So, keep in mind this is a LONG video, as its very hard to explain the differences, pros cons etc. Our sss intern paul, from boston MA, got his chance to shine in the spotlight :) so be easy on us. When I was into scooters 15 years ago PWK and Mikunis were the best way to make big power but notoriously hard to tune. Personally I had phbg from 17.5 to 21 and 19 was the sweet spot. The main jet was no big deal, somewhere around 92 or 95 most of the time and the needle had a big influence at half throttle like he mentioned in the video. So yeah, for a mild build 19 PHBG was my weapon of choice.
Currently I have a 21 phbg from polini on my 50cc Pantera. The main jet is a 92 from factory which seems very small but actually performs great. I don't know why they went with a 21 for an engine that small. On 70cc Panteras they went with a 19 PHBG, go figure!

Great video! Do you guys do anything with kymco? I have a super 9 with a 70cc kit and a giannelli reverse pipe still running the stock carb. What carb and size carb should I be running?
What 70 kit ? If its a cast then most run 17.5 to 19 and mhr rep and things like that 19 to 21

I put an 80cc BBK on my 4stroke qmb139 build and I'm wondering what's a good 20mm (or) 21mm carburetor. I got a performance exhaust that's unbaffled, a foam pod filter, and no rev-limiter.

Hey brother hope you’re doing well, I have a question that’s off topic. I have a Honda express2 scooter all original I’m looking to make a GY6 long case swap on it. My question is what would be right size wheel for it? I have 14 inch factory wheels and it would be nice to keep the original size wheels, but I’m concerned that I would need to buy a GY6B engine which can hold a bigger wheel but they’re over 500 dollars for them and I don’t want to spend that kind of money. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance, stay safe out there.

Is the 21phbg too big for my 70cc sport setup on yamaha bws? It doesnt seem to get in tune especially in idle. And would you recommend 21mm or 19mm polini cp carb for airsal t6 racing cylinder which im going to get?
Nah 21phbg is fine for a 70cc sport setup. I had 21phbg with my 70cc malossi sport and it was easy to tune and the power output was good.
@@Kyrpis i figured out that it was sucking air in because of broken gasket so thats why i couldnt get it in tune. If you know, what 70cc setup would you suggest to bws, i would want more powerful setup

Is there any gains swapping to a slide style carb, for the 4stroke, gy6 China engines, over the CV carbs they use? Has anyone made decent power with these engines? Or are they the lada of scoots? I'm running a 50mm bore, ported head, with an A9 cam, (what ever that is worth, no real specs on any of the parts, compared to car parts!) But I have a free flow exhaust, ported intake matched to the head, I'm thinking about trying water methanol injection, I'm building another engine, with a 52mm bore over-size valve head,/with possible stroker crank, for about 95-96cc, I have a 24mm CV. Carb, and a modified nibi 150 intake, matched to the ported head! Im hoping for about 3x stock HP maybe more TQ, I am looking for somewhere to get it balanced, I want to lighten the flywheel/rotor, (everything rotating) I already swapped to a aluminum driven half for the starter gear/variator, about 1step above stock clutch Bell, nothing fancy, I'm mostly concerned with getting the heavier piston balanced with crank, I could potentially be spinning it to 10k-11k maybe more, with the titanium retainers and valve springs, it should easily do 11k (as far as the valve springs are concerned) I'm hoping for enough power to cruise at 40-45mph, with a top speed around 55-60, (with a tail wind, ) but mostly maintain a decent speed up hill, I have another China scoot, I'm going to 150swap, that's what I should have done with the other one, but I already have most of the parts! . and I need to keep it somewhat legal! (Don't tell anyone!) Sorry to ramble,

I mean yes and no. not sure what exactly you are looking for but they don't have power number differences really its relative. comes down to tenability and what you prefer

You can Solder not needed ports in Carburators ...if you not need Vacuum solder it that its closed
On the pwk how do you know what size cable end that goes into the slide?

Does the dellorto 17mm fit on an speedfight 2 original air box? I have a speedfight 2 AC 2004.

The 17,5mm dellorto won’t fit on the speedfight 2 without changing your manifold. The original air box from peugeot won’t fit either.

You can usually use any carb as long as the intake manifold matches the carb port

It’s impossible to say as I don’t know your scooter. Lighter rollers don’t give you more power
Is a stage 6 (i think 26/28mm?) carb too big for a jog with a 70cc kit and exhaust? Has stage 6 r/t reeds too. I bought it used set up like this and the carb just seems big for a 70cc.

i have the phbg for my beamer 2 stroke,just got it for 500 because it needs a cylinder, piston,head kit,guy lost interest,anyway the carb was under the seat,FILTHY scrubbed it,opened it,clean,bobbers fine,no clogged jets,question,you dont think i need a sonic bath anyways right?just cause it WAS cruddy ojn outside?just wanna do it right,im also ordering a 70cc bore kit,polini looks sold out,malossi,naraku is avail

Good informative video. They could be a fair bit shorter(you mentioned it being a bit too long) if you guys just officially swapped places rather than continually allowing Paul to start explaining and then you jumping in and re explaining it all. Paul needs to point a camera at himself all day every day until he gets over his stageless fright. Unless he's like me and just thinks better than he speaks and has a hard time vocalizing thoughts accurately. That's a confidence issue usually and unfortunately not an easy fix. Age will help. I like Paul better if that matters. (No offense meant if you're not Paul. We can't all be Paul)
