My First Try at a Blythe Custom!

- I definitely kept things simple for this first attempt at a custom, inspired by the character Coraline. So, minimal carving for the faceup and nothing too fancy with the makeup.

Some materials that I used for the custom:
Faber-Castell Goldfaber aqua watercolor pencils - tin of 12 colors
Acrylic paint
Paintbrushes
Hand-carving chisel tool set
X-acto knife
Sanding sponges
Mr. Super Clear UV cut gloss 170ml (spray)
Reusable half facepc cover, respirаtor 6200 with 4 pcs 2091 filter
Liquitex professional gloss varnish, 118ml
PanPastel ultra soft artist pastel
Rit dye liquid, all purpose black
Uni Posca paint marker extra fine (0.7mm)
Blank face plate (RBL mold)
Eye mechanism (with lashes already attached, pull strings, and pull rings)
Licca body
Wig with attached scalp (for RBL)
She turned out beautifully, btw. You must be so pleased. She is precious.

Your Coraline doll looks fabulous. The hair colour is lovely and unique! I really like the subtlety of the face up. I currently have a doll which I am trying to customise - although I bought the face plate already done on Etsy so that was most of the job done. I'm also planning on using the Licca body with her and been trying to use rubberbands on the neck joint so that the head doesn't wobble - do you have any tips for dealing with that?
Thank you so much, March! I'm afraid the only tip I have for the wobbly head is the same one you already know, which is to use rubberbands. I actually prefer the clear hair elastics, since they feel less likely to degrade and break so soon (they have a more plastic than rubber feel to them). But with this custom, the wobbly head wasn't an issue at all, so I didn't have to use anything! 🙌🏻
You done a really good julie. Ive just brought my first factory doll and would love to learn how to do sleepy eyes with dramatic eyeshadow and a pattern at the back of the head❤❤
