Thank-you for the tie down "hacks". They are both super simple, cost effective and extremely functional. When I'm rolling 9 - 700 Yamaha Tenere's (tour Company) into my 28' enclosed trailer i do not want wheel chocks, Rigid foot peg thingy's impeding a quick load by 1 person. Your problem solving ability is a "superpower".

I'm trying to load a dirt bike or two in a 6x12 enclosed trailer along with my street bike. The street bike requires a wheel chock. But adding additional chocks for the dirt bikes would just create an obstacle course for loading the big bike. Securing them using your method is the perfect solution.
Thanks for taking the time to share it here with us.

Thanks for sharing, this looks like a very inexpensive and effective way of securing the bikes.

Sir, You are brilliant! this is one the best DIY tips I've ever seen...seriously! I'm going to experiment with a couple different ideas, but I a have a ton of E-track and L-track in our toy-hauler and pickup truck. I've been working on different chocks and straps for years, but the footpegs mounts are great. They give me different and flexible mounting options with a family of bikes in tight spots without having traditional tie-downs. Thanks for the great video, and if I come up with a good mod, I'll send you a link and credit. -Jeff

Thanks, yeah I like the fact I don't need a wide base in front to tie the bars down. Also all the compression is dispersed evenly across the suspension so no blocks are needed under the fender. Let me know what you come with!

I strap to my pegs as well, only difference is I modify a stand that barely slides under the frame and then ratchet it down. Rough roads can’t shake it loose as it’s sitting on a stand and is solid

This is great! I suppose to further reduce hassle, you could make the one side strap (far side) a fixed length so you could just lean the bike that way to hook it, then only have to tighten the other side down as you pull the bike back towards you. You could probly even reach the far side from under the bike while leaning it away from you for shorter people that can’t reach over to the ground and don’t want to have to walk around the bike.
I’m going to try this today.

using turnbuckles with carabiners achieves the same thing with way less hassle of welding and rigging the system up.

Try welding a heavy duty D ring instead of the hook. I use them in the back of my truck cause I got tired of the hooks falling off when I picked them up

Fantastic idea. Do you think the load strap solution would be strong and reliable enough for an Africa Twin (500+lbs)?

Great video. May I offer a suggestion? Have the tie-down pull strap upside down, reverse direction. That way when you're leaning over the bike seat you can pull up towards you to tighten the strap. YMMV

That's exactly how I did the regular hook tie downs. When I switched to these, the buckle is used to hook the peg so I had to use it this way. I would have to weld an etrak mount to flip it....and add a hook...room for improvement I guess..

They work good to, just not as fast to hook up and tighten down.

Check your valves, I have another video about hard start when cold and easy start when hot. It's a CRF hard start video.
