Good video, I’m a 6 handicap and come out of lock hitting the ball really good but the last two rounds all my irons have been shanking to the point where I don’t want to play!!!

The BEST way to get rid of shanks is to literally line the ball on the hosel at address and try to hit the ball off the toe of the club. You will pure it. This works immediately every time.

You have saved my golfing life. I have never shanked in my life and the past two weeks I could do nothing but. I tried many internet fixes and CZcams videos but your first drill here fixed it literally in the first swing and it stayed fixed for the rest of my session and in my next round. I will continue to use this inside practise swing before every shot. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm not glad you were fighting off the shanks, but it is good to know I'm not the only one. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I was mid-bucket on the driving range and just started shanking every single shot. Got another bucket, shanked every ball. I went again today, same thing. I don't know why this is happening. The more I try to fix it, the worse it's getting. But reading that this drill worked for you gives me hope. I'm going to try this drill out tomorrow and hope It works for me.

@@dfin4588 How did you make out? I'm a solid ball striker and every time I go to the range, it starts shortly into my session. Weirdest thing. Makes me want to quit.

@@extrememetaldrummer1 I'm still fighting shanks. They seem to show up out of nowhere, for no apparent reason that I can pin down. Then it'll go away for a while for no apparent reason. In fact just the other day I started shaking again mid- round. It was so bad I just quit after about 5 holes. I'm still searching for the fix for me.

@@dfin4588 I fought this issue for about almost a week last year and then I felt a certain feel and didn't think about it and it went away. Fast forward almost 11 months and on hole 7 of my 9 holes, I started shanking randomly. Next day, no shank at home. I go back to that same place where I was shanking and hit their driving range. First 5 shots were butter, than nothing but shanks. It's a mental curse and from what I gather and have observed, it comes from closing the face too much and trying to control the impact too much instead of just not thinking about it and letting the club just drop into the slot. That's the best way I can describe it. Really weird huh? Glad someone can identify.

This happens to me if I don't practice at least twice a week, kind of like if my muscle memory fades. If I practice a few days in a row no more shanks.

@@mikehogan9068 Honestly dude, it's so infrequent, but when it does happen, it doesn't want to go away for like a day. Early extension and too closed of a club face I think are what cause it. I haven't had it since the crap range session the other day. Aside from that, I've been golden!
