Super Junior has a large fanbase.That's why they're #1
Top 10 as of 2014 IMO:
1. Exo - One word, Growl.
2. Bigbang - Still sell well and are talked about a lot even though their last album was in 2012.
3. SHINee - Sold a heck of a lot of albums in 2013 and had sell out tours across Asia.
4. DBSK - Still sell massively in both Korea and Japan.
5. Super Junior - I would have ranked them higher but they haven't released anything as a group since 2012.
6. Infinite - Really risen up the ranks thanks to Destiny and Last Romeo.
7. Beast - Still have high quality music and higher than average sales.
8. B.A.P - Like Infinite have really risen up the rankings thanks to constant comebacks.
9. 2PM - Dropped a little but still highly popular
10. I have absolutely no idea who to put for 10.
Good job ... but ...i usually would say exo shouldn't be first because they don't hace enough expirience but i let it go because you're the only one here who realized that SHINee und was f*cking successful in 2013 ...
the number 10 is definetly easily BTS, danger and Just One Day doing well in chart, War Hormone and Boy in Luv is a great song, they are still underrated boyband.
although it's a tough year for them, there's a plan for them to disband, before their breakthough year in 2015 (i need u era)
B.A.P is stil more popular then them in 2014. B.A.P reaching into USA before BTS did so, B.A.P still more popular in USA (But BTS begin to show that their targett is there, Dark and Wild album chart hit peak at number 3 in US World Album weekly chart) . also 2pm, is still hugely popular, everyone still remember "Hands Up", how big their k-pop song it is. they got their brand as the most machoK-Pop boyband, they are more focused on Japanese market. and quite success there, eventough JYP should promote them in western. Nickhun is one of the most popular K-Pop foreign artist and most popular artist in Thailand. Taecyeon is always hot that year. so they are number 9, ahead of BTS.

Pradyumna Rao no offense but bigbang's fantastic baby almost reaches 100 million views so even if it's just one song they are further ahead and that makes them more popular, they even won best worldwide act at mtv emma , also, the solo albums of each member have had more success than suju's, for example eunhyuk and donghae's still you has like 3 million views while gd's heartbreaker has like 30 millions........i love suju but i don't think bigbang is trailing behind them...

Pradyumna Rao exo is a great group, n it´s true that they are drawing a lot of attention but they are still rookies, their most viewed mv has 29? millions, so they are not as popular as bigbang or suju yet cuz both of them keep maintaining their popularity. In 2012, sexy,free and single got like 33 million views while all mvs of bigbang's 2012 comback except ''monster'' surpass 40 millions...also like i said their comebacks in 2013 were much better than suju's......and as u said ''right now'' suju has no attention, their greatest success was in 2010?...not any more..... bigbang wasn't as popular as them before but they are right now! so shut the fuck up and get over it! .l.

big bang should be first, they are more popular than super junior. The song " fantastic baby' has at least 110000000 views, and they didn't do any comeback last year and this year because they have done solo work. TOP, SEungri, G dragon, Tayeang, all their song are hits. It's very rare to find a member of a group to have a hit. A lot of koreans artist work in a group cause it's easier for them this way to become famous

Pyriyanga Ramu Taemin's song Danger has won on Music Core and Music Bank i think, eitherway he has won 2 awards on big music shows and hes only the first member to go solo! I'm sure they are all amazing!! and btw this is her/his personal opinion. In my opinion SHINee is more talented then any of those groups but that's why it's called an opinion! bcuz it can differ from person to person!

I think the biggest thing about this list that bothers me is the fact that it was posted in SEPTEMBER of 2013. You cannot have an accurate list of the top groups of a time period when you are still in the time period, as it doesn't account for everything else left in the year. I know several of the groups shown had a few more comebacks in that time, which raised their popularity considerably.

Super Junior and BigBang are soooo close in popularity. I have trouble telling which group has the upperhand. And I really thought that TVXQ! would be in the top 3 cause they are still very successful but these rankings change so often. Shoutout to SHINee!

Bigbang should be no.1 and im not even a big fan. They had been around the kpop industry for a long time and went on many world tours.also all of them have had solos which makes there popularity even bigger. They have fans all over the world.
So does Super Junior. Okay, they don't have soloists but they have subgroups.

I agree with +xDun5848. Each member on their own has gained so much popularity internationally (America, Japan, Canada, etc.) that as a group makes them even more so. And if you (+Pradyumna Rao) think that because Leeteuk and Eunhyuk are more famous then you obviously haven't heard of Taeyang and GD... And I'm not hating on Super Junior, because personally I love them and SM.
I still like SS501 (they'll have a comeback. i believe in them) and CN Blue is cool. I liked B2ST (BEAST). EXO, SHINee, and BIGBANG are all AWESOME ^v^ so is super junior
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure SS501 has unofficially disbanded since their company never extended their contract once it expired. I'm think they're all in different companies now and have separate careers. But,yes, it would be nice if they came back together and released a new album ^^

actually!!! Kitten Warrior they NEVER disbanded. they are on hiatus. they all put in their new contracts that the band is more important than their solo careers, and that they could re-band (is that a thing?) anytime. i looked on like, what, 30 websites to confirm then i was like THANK GOODNESS! ^_^

I personality think that BigBang should be #1 not just because i'm a VIP (I'm a full sapphire blue blood) but because obviously BigBang has a lot of achievement so far. And as for Suju sadly it seems like they're getting down. And for those who are saying that EXO should be #1 guys accept it they need more hard works. Always remember that they still need to beat the top 3 male royalties (Suju,BigBang,TVXQ) Peace yo! I'm from exo planet as well ;)
Well big bang did solo projects(Taeyang song and G-dragon album) in 2013 and did not make any comebacks together as Big bang so that might be the reason why. :) Don't get me wrong Big Bang is Korea Biggest Boyband and still will be forever but other boybands probably took their spot for the time being. Once Big Bang will male their comeback they will the most popular boyband of 2014 or 2015 (idk when they are coming back.)

Makes complete sense, exo might be hot in kpop world right now but that is mostly in Korea. Big Bang still sold more singles of fantastic baby in USA than the combined sales of growl and wolf. As for SuJu they are not known as kings of hallyu wave for nothing, their overseas market strength still seems unbeatable. They don't just sell records but fully sold out concerts as well, in countries as diverse as UK, france, south america, etc. Despite not making a comeback this year still have a very large and loyal(to an extent) fan base as well. Still, if the trend continues exo will be topping the list soon enough unless SuJu and Big Bang make a great comeback.
Unfortunately, most preteens don't get that, they think in black and white. Sometimes, I wish their audience was a bit more mature and actually researched this rather than just shouting their favourite boy group, hoping they'd win. I mean, I like VIXX, did I expect them to make it to top 5? Heck no, they don't even have the exposure.
Super Junior deserves its spot on Number 1 (without being bias) they proved themselves for so long and there star are still not out till now. SUPER JUNIOR is the reason why koreas music spread worlwide..

From what i understand the reason that they are so popular is because of their company. SMtown promotes a lot so that's why they're so popular.

In my opinion, I think that EXO, B2ST, and Infinite should be placed a little bit high... If you look at social websites, votes, and number of awards, these boys are on the top, especially EXO. And I think that Bigbang should be #1 cause SuJu hasn't released a hit song this year, unlike Bigbang with Fantastic baby... And yeah, 2AM was also missing..

Even if SJ didn't release this year, they are still the most popular of all Boy Band in KPOP in my opinion. The other artists may have released this year but SJ is the first to hold a very successful South American tour and World Tours in general. They are in their 5th tour for Shisus sakes. Plus the general public of South Korea know them too. Most people don't really know EXO for instant. I admit that EXO have gone and done so much this year (very proud of them) but they have a long way to go. I think Big Bang is #2 because although they are also popular, their hiatus after Daesung's and GD's scandals damage a bit of their popularity just like DBSK when they split. This is my opinion.

i know there are many fans of BB and SJ and TVXQ and others but BE HONEST !!! this year these groups don't have new songs or albums, and we know that they have many fans and they are popular and well-known overseas too, BUT this year EXO did something that was unexpected, they sold 1million albums in so short time, they were nominated on MTV EMA, their song growl was really big success and other songs too, their videos on youtube (weekly idol, asc and etc) has so many views that didn't had with other idol groups, they have so many fanclubs worldwide, even on ASC they received more calls then anybody(i guess 6000) ! they received 410000 questions on weibo, and the did this in just some `1 year ! ) so u know what i'm trying to say ))) i'm not really big exotic or elf or vip but , just saying this )

You might say I'm biased because exo is my bias group but this is popularity levels in 2013 and EXO was definitely quite popular not just in Korea but in China as well in 2013. But yeah not complaining about BigBang and SJ because they deserve it :D

VIXX wasn't as popular in 2013, and this was even before Voodoo Doll. I am pretty sure that VIXX gained a lot of their popularity from Voodoo Doll and Eternity (I don't know for sure though because I am still fairly new to K-pop). I don't know much about BTS but I think that they are lower on this because they have a much bigger international fan base than a Korean fan base, but like I said, I don't know much about BTS. :D
Bts weren't that big when this vid was uploaded because they were literally only 2 months into their debut. They gained a lot more popularity in 2014

Some people are glazing over the "2013" part of the title, I'm seeing things like, "TVXQ! at number 9!?", but as huge as they are, they only released one EP in 2013, compared to SHINee for instance, who had 2 Korean albums, 1 Japanese album and an EP.
You have to look at this video as a "Most successful boy-groups of the year", rather than, "Most successful boy-groups of all time".
Sure, some of the ranks could be shifted around now (For example, VIXX could probably break out of the "20 Zone" thanks to "Voodoo Doll"), since this was made in September, but the facts are the facts, you can't just say, "My bias group should be number one because _________".

Not as popular in the entertainment industry. They are however popular in the music industry but Super Junior promoted a lot more with advertisements and Cfs in Korea, a lot of activities in China...

this is bullshit though. Suju isn't no1, especially with their mediocre comeback in 2013. Big Bang (although my favorite group) didn't even have a song in 2012, and if you count their overall popularity, tvxq/jyj should both be higher. That's just a couple examples of what's wrong with this list.

First of all, Break Down is a song sang by Super Junior M, which is a sub group and they sing in Chinese, and it's not considered as a comeback and Hero is a Japanese album and they didn't promote it in Korea, so you cannot count it as a comeback either.
And about the rest of your comment, if you say so, BIGBANG didn't had a comeback either so they shouldn't be on the list either, and if you're gonna mention G-Dragon or Taeyang or Seungri or TOP having solo comebacks, you really cannot count that because those were solo comebacks.

For people who think K-Pop is just exo and constantly think they are the best of the best, then you obviously have not explored K-Pop enough.
