Back when engines sound like engines.. A+
It does sound good
lol modern engines are superior in everyway
@@TeznaGFX I guess you are not aware Two strokes are still being manufactured 2023 ?
Man these early 80's bikes were so cool! 😁 My personal favorites.
Me two!
That'd be a fun bike to own to blast down some logging roads & sweet trails. Cool bike!!
What really amazes me is how you find so many old bikes that look 👀 so amazing and in such great condition. You are the Sherlock Holmes of the motorcycle world!
I bought one of these in 1987 at a dollar a cc. Loved it
Bring back the air cooled 2 strokes. 👍🏻
KDX flywheel gave that thing the best low speed manners, and smooth tractability, and it still had the lungs to pull hard all the way to redline. Woods weapon here in W. Michigan too, a few hours on the North Country Trail would be a blast no doubt. Beautiful bike.
Those were the good old days
The good old days...
It would be the icing on the cake if it had the Tool Bag. Excellent bike!👍
🇦🇺😎👍I don’t remember ever seeing those KDX450s down here in the 1980s
Wow what a nice bike I'm in Australia and didn't know they made them in a big bore only ever seen them in a 200 out here
Liking that 1990 CR photo bombing in the background.
That bad boy looks and runs as new. What a beautiful machine.
Well maintained/ set up drum brakes are totally adequate.
A mean green woods weapon 🏁
Nice bike. I have a 1983 KDX 250 my brother bought new. Runs great.
Looks great 💨💪never knew they existed, haven't seen one here in Australia.
Wow love it TEAM GREEN 👍🏁
Kawasaki lets the good times roll!
Always wanted one of those.
Kenny , that's such a cool bike. I remember the 1980 kdx400 in cycle world . They said the 400 would do 220mph with plenty of throttle to go still. I never new there was a 450 version. Really cool too see
Now that sounds like a stump pulling machine Ken real nice
I'm a yamaha guy but I love this bike!
Wow such an impressive looking bike on sheer size and height alone what a standout machine just beautiful!
Very nice! The pipe looks like a 125 pipe...awesome bike!
Rare bike i can remember learning how to ride on that exact bike my uncle had one so fun in the woods digging ruts at 10 years old i must have dropped it fifty times and he would start it right back up again 😅
Aloha from Hawaii! Classic old bore woodsmachine.Look up Kauai labor day Hare and Hound races.🤙🏼
Man I want this bike!
Nice i havent seen one in a long time
Ken im sorry you have to test all these cool old bikes lol . If you need help testing them let me know lol . Cheers Ken love the bikes and all your videos
I trail rode with a group in my teens. I had a 1981 husky cr 250 and the one guy had a kdx 420.
That Kawasaki is killer!!
Big bore air cooled. No power valve, drum brakes.. WOW That's retro 🔥 soul .... hold my beer 🐒
Nice bike
1982❤
😍
👌🏻
foundations r running 4 there lives
I had one of these couldn’t keep it from sheering key ways but when it was running nothing could catch atleast nothing that was hanging around
I always liked the ..."here is where your taillight would go, if you were a pussy" on the rear fender.
Keeping those plastics green (un-faded) and un-brittle is difficult. =Very few original left.
Just that one ding 😢
00:34 thats where the microphone picks up the pang the best
Never seen one of these. Not sure if they made it down under 👍🏻
Beautiful survivor...no speedo?
The dent doesn't effect it's structure. The dent in the frame rail could be filled with brazing rod, sanded smooth and painted. It would look mint again.
Nice bike to get lost in the woods on, especially if the light works.
Kawasakis were great bikes I don't think they took a back seat to Honda or Yamaha
They didn't take a back seat, Kawasaki's actually rode in the trunk, while Suzuki and KTM followed far behind. You can't beat a Honda.
Ken take it to union ct hare scramble July. Test it
I tought chain and sprockets always was replaced at the same time.
You would think some where along the lines , that KDX 450 would some what compare to a CR500, or KX500 or RM 500 , KDX's are dogs lol, but i still like um 👍
Not bad for a Kawi
Wonder how much better it would Run with a DG pipe and Silencer and Boyesen Reeds’
Is there a way to ship it to germany (for my coasts) and make it street legal in germany (i'll pay for it) so that when i get it its just like ready to go?
Yes
all it needs is some turn signals and a tail light
I like👍👍👍🇲🇨
Going to work is never work when you have so much fun, riding a Kdx Big Bore!!!!
One nice looking bike. Would be fun to take her out, on the trails, in the woods. I bet she hauls ass.
Do you guys sell these vintage bikes? Kx500s cr500s rm500s?
Yes
@@KaplanCycles thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll be taking a trip sometime to check it out.
Third view, third like!
The Trail Goblin. Also known as a "KDX". The holy grail of KDX's is the 220R. A major competitor for these models were the Yamaha IT's, my favorite was the 490.
The blue it 490 Yamaha? Had one thing ran strong
@@ericlaney8893 blue and yeller she was. extremely reliable trail bike. while although I consider the XR400R the ultimate trail bike, the IT and KDX are also in the top three. Of course the CRF450X dominates the trails nowadays. 🏁
Needs a good tune.
😂🎉😂Unici 😅
Classic 💯
Thats sweet !
