    1st let me say you have A LOT of patience. You answered the same question at least 5 times in the comment field when those same questions were answered in either video 1 or 2 already!!! At any rate, I enjoy your thoroughness. Ive been lining my own hair for years now & only go to the barber because I never felt comfortable with fading/tapering it myself, however; your step by step guidance has given me the courage to at least try it out. I'll be sure to touch bases with you afterwards. Thanks

      Hahaha. I was just laughing about that not too long ago, ppl asking questions I've already answered in other vids.
      Good luck with the fading/tapering! It definitely took me a while before I was brave enough to try it myself..but just like anything else, just gotta practice and figure out what works.

    I messed up trying to fade myself using skin fade method from bigger channels. This looks way easier!!! I have a slight quiff/pompadour. So if I taper from the bottom and just cut the top with scissors, I assume I'm good to go? I notice you don't taper the entire area. You don't need to fully taper behind the ears or where your line up is?

    Aye man I'm new to this whole barber thing , I have some old clippers and a t liner. U think my cut would still look good if I used old clips?

    • @bigbluntsbitch5789
      @bigbluntsbitch5789 Před 9 lety

      As long as they agree in still in good working condition I don't see why not! Make sure they are lubricated.

      Big Blunts Bitch I definitely recommend having a 1/16 guard for tapering

    • @CEONTHEMAKING
      @CEONTHEMAKING  Před 9 lety +1

      Thanks, I appreciate it! As long as the clippers are adjustable, and you have the proper guards, I'm sure you can make it work. It took me a while to try anything other than an even all around cut, but at the end of the day the only way to learn is it give it shot...and if you makea mistake, learn from it.

      Okay cool I umm got my haor short and its growing out havent touched my line yet. I guess i might line up sometime next week. Would you recomend that i get it lined first then go from there... I really wanna get the line up done and go from there

    • @CEONTHEMAKING
      @CEONTHEMAKING  Před 9 lety

      Stephen Higgins yea that's not a bad idea to get a line up and go from there. That way when your hair starts to grow, you'll have somewhat of an outline to guide you. That's a good way to learn, by touching yourself up in between shop visits until you feel comfortable taking over completely. Good luck!

      Okay about how long does it take to like get it down. I been following your video guide allot and all.. Whats your name brother?

    • @CEONTHEMAKING
      @CEONTHEMAKING  Před 9 lety

      Stephen Higgins right on man, glad you find the vids helpful. Cutting your own hair just takes practice like anything else. Depending on how often you cut your hair, it'll take at least a few months before you start to get things down. Watching videos will definitely help you learn some tips and tricks, but at the end of the day you have to be fearless and go for it..and then any mistakes you make, make sure you learn from them. My name is Faakir, pronounced fahkeer.

      @mackredsnapper Před 7 lety

      It breaks the wiring inside the cord and causes the appliance to short out. You shouldn't do it to irons either.

    Thanks for the vids man really appriecate it! But I was wondering can you give me some tips on tapering my neck the back please I usually go with a 3 on top! And also tips on tapering the side with a 3 on top as well!! Aha hope you get back man thanks!

    • @CEONTHEMAKING
      @CEONTHEMAKING  Před 10 lety +1

      No problem man, thanks for watching. Tapering the back is basically the exact same process, you're just applying it to a larger area instead of just your sideburn area. You have to get the coordination down in terms of being able to see the back of your head with a mirror. Sooner or later you just gotta go for it haha, practice makes perfect.
      With a number 3 on top, instead of starting the taper with no guard at all, I suggest starting with the smallest guard you have...it should be a #0 or 1/16" guard. I would start off cutting as low as that guard will cut, and if it's not low enough you can always take the guard off and cut it lower. But basically i would start with the #0 and create the initial line, then move the lever to about halfway and gradually start trying to blend into the rest of the hair, and then throw on a number 1 and work with lever as needed. I suggest starting with the lever out, and if you need to adjust it to cut closer you can. You'll have to play around with a few different guards as you can see in my vid. Most of all itll just take practice to find out what works best for you. Hope this helps.
