- 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 8th generation Honda Accord air conditioner heater blend door actuator broken on driver side. Maximum, 45 minutes to fix. Tools needed, flashlight and medium Phillips screwdriver. Dual climate control. My car was stuck in one temperature on the driver side only. EX-L
Thank you! I've put up with the 2008 Accord driver zone "hot-in-summer / cold-in-winter" for two years. Your excellent video showed how easy it was. Once I had the part... even with old arthritic hands and balky back... it was a twenty minute fix !
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much this was so helpful. I refused to go through this summer with the lukewarm cold on the drivers side now it's artic cold all the way across.
Right now I got hot air on drivers side.🥵 It looks like an easy fix but I dont trust myself to do it and I know how easily frustrated I will get because I dont want to do the repair myself.
Thanks for taking the time to film this for the CZcams watchers! Short, simple and complete steps to diagnose, remove and install part required. Showed part number and price. Also, great warning about difficulty of getting to the area.
Glad to help
your video really helped, thank you - now I know how the contortionists fit into those boxes in magic tricks - at 61 I felt like a pretzel but got it done. Had to plug it in, change the setting of a/c to cold and then it fit. Thanks again.
Thanks for taking the time to show where it's located. You are appreciated!
Thank you my lady car was blowing hot 🔥 🥵 . Took me 20 min tops driver side was not moving. Change it and it works 💪 thank u so much .
Thanks a ton bro. Just finished and ac is kicking strong on both sides.
Thank you so much, this fixed it
good video, straight to the problem
Thank you!
Great info, thanks!!!
I have this problem, mine is making the 'hunting' sound (whirring back and forth constantly) My Accord is at the dealer right now beause no mechanic could figure it out (they all just said to bang on the inner side of the dash and it'd fix it for about a week then it'd act up again) I had no idea it was inside the cabin and didn't require taking the dash apart, you are amazing! It cost me $165 just to diagnose the problem so the dealer for sure is going to gouge the fuck out of me for the fix. Thank you!
👍🏼
How did you remove small panel underneath steering wheel?
My ac passenger side hot driver side cool i need also same part for replacement ?
You’re probably using the heater today
Just popped mine out still blowing cool on the driver side no matter if I move the flap passenger side is hot like I need it to be
Did you find anything? I have the same problem and the motor is moving the arm perfectly
@@alilolos99 problem is the heater core is clogged on the drivers side
@@ken79bu did you replace it or flush it? How much did it cost? Did you have to remove the entire dashboard like I see on some videos?
@@alilolos99 well I flushed it but then found out I had a head gasket leak so I wasn’t gonna deal with the car one more winter so I sold it look up honda accord clogged on here and u will see what a guy guy found once he cut it open
I don’t have any heat, and I have partial heat on the passenger’s side vents and only cold air from the driver’s side vents. I looked under the steering wheel to look at this blend door and everything is moving correctly, I already flushed the heater core (since the Honda dealer told me it was clogged) and there was no clog, the flush just pushed light green coolant out and it was clear pretty quickly so I’m more than sure there was no clog. Any guesses as to what my issue is??
Jesus Gonzalez check the passenger side blend door
Adam Chittenden where exactly is that located and can you see it without removing anything from under the dash?
Jesus Gonzalez sounds like You need to remove the cover below the glovebox, about 3 body clips along the edge nearest the glove box that can be easily pried open, then the cover can be taken off.
Adam Chittenden I took my car to the dealer once again because the timing belt needed replacement and I told them that I had flushed the heater core myself and explained that it seemed like there was no clog at all. They checked the car again for the heater issue when they replaced the timing belt and they told me that everything looked good, the blend doors all worked, the vents were properly working and they’re more than sure that the heater is clogged. They told me that once it is flushed, one must run the car for 8-9 hours, not just drive it around for a bit like I did. How legit does this sound?
I only get heat from the small passengers side vent, the front passengers vent is barely lukewarm and both drivers side vents are blowing cold
Is it fine that from LO to 18c it doesn move?
I have a similar issue with my 08’ Accord EX-L, I get heat in the passenger vent near the door, barely any heat in the passenger front vent, and cold air coming from both driver side vents with heat on HIGH. I checked this same actuator under the steering wheel and I see it moving when I change the temperature, what can be the issue?? I already flushed the heater core and it’s not clogged
Having same exact problem did you fix?
Mines is still moving
@@ronnieronn7794 Nah man, I noticed that I do get a bit of heat but only if I set the air mode to “face & feet” and only put the air speed to one notch, anything above one notch it starts getting cold. So weird
I have the same exact problem. I see the actuator moving but I only get heat out of the far right passenger side and very little out of the right center. Ice cold on the left two vents.
I get the best heat result on face and feet with recirculation on but only on the right side of the car.
i did change but doesn't movement
Probably the blend door stuck
Thankyou
Part number ?
