- Authorities in Missouri are investigating after an Amazon driver was found dead in the front yard of a home. The Ray County Sheriff says neighbors called 911 because an Amazon van was parked on their street for hours. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the body and also saw two dogs on the property. The sheriff says he can’t determine if the dogs caused the driver’s death, but he did say they were aggressive toward deputies. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
The owners of the dogs should be held liable. If it was the dogs who killed him, that’s a horrific way to go.
Thats the same as saying the parents of a killer should be charged with murder when their dumbass son goes on a rampage. Doesn't work like that.
@MSMEG ll I’m sure his family cares. Someone was literally killed get out of here with your disrespectful ass
Both dogs were killed by law enforcement
A few years ago me and my friends were playing cops and robbers and one of my friends went into his garage and he told him not to touch him and his German shepherd opened the door and ran after him and not a huge chunk out of his arm off
But they don’t know that it was the dogs therefore they killed them for no reason
As a delivery driver I remember arguing with a few people online about keeping your dogs put away especially when you know you have packages coming with tracking and they responded by saying it’s their property and they’re not going to keep their dogs locked up all day and if I don’t like dogs then I should find a new job.
I couldn’t believe how idiotic of a response like that was…
Sounds like negligence.
Selfish entitle people … disgusting 🤮
And when I deliver their dogs to Jesus I don't want any complaints.
If they don't lock there dogs up then they shouldn't get there packages
U should of took the dogs.....
I truly feel sorry for the employee that passed and the family. I used to deliver for Amazon, I’ve worked in their warehouses a few times as well. I can tell you that statement from Amazon about “a member of our family” is total garbage. They look at you, and treat you, as if you’re a robot. They don’t care about their employees.
I bet.. because with those types of jobs, you’re easily replaceable.
I worked Amazon delivery for 5 months and I agree. You’re just a number to them. All they care about is getting the packages delivered at the cost of our safety
I used to work for them too im always a careful driver because i knew this would happen but my is a ass wouldn't care "just get all the stops done the way i want you to do."
All big corporations consider their employees a statistic nothing majorly new there honestly. It’s rare to find a big company that DOES care about anything except their bottom line. Capitalism has no room for people’s feelings
Amazon is money hungry and doesnt care about peoples well being enough.
RIP to this driver. This is horrible.
To all delivery drivers out there....be safe and we do appreciate you so much.

I had to make a delivery tonight with an aggressive pitbull roaming loose on the street. It didn't bite, but I still had my pepper spray ready because it ran over and followed me snarling and barking inches away. It acted like the entire block belonged to it.
If the dogs did this then the owner needs to be held fully accountable for this one.

i think amazon also have to pay them millions at least
@@wllbrr I hope so, but kinda doubt it. At most his family would get insurance money, that's if the driver opted in for AD&D insurance. If not then the only thing the family might get is a lawsuit against the dog owners and if they had insurance that covers this which most people don't.

Condolences to the family. Delivery drivers work from sunrise to after sunset just for us to receive our packages on time. I appreciate every one of them. For anyone who owns a pet, if you want your packages delivered, you better keep your pets in the house or the packages will be left at the gate. Delivery drivers shouldn’t have to risk their lives to get your packages to your door.

This is so upsetting, imagining going to work and expecting to go home later and live your life, but it’s taken away from you one random day. So so sad
I work in the emergency dept. Too many people come in with complaints of dog bites that occur while they're out delivering packages. Something needs to happen to improve safety for these workers.
God bless you for speaking out, I am a delivery driver during weekends while in college and this will make me more aware at work
That's why I carry pepper spray
Drivers should be allowed to CCW. There’s viscous animals on many routes.
We need a strong tazer to keep dogs from attacking, something that won't kill them but at least hurt them enough to stay back when our life's in danger, only if necessary
What sucks is a lot of times we come across aggressive animals on route, an we have to call driver support and be on the phone for 10 to 20mins talking to someone in a different country explaining the situation and then call our dispatch and do the same thing just so they can put a dog paw on the address, and 9 out of 10 they don't put the dog paw on the address or beware of dog notification and it sucks for the next person who goes there, Who doesn't know since amazon is careless. I've even filled our numerous cheetah card forms and still they don't do anything..amazon and dsp contractors do not care for there drivers only the number of packages we deliver that's all,
The van was parked hour hours? Amazon dispatchers can see on their computer screen every Amazon, its location, how longs it’s been parked, the amount of stops they have left and amount they’ve completed etc. I’m shocked that it took neighbors to call in the van being there that long instead of the dispatchers sending another nearby driver to check on the van or just doing something to see why the van hadn’t move
Yeah I remember a driver told me they called him when he took a bathroom break lol. But he also said they apologized for bothering him. Messed up anyhow... all of it.
True why did dispatch take that long bruh if your falling behind they bring other people to get some of your packages wtf was dispatch doing 🤔
I used to work for an Amazon DSP in the UK and they watch you like a hawk though not because they care about you.
Fake news, possibly.
good thing the other driver didn't go check on him, he would have been killed as well....I'm glad the cops had guns so they didn't die..
Man this really saddens and enrages me about this situation. I did Amazon delivery for two months during the lockdown and my number one rule when delivering was if your dog loose and your not present, your delivery will be delayed/rescheduled. My safety is more important than a box of AAA batteries!! Condolences to the employee’s family❤
Amazon needs to make this a policy. Anyone signing up for Prime should be made to accept this policy. After two delivery attempts the customer should be informed that they need to pick up their package at the warehouse. It’s a shame that Amazon puts profits before the safety of its employees.
My heart goes out to the driver’s family and loved ones. The owner should definitely be held accountable

The company had very strict rules for dogs in customers homes they had to keep the dog restrainted while we were working in their homes. If the customer did not want to do it we were told to cancel the order and just leave. We were also given pepper spray in case a stray dog would try to attack us.

My last Amazon driver told me she was bitten by a German Shepherd a week ago. She was afraid to get out of her vehicle because she heard my shepherd barking. My dog is contained but she didn't know it yet. What a dangerous job. This story is heartbreaking
That's terribly sad. The lady obviously has received serious psychological trauma from that earlier attack. I'm glad you had your dog safely contained like a responsible dog owner should. I can't stand these specific dog owners who leave their dogs the opportunity to do something like what just happened here. The main issue is that they ignorantly focus solely on how the dog behaves with them, their owner and their food source, and they conclude that's how their dog will behave with any other human they come across.

Well, if the dogs have blood all over their mouths and the Amazon worker has but wounds all over his body, shouldn’t be hard to put two and two together.
If the dogs attacked him because he went on their property, then it’s stupid to have vicious dogs outside when you’re expecting a package or mail, it’s negligence, dogs shouldn’t be loose by the mailbox or where packages would be dropped off, that’s common sense.

The one I remember most is not the couple times I got bit but one where after I made a delivery out in the country in a cul-de-sac type neighborhood. Story is, I parked my car before I went into the cul-de-sac due to it going downhill. Thing is it was icy so I wouldn't be able to drive back up so I walked to make the delivery. Long story short, as I'm getting back to my van, I see 4 dogs surrounding and smelling my van. I grab the nearest fallen tree banch and swing it at them as they were coming after me. Thankfully a civilian drove by and honked no more than 10 feet from me. I could have died a horrible death. Fk the no carrying weapons. I'll bear spray them.
