It was 1958 when Vincent Price had visited Nafplion Greece. I was working at the reception of the Hotel Amphitryon where he stayed. The night before his arrival I saw his latest film the Fly at the local cinema. In the morning the day after, I was at the front desk, and who showed up from his room! Vincent Price. I was stunned. We talked about this strange coincidence, and to make this story short, he asked me if we could go to the Museum near by. Following this unbelievable connection we went for lunch at a local restaurant by the sea side. Two hours later he departed, for Athens while I stayed in Nafplion for another year, as I came to Canada in 1959. Here I am to this day to tell this by chance remarkable story. George Zubulakis. Toronto Canada December 2023.

I'm 70. I grew up with Vincent Price.
    He was a national treasure.
He could make the phone look sound scary.

Can you imagine being in the Price family & hearing that magnificent voice every day asking, “what’s for dinner?” or “how was your day?”. I’m an 80s kid, so my first appreciation of this legend came from Thriller.

One of the best Horror actors ever. And a very adaptable genius. This is my favourite poem. Love it.

I'm in the process of working up my own recitation. The more I study this poem, the deeper it gets.
Also, IMO, the older one gets the more chilling this poem becomes, particularly if you have experienced loss.
And finally: Think of the link of these two masters collaborating so many decades apart in time. Edgar Allen Poe, master of the macabre, whose work was then brought forward by a master of horror. Best combination possible.

I've always perceived the end of the raven as the narrator literally being driven to death by madness. It makes the most sense to me

@@TheVincentPriceLegacy aw. That's a shame.. so much Hollywood history is "lost".. Either really lost, or just sitting in someone's dusty attic.. Over the years, I've done quite a few amazing restorations, but yet technology continues moving forward and every few years something new comes out.. Either a higher quality capture device or a piece of software that makes improvements... We're LIGHT YEARS ahead of the original capture and editing software, and given time, someone always comes up with something a little better. -- Hopefully, one day, someone finds a few film cans or studio tapes and we'll have a much clearer version of this.... Without question, Mr. Price is one of my all time favorite actors and things like this are wonderful to see.

@@TheVincentPriceLegacy As far as I can research it looks like its from a show from 1985 called The Teller and the Tale. Vincent's performance starts at the 30min mark. The curious thing is it's a slightly different performance, and slightly shorter. However, everything is otherwise identical in almost every way. Not knowing much about the show, and with little info in IMDB, I don't know if there were uncut or other version on the show. But in watching the clip it's darn close match. czcams.com/video/kW59-xmFmJc/video.html
I obviously don't have a tape of the episode, but knowing the show it likely came from is huge step in the right direction.

And another personal fact about me and Vincent Price that me and my mother ( well my mother mainly translated ..) wrote a fan mail postal letter to him….. and we received a heartfelt reply in form of a hand written letter and his autographed photo which was dedicated to me and my mother …..
My mother has since passed away… same as Mr Price but that photo will exit fir my entire lifetime….

I remember we read this story in school in the 1980th in West Berlin Germany…… and I became so obsessed with this story that I actually stole that school book…… my first criminal offense ….. stealing a book just to read that story again and again ….
But luckily it was my only book I stole!
