Thank you for posting this, this was a joy to see, it brought a tear to my eye to see the cast unite for Trevor. Its so sad that the whole cast are no longer with us.Are you being served still one of the best shows ever.
So sad that so few are still here in 2023. Peggy Mount was such a lovely lady. The main AYBS cast are now long gone. It was good to be around in the halcyon days of television when there were just three channels. Nowadays, anyone with cheap equipment can call themselves a 'film -maker'. I studied and trained for many years learning the correct way to do it. The normal excuse is ..... 'we are 'artist's' and we choose not to conform'. If you throw out enough crap at the public, they will eventually accept it as normal.
Aspel…It must be strange when your husband goes to work in a frock! Not anymore Michael. I saw Trevor Bannister in a Farce play in London some years ago. He was excellent.
Went on tour with him to The Alhambra Theatre Bradford…’The Mating Game’ in the 80’s. Let’s just say if I’d ever had the opportunity to work with him again, I’d have run a mile. He had a reputation that preceded him. Not wishing to speak I’ll of the dead…I’ll leave it at that.
He was on Are You Being Served then got miffed it was more an ensemble piece than him being the lead and left. The end. Didn’t do anything else of note.
Exactly, he wasn’t fired - he left. Dumb move. His ego took over. Someone once said that all successful actors should put a note, on the mirror in their dressing room, that says: “I’m replaceable”.
But when it started he was the main star. Must have been difficult when Sugden and Inman went past him and he was reduced to being a co star... He himself claimed he left because he was offered a much higher salary to to a touring play. He was offered a return to the show in the grace and favour remake but turned it down
@@duncanholding7636 when you’re in a successful tv comedy series - it’s crazy to leave to do a touring play for a few weeks. Regardless of how much he was paid, the exposure it gave him, would have allowed him to increase his income by personal appearances, interviews, endorsements etc. Whatever way you look at it, it was a dumb move.
@@Inglese001Load of bollox he left cos he was doing a long tour in a play, he was always working the stage. It's not all TV you know 🤦 Plus he did Last of the summer wine for about 10 years hardly on the bones of his arse out of work was he?
I always wondered why, during the heyday of earning good money (AYBS) he never replaced his missing tooth. It was very distracting. And I guess that’s why he keeps covering his mouth with his hand. What is it with the British and their teeth anyway? And I mean rich people like the Queen Mother, etc.
This Is Your Life was made by Thames Television, not the BBC. Although the broadcasting of the programme moved from ITV to the BBC when Thames lost its franchise, it was still made by them not the Beeb.

I only ever knew hım from are you being served. Fascinating story.
thanks for this
Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, it looks like the guy second from the left at 3:20 is Brian Croucher, AKA Travis #2.
Do you have the actress Stephanie Cole’s episode? Thanks

Wonder how Wendy Richards got so much time of EastEnders to be apart of This is your life

I’m in the business too & he did have a reputation!
Sorry to be naive, but reputation for what?
Being an A*hole…
Being an A**h**e…
He was a good actor and obviously loved by many, RIP Trevor and thank you for all the laughs...

He had the talent to have made good on something else. I wonder why the chances didn't come his way again.

I noticed his head had a slight shake, I wonder did he have Parkinson’s or ms
A mix of parkinson's with alkseimers as it seemed his memory then was terrible with most things people were telling him. He died early at 76.
I once saw someone asking him for an autograph and he just walked off in a huff ,
Is it just me who thinks the AI filter on this makes it near unwatchable? So uncanny looking.

BBC Shyte
But at least the people at the BBC will have the intelligence to know how to spell 'shite' correctly.
