The best biryani I've had in Delhi is from this small eatery in Munirka called Sahil. They make awesome malabar biryani. They deliver it home too, I believe.

Adding the segment with the delivery boys was kick ass. Another thing to mention is that people should also tip these boys, this job isn't easy by any means and they are at it come rain or heat.
In other news, mutton biryani is the only biryani. Everything else is pulao :P

Biryani is gravy cooked rice and pulav is water/stock cooked in layman's language and yes there is veg biryani & chicken biryani and also veg pulav and chicken pulav, so all 4 dishes are different. 👍👍👍now go and enjoy the meal bro

Rom K there’s no gravy in Hyderabadi biryani. So it’s not Biryani according to you. Biryani came from Persia and evolved in India. There are many variations of Biryani in India with Hyderabadi being the most popular and arguably the best. As far as pulao is concerned it has lesser ingredients than biryani and the process is also simpler. And yes both veg/chicken/mutton/fish/prawn biryani and pulao exist. Hope that clarifies.

Once visit Biryani Deccan in Karol Bagh. By far the best Hiderabadi biryani in Delhi .. This is also Halal Certified ... They serve the best Biryani .. It can easily beat Bikkagne and can give tough competition to Biryani Blues

For the first time, I saw a clean kitchen in India
Factually speaking, biryani never had rice in it, it was rich mutton stew, of sorts. Rice was added to the recipe to increase its volume for feeding the army, when Persians came towards Hindustan. So the present form of biryani is too an improvisation, therefore veg biryani can be a thing for sure.

1.Yakhni pulao is something in which the all the ingredients are cooked in its own stock..whereas biryani is not cooked that way.
2. LAYERING- Biryani is layered with gravy and rice alternatively and served like that.

In layman terms, Pilaf/Pulav/Pulao is a one pot dish. In Biryani, rice and meat are cooked/semi cooked seperately and then layered together till both get completely cooked.
