    • @Arsarossa
      @Arsarossa Před 3 lety +5

It’s also pretty good for fighting, steadybody isn’t really a forgettable charm, the charm can allow you to get extra hits in on bosses like nkg without the worry of crashing into his flames as such, improving your dps against bosses, it’s S tier (Theres also a video on the hk disc showing how good it is.) you’d do a lot more damage with SB than you would upstriking as well, this comment on the discord should explain why it’s good better than I can tho lol.
“Steady Body is an excellent charm for a number of reasons:
      1. It makes bosses that take a lot of knockback/move away from you far easier. With knockback, it is extremely difficult to get very many nail hits in because you constantly have to chase them after they get pushed away. However, with Steady Body equipped, you get to move with the bosses, allowing you to get more nail hits and far higher dps.
      2. It helps against attacks that limit your movement options. These attacks include the lances attack from PV, the fire pillars from NKG, and the orbs from Absrad. These attacks have tight spaces where even the slightest knockback can lead to you taking damage.
      3. You don't have to constantly hold forward. While it is not too difficult to adjust for the knockback by moving forwards slightly, Steady Body removes the need to worry about that completely, and completely removes the chance of accidentally walking too far forwards and taking damage.
      4. It's among the best one notch charms. One notch charms are incredibly useful for overcharming or simply general purposes, and for the above reasons Steady Body is an excellent choice. The low notch cost also allows Steady Body to fit into many charm builds, making it incredibly versatile. This means that you can almost always equip Steady Body with Quick Slash, which allows it to truly shine.”

Enemies all over the place where you don't want to hit one only to get recoil bounced back, miss the platform you were standing on, panic, and end up getting impaled on spikes. But other than that, yeah, not the most useful.

Honestly these rankings seem applicable mostly to godseeker/really late-game content - steady body is great for bruteforcing weaker bosses & landing consecutive hits more consistently. The geo duo is at least decent until you buy everything you need. I personally ran hiveblood + elegy for my first coliseum clear - which made things a LOT easier. It feels a bit weird to rank them 'universally' instead of best/worst for the endgame specifically.

Here's an argument for steady body, it's one of the best charms in the game in a lot of the most difficult content due to ability to hit at full speed at times that you otherwise couldn't (eg a hitbox right behind you and you can't get close enough to upslash), and allows you to more effecitvely follow enemies.

I actually used steady body for my fight against Radiance, because, in her second phase, it helps to get a few hits when jumping, without having the dang recoil making you fall into the void.
But that's the only time I've ever seriously used it.

Simple change to make Joni's Blessing a great charm: Make it synergize with Grubberfly's Elegy so you can use sword beams at any amount of health. The hiveblood charms already kind of do this, by giving you a buffer where you can still use it as long as you haven't lost any of your real masks.

Enjoy the content Rusty! Can't wait to see what your videos will be like for silksong!
Also, for discussion, I find Joni's really useful because the way I play is to use as little healing as possible when fighting bosses especially late in game. I use as much soul for spells since they are OP in comparison to the nail. So Joni's blessing really helps with that type of strategy. But I can definitely understand why it might not be as popular.

The only situation in which I can imagine someone using Grubberfly's Elegy is if they're completing the delicate flower quest or enough of a dodge king that they use it in boss fights just because. Also maybe getting the synergy thing with Fury of the Fallen but that's even more finnicky than the situations in which both charms are used on their own.

i use steady body a LOT, so seeing it on this list was a surprise (this is the first video from this channel i'm watching, so i hadn't seen any other lists to know what was and wasn't mentioned).
personally, i find it invaluable against bosses since it's just one notch to effectively remove something you need to focus on. you need precise movement but want to put more focus on dodging attacks? it's your best bet, especially with quick nail. maybe i'm just a baby, but i enjoy the utility it offers in fights with targets that move little enough that you can wail on them. it's one of my highest priority charms along with mark of pride and quick nail.

I used Joni's blessing vs Grimm since I couldn't find a time to heal so there was no downside. It wasn't worth it, if there's no time to heal in a fight, boosting your damage is way better than boosting your health.

You can work around the grubberfly's elegy effect by using the other two lifeblood charms that don't convert your regular health.
Speaking of joni's blessing, hiveblood works with the converted health, giving you a huge health pool that regens naturally (that being said 8 notches is a lot and there are better charm combos but it can be very helpful if you're struggling to find windows to heal against certain bosses)
