Man. This guy deserves much bigger production and budget.
Truth.
Totally agree. Great snappy vids, better presenter than anyone on TV in my opinion.
*purplehaze*, I think Mrs Biscuit wants a word with you . . . . ;-)
100% agree. I feel like I'm watching a sketch from Top Gear but for astronomy needs. It's awesome lol
@@Crono_64 The beauty of *Astrobiscuit* is he shows how to make amazing astrophotos using "reasonably affordable" equipment.
I feel that his creativity with his resources are what makes him so spectacular. His understanding of storytelling and editing blows me away.
very muxh appreciated dude. tbh i am really an editor

Plot twist, only us nerds will fork out for Stellina đ€Ł
Itâs hard to conquer a nerd
Thanks for the entertaining side by side. The robots will win eventually, but not today.
After they switch to EQ mounts.
Maybe the robot should use an EQ8-Rh Pro...
Maybe, but half the fun is nerding out on the equipment. I had fun just learning to use the old DSLR I borrowed from my sister. I took my first photos last night and I think I can already tell where this is going lol
If I end up living in a dome with thousands of dollars worth of equipment and eating a can of beans I'm blaming this channel and yours lol
It's true, I really fell in love with the hobby after a B&E of my neighbors house. Their DSLR was sitting on the kitchen table. We nabbed it along with a bunch of jewelry and as we ran from the cops to hide in the dark, unlit, park I remember accidently pointing the camera at what I now know as Orion, and capturing a faint Nebula that looked like a rose bud. I was hooked. From there I hit all the local astrophotography stores building up my Astrophotography empire until one day I was caught (never should have started Astro.Crimimal on instagram). Now, I teach Astronomy as a Senior Professor at my state prison. It's funny how life works out sometimes.
hey Dylan thx for watching. đ I am a fan
This should be a TV show! Kept me on the edge of my seat, and full of good science, and comedy. Loved it.
excellent, makes me very happy
Why tv welcome to the future of entertainment TV will be gone and this is the new TV welcome
So sick of this type of comment. I don't even know anyone that has TV anymore. Might as well say it should be a newspaper article.
Astronomy, astrophotography, great narrative, Chopin, Gustav Holst, Strauss... This channel has EVERYTHING!
Only the British could make a video like this.
This is a true work of art. Someone give this man a tv show.
we need that
A fellow nerd here. I found your channel just a few hours ago and I'm just blown away. Amazing editing, story-telling, music.. You kept me literally glued to the screen. A top shelf find is what you are, mate. Subscribed!
thx fella
This channel is like the Top Gear(The Grand Tour) of astronomy lol
He really resembles Richard Hammond aswell
@@King-balloon haha
I wasn't into astronomy until I saw the way of the biscuit. This channel is gold.
Man, I love these videos. You Sir, deserve a TV show!
Edit: the further into this video I get, the better the production gets. I honestly wouldn't question the quality if i saw this on the BBC
One thing with Stellina, you drag it out by itself and it's working. No dragging the mount out then the scope, collimating it, balancing it, focusing, polar aligning, finding the target, framing it, working out optimal exposures and gain/iso through tests, setting up the guiding... it takes ages, and by then 50% of the time a "clear night" turns cloudy!
Stellina is nice and practical but too expensive. No one with experience would spend that money in this machine instead of building they own rig. And I don't think newbies would spend almost ÂŁ4000 for just to start a new hobby, unless you are from a rich family. Maybe in future stellina will have a competitive price, just not now. Amazing video as always đ€©đ
As well it removes half of the fun, setting your gear up, taking the photos and processing them is the fun of astrophotography!
I am sitting on the fence about starting this hobby, but I am daunted by the steep learning curve. Whereas the robot would take all the fun away and the bragging rights, it would help to compare with what you would be doing. Spending that amount of money on kit that is only supposed to help you is another matter.
@@nmtb1972 think about it this way, what is the point of getting that picture if you dont do the work to get it? At that point you might as well just get an image off of google. most of the time the image you get from this won't even be comparable to a normal astro setup.
@@Scoffslaphead72 So people that don't have the time to pour into the rigging and fiddling and learning etc are excluded from taking part? that's not a great way of look at a hobby. You should be happy that there are coming easier options for people to getting into something you like. more people can take part and expand ideas. more people will learn in a different way and over time upgrade their gear and expand their methods.
@@Threel what I am saying is that the point of this hobby isn't just getting the picture, its the process of getting it. I imagine you can enjoy it without that, but spending $4000 to do that? I would rather spend a bit more time and a lot less money.
Aswell this idea that people who cant afford the time to dedicate to this hobby are excluded is ridiculous. Certain hobbies simply take longer than others, I can play a game on my pc for 10 minutes but I will have to dedicated hours, days or even weeks to assemble and paint models. Now if there was a machine that you could buy that did it for you and it cost $4000, you would most likely feel dissatisfied and with a much lighter wallet.
Fantastically entertaining, and I almost believe that Bunny is real! Cheers!
awesome bunny and I worked hard to try and make it work.

dont even own a telescope, but this content is highly addictive to someone with an interest in space. the only complaint i have is that i want more of it !! :)
Brilliant production and music as always, I mean who could be surprised to see Bunny watching Watership Down :-)
This guys presentation is ridiculously good. The BBC need to give him his own show. Damn - those views over London - amazing he gets any images at all! Brilliant stuff Mr Biscuit!
Haha the parcel delivery bit was brill

Bravo from west coast US!!
Thanking you Sir!!!
@@Riktenstein your soundtrack is awesome! It's perfectly set for the show and its moments.
That's eerily reminiscent of the Portal sentry turrets
"I'm different." i literally thought the same!
To be honest, Portal sentry turret was the first thing, which came into my mind, when seeing this automatic scope xD
Thank you, Biscuit. You rock! I found your channel because I just got the cheaper version of the Stellantis. I was/am overwhelmed with the complexity of the astrophotography to be honest. The robot has opened my eyes to the hobby and I look forward to taking a deeper dive and building my own rigs. I have always enjoyed looking at astrophotography pics and the robots are a great way for us noobs to get introduced and excited about it all. Thanks again. I have really enjoyed your channel.
I need to comment specifically on your focus theory of the achromat. You can fine tune that with an auto focuser. Setting specific points for each color. This I thought was a lost art. An ST80 with mono CCD was once very popular. I absolutely love you went so old school. Great video.
hey fella, yeh the blue channel still need the finge killer filter tho annoyingly... however narrowband is awesome
Definitively this is the best channel on youtube! The production is amazing! Congrats!
Marvelous, this guy must get his own tv channel. His narration and storytelling is out of this world literally.

Awesome video! Thing is, I like both. It'd be fun having a Stellina for quick set-ups, but also having the manual nerdery for those "I have all the time in the world and just want to enjoy setting everything up" times. đ
exactly, i have been looking for a travel soloution nad this could be it, I have lumped my celestreon 8 up a hill and it is hit and miss, whereas this looks a solution giving bith immediacy and raw data for further processing later
We need more of you on CZcams Mr. Biscuit!
I have been WAITING for you to use this telescope! It is INSANE!
Fyi, This is my kid's favorite video. They keep wanting to rewatch it everyday as if it was a Pixar movie or something.
Nice touch adding Watership Down in the background....respect!

Really nice video. Great way to pull it out the bag by using a lum channel. That sort of problem solving is another thing robots can't do! Great entertaining video, solid soundtrack as always and brilliant editing.
cheers bud. i really appreciate it and hope people who dont know check out your brilliant channel @astrofasography
As good as the video content is (and it's very very good), it's the little things (and the attention to details) that I love, like Bunny watching Watership Down @4:56 and the music is just spot on, well done Riktenstein.
Thanks. New vid is coming soon.
I absolutely love your videos, i watch you for 1 year already, you brought alot of magic into my astronomy adventures!
I've been waiting all week for this and I'm very excited
Loved this video, thank you very much for your time and effort.
I loved yours and the robots photos. But sometimes the journey is more important than the destination. So you win!
yeh that is what i think as well, a bad shot of space that has been fought for is worth more than a fancy shot where you just press a button
Agreed!
@@Astrobiscuit Exactly! Plus we all get to watch your fantastic videos too (and other youtubers)
Doesn't matter that 'Stellina costs ÂŁ 4000. I have been looking forward to this video after the trailer, I think Astrobiscuit deserves a lot more audience on CZcams than it does now. I think it's a must to watch, and he always knows how to make / entertain a nice story. Thick Thumbs up! (I don't know Astrobiscuit in person b.t.w)

I had an idea especially for kids just get a red led strip powered by AA short enough to just wrap around bottom legs and now you are forced to walk around the led lights so itd help not bump
Absolutely fascinating video as usual - great insight into the other side of things. I knew you'd end up with a EQ config for the skywatcher. I guess Stellina is like taking a Polaroid Vs using a DSLR. You can get a shot but that's it - you'll always get a similar shot. But with an astro rig you can control every aspect and experiment to get the best shot for that particular target - clusters need different settings to faint nebs. Maybe they will address that in their firmware. And you're always going to be limited with an altaz no matter how fancy you get with the software.
very true sir
I love watership down playing in the background. đ
Was about to say the same thing đ
I hope Rory stops the movie before the end.
It would be awful to see Pink Bunny cry.
love this one as always , the idea of watching peoples live streams is amazing . thank you for making these videos
cool, yeh the live streaming thing is gonna take some work to work. UK has been cloudy for months, we need more international nerds!
That intro bit was beyond good. So much better than a robot could ever do
Super awesome video, honestly your videos are SO FUN to watch.
There surely is potential in roboscopes but this one isn't the greatest design. I think it would be much better if it wasn't as nicely packed but had an equatorial mount. 10 second subs on an alt-az mount won't get you far.
So I think it is a good design because it makes use of modern low read noise, small pixel, small sensor cameras. I think its clever. I also think eq mounts are better. Here is my take on it. www.astrobiscuit.com/roboscope
This channel is the 'Top Gear' of astrophotography
What a fantastic channel, just across it and am blown away how entertaining and informative it is. Thanks
You missed 1 factor for the shootout. I WANT TO TAKE THE PIC. If I wanted a robot I'd Google pics. Or better NASA realised images copyright free. I'm getting my 1st scope Skywatcher 150PDS EQ3 PRO Goto so I'm getting the satisfaction setting everything up and taking the pic. So nerd wins all the time.
exactly! Ive always said (regardless that for the same cost you can get far superior gear) that stellina is like fishing with dynamite. wheres the fun and satisfaction in that?
Great choice! I've found my edge 8 with a dslr smashes stellinasty off the face of the planet with quality without trying.
So you want to do it yourself? With a computerised mount? đ€Ș
@@dalelc43 All it does is find it for you. You still have to do all the photography and processing yourself. And there must be electronic components involved regardless due to the tracking
Spot on - youâve hit the nail on the head. Wtf is the point of paying a lot for something ALREADY being done. âOh but this is meâ.... no itâs not, itâs a robot. So itâs just about the capitalistic need of it âbeing mineâ, and this might make sense if we were talking about the output, but no, itâs the robot that is yours and it also might make sense if I at least produced something really unique and better, for then you could at least say that that particularly good, particularly unique output is somewhat yours, at least as property... but youâre just the owner of mostly similar things and of inferior quality which were taken by a robot of inferior quality. Sounds pointless to me.
Havenât clicked so fast.eagerly waiting for the video
I'm sorry I'm a couple years late watching this but goddamn your story telling abilities are out of this world, much like the images you capture! Please, your highnness, carry on being amazing

Absolute gold man! Loved the editing, loved the music, and most importantly, loved the content! I'm definitely gonna jump on the discord and send you a message about live streaming.
Great video! The first new vid since I found the channel and binge-watched the full library. Looking forward to the next one!
Brilliant. Been waiting ever so patiently to see your results. So, If I wanted to go to a very damp field in deepest darkest Wales to take some images I can see the real advantage of a one off box to do everything I need to get a good image result. There is no lugging of tripod, tracking mount, battery pack, leads, telescope, intervalometer, camera, filter wheel, filters, dew heater, table, PC, spirit level across the cow pats to set up. I'm sure I've forgotten something important there as well.... and will have to drive home to get it; plus I forgot the thermos of tea. Wonderful Biscuiting as ever, thank you!
This is a sound argument, I have tried lugging my Celestron 8 in a bergen up a hill. it is hit and miss. The stellina gives a higher degree of portability even at 25lb and you can see how on target you are in the middle of nowhere and still bring raw data back for further processing
You had me at "the anti-biscuit"..................................rj
Man I loved this video. The discord server is so cool.
I see the appeal of the Stellina. Plug it in and get good results without all the tinkering and steep learning curve.
Of course, the tinkering is the fun for a lot of people. Like computers. Someone wants a computer for the things they can do with it and don't want to fuss with it. Others love the building process and upgrading. I'd get a Stellina if I could afford one!
Man your videos are so awesome. Love it and I aprecciate all your work.
