Honestly, I’m not a 76ers fan, but I think it may be time to trade Embiid. Harden seems adamant about not playing anymore and without him Philly definitely isn’t making it out the 2nd round. Maybe trade Harden to LA for Norman Powell, Terence Mann, Marcus Morris, and a 1st. See if Nurse can get all those role players to buy in or try flipping them to Chicago for DeRozan. Either way, I think Embiid requests a trade next summer if philly doesn’t make it past round 2 this year.

To me right now assuming Dame is gone, is in rebuilding mode, Portland should not want an expiring contract in Harden then Portland is forced to make a difficult decision on its future right off the bat because of what Harden will want in his next contract. And Portland is barely rebuilding.
So in the end, does Portland really want to add Harden, so in 2 or 3 years have to break up again because Harden handcuffs that franchise plus the fact Harden is no spring chicken either...
If the franchise is going to be in Scooters hands for the foreseeable future, your gonna need the cap space when you have to renegotiate from Scooters rookie contract, and having an aging Harden shouldn't be in the future plans, nor should Portland trade what available assets to satisfy Harden only to know he has history when he has to perform, then the potential of him going sour on that team because he will get blamed. Again this is assuming Scooter pans out as your franchise player 4 or 5 years down the road.
I certainly wouldn't put my Portland money on getting Harden, that much I can tell you if I'm rebuilding around Scooter
