In Germany i have been asked several times if I speak African because I come from Africa. I have found a good answer for them; do you speak European?

There actually isn’t an American school system, each state has its own. This is why they differ so vastly, there are states like Mississippi that have awful education systems, and then there are states like Massachusetts that are ranked among the best in the world.

When I was in Egypt, the Egyptians never associated themselves with Africa. They feel like they are not part of Africa. Most of them would say to me, "I think i would love to visit Africa!" And i would say, hey you are in Africa already not only that but you are African too! Identity crisis i guess!

You won't see the great architecture of cities from African in their TV, instead, you will see videos from 10, 20 years of children suffering in African countries, for their charities. I've shown my friends, videos and pictures from cities in African countries, they were gobsmacked. These are people that lives in England. *North Africa is very different from Africa south of the Sahara.* Northern African people are considered Mediterranean while those from from south of the Sahara are considered Blacks.
While they are in the same continent both had completely separate History because the Sahara is nearly impossible to cross, which is another reason why the Romans did not continue conquering African regions south of the Sahara, and also another reason why Ancient Egypt was safe from any Invasion from the south.

And they always seem disappointed because they "think" their richly perceived countries are the best. But no, they lack real love and concern for a fellow human being and immorality is well pronounced because everything is accepted all in the name of human rights. Horrible neighbourhoods to stay in. Remembering is different from really knowing and applying. It doesn’t matter if your Kenyan students can name 90 countries if you can’t prove that the kenyan educations system actually equips people for careers and provides complex in-depth skills to apply, like in South Korea and Japan. Also Kenya is a highly underdeveloped country.

The thing is that we Africans are being fed bullshit about other countries and their history and we are not being taught about ourselves. It is important to be open-minded and to know about other people's culture but we need to need to decolonize our education system, learn more about ourselves and our history, maybe then we can start to love ourselves the way we should and prosper as a nation.

Stay Beautiful x You are clearly the exact example of a child who was failed by the educational system, that we were looking for, South Africa has many Europeans in power, and even the country’s in africa that are controlled by Africans are being exploited for their resources by Europeans. It’s no surprise that Europeans have taken control of most of Africa, and maybe not physically, but they sure do have a heavy impact on Africa. If you go to many African nations, you will see that their educational system is heavily impacted by Europeans, I mean they learn English and French at school, and some schools don’t even let students speak their native language. Your argument was very irrelevant. Media is controlled by Europeans, the Europeans show the bad parts of Africa to the whole world, then they take credit for things created by Africans, they invade our land and exploit our country. And when young black people see this it makes them feel embarrassed and insecure about where they come from, it’s hard to be proud of yourself and who you are when people like you label a whole race. When you say black people go to jail all the time you are labeling a whole race of people and you make them feel inferior. Also did you know that most jails/prisons aren’t even owned by the government? Most of the are owned by private companies, the government only “enforces” the laws and put people in prison. And the only reason drugs are a big thing in black communities is because people who own the jailing companies exploit and introduce black people to drugs. Why black peoples specifically? Because the people who own those companies are white, and cat risk making themselves look bad. Black people then use those drugs because that’s the only way of escape they know off, that’s their only way of escaping from the hatred and oppression towards black people. And every time they go to jail those companies are making money. And you might be asking “why do they repeat those crimes, if jail is so bad?” Because those jails don’t offer rehabilitation, so those “criminals” don’t get a second shot at life, and they end up repeating those crimes. We can prevent that, we don’t give our young black children anyone to look up to or give them anyone who looks like them who is in authority to look up to, instead we show them only the bad parts of where they come from, we show them things to be ashamed of and not things to be proud of. We are the true criminals, we have failed as humans incredibly. I can only hope that children like me won’t have to grow up the way I have.

This problem is not only existing in the U S, but also in Europe. After spending half of their entire life studying, they still come out with EMPTY HEADS. Anytime someone tells me he/she studied in the U S or any part of Europe, the first thing that comes to my mind is that "that person is still an illiterate". Honestly speaking, there is no child born in the entire continent of Africa, brought up and schooled in Africa that doesn´t know everything or has information of things happening in other parts of the World. The BIG QUESTION IS, How on Earth would anybody compare Students from the continent of Africa to other students of the World?
It's not same in whole Europe. Here in Czech Republic we know all about world, I think all central and eastern european countries have good geography and history knowledge. My sister was aupair in France and she was shocked how stupid are some French or British kids. But if you find list of the most educated countries they have good places, I don't understand that. Ofcourse I can't recognize every world state on blind map but it's not important, important is if you say some random state, I know circa where that state is. If it's European state I would know probably even capital city or biggest river. Many british people going on vacation here to Prague and they don't know in which stat that city is, can you believe that? It sounds imposibble but I swear it's true. They go here and they don't know in what state they are or they thinking we speaking Russian, which is something for what we can killing, they know only name of city where is airport. So I guess British people are same ignorants like Americans. :-D

For those asking if Americans study geography: barely. I was raised here in Indiana and we study a bit of US geography (although almost none of us could label all the states), some western European geography to understand the colonial/revolutionary era, and maybe some minimal Asian geography. We barely touched on South America and the Middle East in middle school (teachers taught for the test, so I don't remember anything), and I don't think we ever went over eastern Europe or anything in Africa. It's quite sad.
