    At least, Nicole was not greedy unlike the contestants that I have been seeing in season 47 who are just too greedy and want to go for the big and end up losing everything.

    I'll be honest, Nicole should have went for the $16,000 because that Reddi Whip had $3.29 written all over it. There was no way those Mr. Clean pads were that price plus she sounded confident in her choice of Reddi Whip when she was asked what goes in the $16,000 bag. Also, $84,000 she bid on her showcase? WTF?

    Holy smokes - she was over by more than the guy who tried to bid $250,000 on a showcase that ended up bidding $60,000 on a package that was worth around $20K.
    She didn't even seem to realize what a mistake she had made until Eric made his $1 bid. Then her facial expression seemed to show everything.

    DJ Whitaker, there was more than just that Jeep in Nicole's showcase, duh. But yeah, still... $84K for what was in there? Even if I hadn't seen the correct price already, I'd say "No way!"

    She did really well on pricing everything to get to the showcase then blew it by bidding WAY too high , that was a dumb bid , to say the least ,.

    Nicole is beautiful, I think she was smart to purposely overbid. I hate that the IRS gets to tax winning from a game show. Ever tried getting on a game show it's harder than getting a job.

      Could you remember 3 Jeeps in TPiR, that one happened in a MDS #18 (Clock Game Million dollar winner).

    At least Drew wants to go question Nicole to make her explain why she bid $84,000...if she can "realize" she screwed up by the commercial break, she can realize it just as well when the audience BOOS AT HER!!

  • @NightHawk12to81
    @NightHawk12to81 Před 10 lety +4

    Actually, her facial expression looks like the cat who ate the canary. I would bet that Nicole intentionally overbid on the showcase in order to take her money and run. She already had $8,000 from her pricing game, $4,800 of which was hers to keep after taxes. By winning the showcase, she would have lost all of that cash to the government, plus been on the hook for an $8,000 tax bill to claim her prizes.
    Instead, she gave Eric an impossibly easy win and stuck him with a $15,000 tax bill while she skated away with an additional $4,800 to her name. Nicole might be the smartest blonde in the history of television.

      Well, let's see now... OR... couldn't you just *sell* your winnings and then use part of the money to pay the taxes?
      What if there were a game show who said that they would even pay the gift taxes for you? The gov't shouldn't really care *who* pays the taxes as long as they get their portion, right?

    • @NightHawk12to81
      @NightHawk12to81 Před 8 lety

      No, you cannot, you have to pay the taxes first in order to get your prizes, and you can't sell something you don't have. I suppose that a game show could pay the gift taxes for you, but this show does not do so.

    • @HelloKittyFanMan.
      @HelloKittyFanMan. Před 8 lety

      Duh, NightHawk12to81, I know this show doesn't do that.
      And yeah, you could sell the gifts, before they were in your physical possession yet, because you could show pictures of them, say that you'll deliver upon receipt of your money, and then pay your taxes and then get them, and then deliver.
      But why should you have to pay taxes on something that you don't own yet?

    • @NightHawk12to81
      @NightHawk12to81 Před 8 lety

      No, you cannot do that. It's not allowed, and contestants on the show have said that it isn't allowed. And that's the government's rule, you have to pay the taxes in order to get your prizes. That's how gift taxes work.

    • @HelloKittyFanMan.
      @HelloKittyFanMan. Před 8 lety

      I already *said* that you'd pay for your taxes and then get the prices, NightHawk12to81. The government can't stop you from advertising them, though, and they can't stop you from collecting on those things before you have them in your possession. That's what a turnkey sale is. If you're allowed to come and see your vehicle before you get to take it home, then the buyer could come and see it with you. As for the title, the buyer could give you the money and then you could pay the tax on it and register it as expected, and then turn right around and reassign the title and register it.

    Let me explain my theory of what happened in the showcase. Eric and Nicole met while the show was on commercial break. One of them told the other about a sure way for them both to win in the showcase round. The first person WAY overbids for their showcase, then the second person bids $1. Then they sell the prizes in the showcase and split the earnings 50/50. Both come away guaranteed winners. Shake on the deal, done. Nicole is obviously relatively informed when it comes to pricing judging by her getting every product right on "It's in the Bag." I can't see how she would nail all of those prices and then suddenly bid almost 3x too much on the showcase. Just my 2 cents.

    • @davidlevy706
      @davidlevy706 Před 5 lety +1

      Your theory requires a _higher_ level of idiocy on Nicole's part than simply taking the situation at face value.
