I don't care if it's the wrong video that goes with this music oh, because the music is freaking fantastic.

Don’t know whether this was the early or late show, but I was there (early) and the vantage point was pretty much my view. Can’t forget that light show or amount of drums! Last shot is Johnny Winter who was the headliner with Rick Derringer also on guitar. AWESOME to recall! Thanks!

It's good to see any video of the Allman Brothers, there is not a lot of it. I went and saw them play twice in Austin Texas 1971, I was a teenager then. It's still my favorite live music.

Awesome! My all-time band and seen a few times. In 1979 I saw them in Manor, TX. Lineup was Jerry Jeff Walker who was a local here in Austin, Johnny Winter and Allman Brothers Band for a grand total of $10.00! Thanks for sharing!

@@salvyg $7.50 at the Charlotte Coliseum in the early '70s. Bought my 2 young teen son's tickets, also. I was at the very front of the stage at Gregg's keyboard. It was rapture, even if Duane was gone by then. They've always been my favorite band. They were creative, self-trained, and just nailed it on everything they did. You don't find that kind of musical instinct often. Even at my advanced age of 83 now I still listen almost every day to something they did.

Duane's first solo on Mountain Jam, then into Gregg's B3 solo. Ever-present Berry Oakley hitting those notes. Incredible Playing! The band wasn't even two years old at the time of this show.

As a Brit I take issue with anyone claiming that the Eagles are the best American band. For me it's TABB & then CCR.

As an American I'll agree with you on the Allman Brothers. But I'd put the Airplane as second.

As an illegal alien I’m going to agree with both of you for number one but only when Duane was present. I don’t have a 2nd!

Do you have anymore of Johnny Winter footage? Also any thoughts on this historic show. Besides Jimi this was the best 2 bands at the Fillmore East on an evening. I heard Winter And played great also.

      Unfortunately I don't... :(
I found this small super8 film at the end of a VHS I got ways back from a guy I used to trade with but I'm not in touch with anymore. There was no info but thanks to the last moments of the video I realized the film was from the Fillmore East / March '71 nights as those were the only gigs the Allmans and Johnny Winter shared the stage during the Duane era.

Elvin Bishop was also on the venue. Allmans we’re a “Special Added Attraction” which now, is an understatement! Great video regardless. I still have my program.
