  • Today I installed my LASFIT H11 LED bulbs for my foglights. A subscriber ordered these for his Taco and got them to fit in the headlight housing with some amount of force. fog lights didn't take much force as you see in my video.
    buy them from Amazon here: amzn.to/2zxREbe
    I like that they have 1 less part that you need to attach and I noticed that it's much quieter than the Most Plus.
    you can skip to these highlights below:

    I been watching all types of led bulb review for months now. Good thing I ran into you video. I really like your video because you actually had a review about the fan noise. People usually review the light output but I was more interested on the fan noise. Hope you do an update of how long you been using it or any issues comes up. You got me is your subscriber. Keep up the great work

      Hey I appreciate the compliment. Glad I could help. I've had the Most plus for a few months with no issues. The Lasfit is working well too. Great suggestion about updates and long term status. I've had a few other questions about how my paint or other parts have held up so I can consolidate them all. I think a status check on the Taco overall would be good too.
      Thanks for subscribing! Happy Friday!

    I installed a set of AuxBeam H11 LED bulbs in my fogs, and OMG those suckers are BRIGHT. Also noticed the fan hum, but that is to be expected. The housing barely even gets warm to the touch. Love the AuxBeams.

    So I got my Lasfit H11 Swtchback LED's today and installed them. Easy install. They did have the extra piece that goes between the bulb and the connector. They work awesome and thanks to your video the install was easy.

    I got the most plus as well no problems. The Lasfit either have better bearings in the fan or the housing is better so you dont hear them as much. And as far as the lil box mid point on the most plus lights that should be a resistor, the lasfit probably has one as well built into the back of the housing of the bulb or its in the plug part.

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 7 lety

      Thanks for the comment. I suspect better bearings because the housing seems really too open to reduce any noise.
      After doing more research that tiny box appears to be a ballast.
      thanks again for watching.

    Rob, Just saw the video and one thing that I thought of during your comparison of the Lasfit and Mostplus - the Lasfit has a thicker gasket - maybe too thick. It may keep the assembly from seating in far enough and clearing that screw. The Mostplus has a gasket that flattens out when it seals and allows the assembly to seat in further as it locks. Just a thought. Do both type work well overall? I just got a 17 Tacoma, and am thinking of switching out the lights.

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 6 lety

      Hi. My first thought was the same as yours. It was the gasket so I removed it and tried to insert it and no luck. Then I thought maybe it's just my headlights. I happened to have another set of headlights for a project and the exact same deal with no gasket as that.
      Since the other set was outside I could look up close and saw it was definitely the screw. I actually took close up pics and a video about it about it but didn't want a lengthy video on this issue and just make the quick point.
      If you force it with more pressure it will clear but I didn't want to take a chance at having removal issues. The fog light socket was the easiest to work with.
      As far as working, they both work well. I have the mostplus in my high beam socket and it lights up anything up close and since I have bi-xenon HIDs it just adds to more light.
      I'd suggest trying out 1 set of LEDs and switching out from highs, to lows, to fogs to see how you like the output. If you're satisfied then you can expand to all 3 locations. They are the same fitment.
      Let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for commenting.

      Thanks for the compliment!
      I haven't had issues or seen any reports from anybody on this. Actually feedback from what I read is for the owners are in snow areas it may not be recommended because it doesn't get warm enough to melt the ice/snow off the headlight lens.

    I just got 2018 sr5 2w and I checked my bulbs the LB h11, HB H8, FOG H16... do all yours say h11 or are they like 2018 tacoma?

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 6 lety

      You are correct. That's the OEM designation for each bulb but H11 will fit in all the sockets. Keep in mind the h11 leds will be very bright for fogs and I only recommend using them when there is no oncoming traffic such as when using high beams.

      @RobDaman  Před 7 lety +1

      +wko77586 hi. I never had a single person flash me. I even cranked up the aim height. I've noticed the light does bleed more towards the sides.
      Now if you installed in the fog lights it's definitely going to happen. There's no cut off so it's better for off road use

    How is the low beam bulb the same as the high beam shouldn’t the high beams be different

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 6 lety

      Hi,
      Great question! The size reference for the high beam bulb is H9 while lows are H11 but the socket itself are the same size for all 3 locations including the fogs. So many will replace all 3 with H11 LED or HID.
      H11 will be too bright for the fogs though and I recommend them for offroad use only.
      Thanks again for commenting.

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 7 lety

      It depends on the film they use and solution. I've had Huper Optik ceramic installed before and since it's really thick and difficult to install, it basically is dried when done.
      Other films have to 'cure' to be sticky and it depends on humidity and outside temperature to dry up enough to roll down the windows.
      They'll tell you longer so they won't have to redo it in case you decided to roll down too soon. I think leaving it in the sun for a day or 2 should probably take care of it.

      Where i live i get snow now and then, and when its not snow its rain. either way glare is a issue so i went with amber/yellow lights for the h11 fogs on my taco. the amber doesnt blind people like the whites, and the glare back from snow/wet surfaces is way better then with whites, while still adding that low extra illumination so you can actually see the road markings well.

    You think shaving the screw down would make it fit better into the low and high beams?

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 7 lety +1

      I believe it could but the issue would be warranty. I could have tried to use a large drill bit , remove the screw and see if I can make a bevel cut but most people wouldn't want to do that.

    • @Im2KoolAid
      @Im2KoolAid Před 7 lety +1

      Hmm wondering if maybe even finding a bit smaller of a rubber grommet would work. Might have to order them, remove the screw and maybe try cutting the tip a bit/find a shorter screw and see if that would make a difference in fitment. I'll keep you updated for future reference. Thanks for the video and reply

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 7 lety

      It's definitely not the rubber grommet. I tried it removed and I have a pair of lights removed (BLHM set) and it still didn't fit. I'm sure forcing it would get in there but I didn't want to chance of breaking the hole.
      Let me know what you end up doing. Perhaps I just had a weird pair.

    • @RobDaman
      @RobDaman  Před 6 lety

      Hi Matt,
      All the OEM bulbs are halogen but for lows, fogs and highs you are able to swap them to LED. I wouldn't recommend highs in LED though as the throw isn't as far. This is Jason's SR5 and we swapped out the lows and fogs. czcams.com/video/6awPzxVlOzo/video.html
      If you wanted to have LED DRL's like the Off-road, Sport and Pro then you would have to swap headlights and splice the DRL wires to make it work for you.
