Corey Wells, a man before his time, love of music, thank you so much. Rest peacefully, your message will still be heard by us humans, stuck here earth. It's time for The Dogs to be the The Hall of Fame.....true rock and rollers!
One of the best songs ever written by Laura Nyro. She never wrote a bad tune. Her performance was very dynamic and she had the famous Martha and the Vandella's as the back ups!! Look for it on this titled album at time scrubber mark 16:17!! czcams.com/video/_kPrm5uHz0Y/video.html
There is no music like there was in the 50s,60s,and 70s it started changing in the 80s . So Very thankful I am part of those early year's. Bell bottom pants and turtle neck sweaters. Thank you 3 Dog Night for your contribution to the music that us in our 60s will always listen to.
RIP Cory Wells. Cory, Danny Hutton and Chuck Negron were the powerful vocals of always definable 3 Dog Night. More top 40 hits between 1969 and 1975... more than any other band over 6 year span. Timeless music for all to enjoy!!! THANKS CORY, DANNY and CHUCK.
I have this on my Facebook page and I am watching it at 1:30 a.m. and regardless how many times I see this... Something happens every single time... I feel the energy and get goosebumps.. just like a lot of the other folks are saying.
Oh yeah- Cory, Chuck & Danny, awesome lead singers all. I've never heard as high a pitch from a male singer as Chuck on 'Good Feeling'; phenomenal. And of course drummer Floyd Sneed! Fantastic pocket drummer with sensational feel and groove. After all these years I've rediscovered the amazing talent of TDN. Love to all the amazing musicians of this fantastic band.
I sure am really starting to feel the deep loss of these GREAT artist's. Anyone who knows anything about music and singing knows that we are are witnessing greatness. Rest In Peace Cory.
Love This group so much even with all the changes and all the troubles through the years they have been one of my very favorite groups I love them then and I love them now and I will always love Three Dog Night always ♥️ ♥️♥️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome! Having vocals of this quality(yes even without Chuck Negron) is priceless. These guys still rock. Thumbs up to the bass player who pulled off those vocals extremely well. One of the best versions I've ever heard.
This is one of the most amazing and energetic performances I have ever seen. These guys nail this song to your chest and head and it sticks with you for days, one of those "must watch daily" performances. I appreciate all versions of this song but this one resonates an emotion of triumph. I hope they have many performing years left in them because if I have but one regret, it is not seeing them live and in person.
RIP Cory! My parents met at your concert when Three Dog Night played at Michigan State University where they were both students in the mid 70's, got married in 1980 and I'm the youngest of 4 kids and I was born in the late 80's. My parents always said if it wasn't for Three Dog Night, none of us would be here. My Mom cried when she heard you passed on. Your music will always live on. RIP also to Jimmie Greenspoon.
RIP Corey Well lead singer of Three Dog Night. The band song about love, peace happiness for all. Songs about rights and freedom for everyone. They were the first band to have a Black member Floyd Sneed he was a drummer, but they could have had all lily white members. This piece is about Corey Wells and his remarkable voice and his 50-year marriage, gone much too soon. Your wonderful voice will be missed.
This song is written by the Bronx child prodigy and genius singer/songwriter, Laura Nyro, from her 2nd LP 'Eli and the Thirteenth Confession' (1968), universally rated by critics as a masterpiece. Nyro is loved and revered by the music industry as one of its greatest ever talents. She was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2012 by Bette Midler. Her fans are diverse as Miles Davis, Leonard Bernstein, Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper, Prince, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Stephen Sondheim, REM, Kanye West, Streisand. Like many of her great songs, she wrote Eli's Comin' when she was still a teenager. Nyro passed from ovarian cancer in 1997 aged 49.
Great GrandSon born Eli my name for the child . Had already reached back couldn't walk this Song brought me through With Almighty God leading me in every right and perfect direction 70th Birthday Yes
Want the truth about it? In 1982, I named my first son after this song beause of the power of it. He died when he was seven. I think he was too powerdful for this world. His charisma was incredible. He would have been the man of the title. Now you are welcome to slam me as I know will happen.
Saw Three Dog Knight in 1976, and again in 2000. I was going crazy dancing in the aisle during this song. (Realized I was a bit out of shape for such aerobics - lol!) I still have this 45. Probably my favorite song by them. Love these guys! Thankyou so much for sharing this.
I learned of Cory's passing about 5 months age myself. I haven't stopped listing to them , especially Cory's songs since. This performance, the whole concert is phenomenal
perhaps his eyes are shut because his vision of the song he sings and the emotion he brings are that much deeper ...i think..no..i know his voice has such a great passion that it is beyond the previous version of anything heard..thank you cory..i mean it..thank you so much
To: Cory Wells...."One" may be a lonely number, but keyboarder Jimmy Greenspoon will be there to walk that stairway with you to ROCK N ROLL HEAVEN... RIP.
awesome song. and Cory a classey guy in music and in person, I remember meeting Cory for a short moment and I remember how much class he had in the short time I was near him, love you Cory, till I see you again. have a great journey!
We won't see a talent or a voice like Cory any time soon. You gave us a lifetime of great music with your voice. Jimmy too. Three Dog Night was the biggest band in the United States in the late 60s/early 70s. SO MANY GREAT CLASSIC HITS. All had great melodies and lyrics....Mike, Joe, Floyd, and Jimmy were the perfect band for the perfect voices. THANK YOU Cory!
I saw the entire original band in the 1980's when they all were "Alive" and got back together. There were awesome then. One of my three fav bands when I was in High School (Class of '73) and they're still doing all their songs in the original keys and that's NOT easy singing that they do. I read about all the legal battles with the band vs. Chuck. Too bad it had to come to that, it was like a bad divorce. They STILL Rock though
In 1974 I walked around the block w/ my mom, we went to a "free" yard sale by some really cool hippies! I was 12,,,,, they gave me a nice cassette player and a bunch of good cassettes! One was 3DN, it rocked my world so much... to this day I love 3DN. Thanks God man, like, for putting hippies in this world. They're so cool man, ya dig?
Damn,grew up with 3 Dog Night and loved this,you blew it away,where was I when you were performing...ha,oh yes I was in Idaho...never mind!😂😂😂 Thank you,love you!!❤❤❤
Looooove the horn section on this version! The guys haven't lost their touch, even after all these years! --And this is no lip-synch version either----this is the real stuff! Good for you! Keep on rockin'!
I don't go to concerts, ever, but if they were coming to my city, and I thought it would all be like this, I would for sure go to see them. I come back to this video again and again.
I saw them when I was a teeny bopper and the band was terrific. I love their music even today. It was obvious that Chuck was the voice that made them. I love to sit and watch their old videos on U Tube. it takes me back.
Elijah the man of FAITH. FAITH being the action of practicing what one preaches. Elijah preached "LOVE God and LOVE one another. Don't do, say or even think anything about another which you would not appreciate another doing, saying or even thinking about you." ELI HAS COME AND IS COME! And there is no escaping this reality. Each one's end is judged by Elijah. We are saved through FAITH in Jesus.
My favorite version. Cory......well, you will always live on. I watch this at least once a day. Just to watch you at the end...love me, kiss me, hold me. squeeze me. RIP Mr. Wells.
I am so pleased I had the opportunity to meet and share a few refreshments with these guys in Torrington Connecticut two times. Great group and great people. Rest In Peace Cory and Jimmy. You are greatly missed.
the more I watch this, and I watch it a lot, the more I love it. I'm too young to remember the original song, but of course I know it. this versions shows the truth about the phrase that cheese, wine, and women only get better with age-because the re-working of "Eli" has only made it much, much better. and it's a fun video to watch, because THEY are having so much fun singing it-it's contagious. what I don't understand is why the audience just sat there-I would have been on my feet.
Yes, it is! I'm in my 70's now & still rockin' to TDN! Saw them perform live several times. Loved them back when & love them now! We'll miss you, Cory & Jimmy!
Oct 2019. No way he has been dead 4 years this month. Damn. Peeps were listening to Joy to World, I had this stuff on. This and Monster Cards were the bomb.
Dennis, I have a Cory Wells story for you......first concert I ever was too....TDN at Allentown Fairgrounds / Indoor show. ......Show was over and we made our way out front.....there was a ticket booth out front of the venue (this was Oct 1969)......My friends and I were standing in front at the ticket booth waiting for our one buddy to retrieve the car and pick us up....it was raining like hell out....next thing you know a black limo pulls up in front of the venue, ....door to the ticket booth opens up quickly and knocks me to the ground.....Cory, Danny, and Chuck were in there apparently waiting for the limo.....Cory, picks me up by the arm and says "You Ok???", I was stunned......at age 18 it was like talking to God....never forget it....still trying to figure out why they did not exit to the rear of the venue......
I saw these guys twice in 2015. Once with Cory, once without. Fantastic both shows. The band is tight and top notch. In early 2015 Cory was amazing as always but we were not aware he was sick. I will forever be grateful for the experience. It must have been difficult for his family to share their time with his fans during that time.Thank you!
Wenylranger: I saw them in concert last summer at a casino. Allsup was not there, no meet and greet, no autos & not much interaction with the audience whatsoever. I have been a huge fan since 1969 & was so disappointed. Chuck did not leave the group as stated below, he was ousted due to his sickness & heroin addiction. If you ever have an opportunity to see Chuck Negron & the Negron Band do so, he does not disappoint. He sang lead on half of their hits & still sounds amazing & a super nice guy!
Damn!!! I have watched this every day for the past two weeks since I found it. Finally HAD to comment. I agree with as435943, I never really liked this song but this version ROCKS. It has been stuck in my head for days, and Cory is at his best, just keeps getting better and better. I'll be checking out there tour schedule. Would love to see them live.
So glad to have found this! My husband and I spent a very intimate and entire evening with Cory by sheer accident a few years ago that we will never forget. RIP our dear friend Cory. You really were lovely to talk and laugh with. You will never be forgotten
Yeah he sure is, I knew Cory in the 80's met him at a Bass Masters Classic, he befriended me. This man is so tender and so sweet! What you see on that stage is real, he pours his heart out for him fans. Still got it baby!!! I miss talking to you, and many thanks for giving me the courage to leave a very very bad relationship. With love always Cory.. Sheila (can't believe I am crying). What memory's Hope to GOD you are happy. Kisssssssss
They need to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, they had 11 top 10 hits and sold out concerts in the 70's.
around 72 they had broken the Beatles recorded for Concert Attendance.
Yet they put Dolly Parton in it!

Man, ALL of the vocals give me the chilly bumps. What fabulous talent. What a great song.
This is the greatest band ever

I saw these boys in the 70's and wow what a sound (live).
Soulful bunch of white guys, none better before or after
Chuck Negron was in the stratosphere. What a voice. See the live version of them in the 70s.
They sold more albums than the Beatles in 1970.

My favourite version of this song. I just love watching Cory rocking out in here.
Me too!
Lord, have mercy in 7/2020. Soulful Cory owns it. RIP. Miss U & ur vocal gift.

And let's remember the person who wrote this song - the amazing Laura Nyro.
For years I just gave them credit for all the songs that they sang and yes... She wrote one hell of a timeless classic
I grew up with Three Dog Night in my radio. From "One" until his passing Cory Wells amazed me with his voice. RIP Cory, you made me happy.

love you always Cory, RIP, see you there,
Love it when Cory shows he can still bust a move near the end.
I have this DVD and it's excellent! They can still sing, high notes and all!

this versions shows the truth about the phrase that cheese, wine, and women only get better with age-because the re-working of "Eli" has only made it much, much better.
