 5 lety +3

      College football has never been fair. Notre Dame schedule rivals anyone's, year after year. Don't move the goalposts for them just because you have an axe to grind. Unless Clemson's usual ACC foes are actually good- namely FSU and Miami in the ACC CG, and unless Texas A&M is good, their schedule will be considerably worse than Notre Dame but they won't be punished for losing a game even though you said that the past shouldn't be a factor....

    • @GBU61
      @GBU61 Před 5 lety +2

      Who else is allowed to join a conference only halfway like ND and avoid a conference championship? If ND is going to join the ACC, then join it and play in the conference championship game. We would have avoided the fiasco of seeing them get blown out in the semi final when that could have been done in the ACC final. When the playoff expands then this will be a mute point, but until then let the conferences have the playoff spots and ND can go play in some bowl game.

    • @jracer7189
      @jracer7189 Před 4 lety

      Yeah but unlike Clemson they don’t have a choice that the conference is bad or good because they are in a conference unlike Notre Dame because they have no excuses to say oh but we have a tough schedule we’ll then you should have scheduled lighter then and not to mention no conference championship game like they get to have a bye when all the others are putting there bodies on the line like Notre dame should have to go undefeated and that still most luckily isn’t enough.

      They swlect their schedule so they dont play a weak conference schedule. Historically the ND Footbal,schedule is packed with the likes of USC, Michigan State, Stanford, Clemson, florida State, virginia tech, etc. How many teams in the SEC, ACC, Big12, Big10 play a schedule with 4 teams who can stand toe to toe with them each year. They should do the opposite of your idea and do away with the conference championships its meaningless.
