Just need something to secure the other side of the bike. I'm thinking of a rod that is pinned to a u-bolt set in an indentation (like the seat attachment points in the floor in a minivan) in the center of the truck bed. Unpin the rod when you use the truck for other things (e.g. plywood sheets).
I think the bracket as is is not a complete system (I think what you're saying has merit). I have imagined a chaulk for the front and rear wheels through which another pin could pass. For the time being I'm going to use it as is to determine if additional support is needed in reality, not just only in theory. Thank you for your comment!
Nice idea, what about welding a bushing inside the foot peg so it limits any movement once the pin is dropped in ? I’m thinking of trying out this idea. How’s it working for you. I have a Tacoma as well, I’m sure the rails are strong enough to hold the bikes in place.
I have a feeling the bike still needs to fixed from the other side. The foot peg moves upwards so in bumps the bike might lift a bit and the peg upwards movement will allow it to and might not land in the same spot, shifting gradually.... Maybe another peg mount on the other side that you quickly remove when not needed?

not impressed with the stability of the bike but it is interesting idea! 10/10 for the video, i always enjoy watching people doing creative stuff. thanks for sharing
Update on this set up? Was one bracket sufficient? Did you add front wheel chalks? Curious on how its held up and any updates, because it seems simple yet effective.
I haven't been making project videos for a good while now. I've been working on Dirt Bike videos. I thought you might be interested. I'll look for your comment over there! czcams.com/video/vKDhcGFwSj0/video.html
Footpeg mount, great idea. Shaking the bike with your baby on there .. not quite so much. Appreciate the video! Love the creativity
Nice innovative idea here. Thanks for sharing. Even did the wiggle test with your boy on the bike 😂
Glad you liked it!
Wow. Way to shake the baby!.. nice build
fantastic idea and awesome job !!!!
I'm glad you liked it. 👍
Holy crap this is genius!!!!!
Can we get an update on this setup? Kinda nervous with hard turns and bumps I’d lose my bike. Love the idea though
Nice video and system.

@@TheConcreteBox A front wheel chok would be a great idea as it will also stabilize the bike till you go around and pin it in.
I hate tie downs too!
Guys never heard of chain lube
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Really sturdy. Bearly jostled the handle grip.....lol....I kid I kid...but if 2 are in place. It would be fine...

It's simple. I don't use any front wheel chalk but I'd recommend it!

MAN OH MAN I LOVE THAT CONCEPT...Only concern on my 2010 Taco is those rails are flimsy ?
You'd be surprised how strong they are.
Nice ankle biters
