I feel like Ibanez's only downside was the lack of a neck through design. Now they gave up! But a couple of Fishman Fluence HH there would make this the best guitar all around. Antique Brown is definitely one of the best looking guitars I've seen.
Best demo of the premium models till now cause all the other video on other channels about these Ibanez new models have bad lighting

Same here LOL I have over 50 guitars and basses and even some older Ibanez's (Because I have a recording studio) but I may add this.
I got this guitar and it pisses all over my Jackson soloist. Tuning stability is miles and miles and miles better and it’s really comfortable to play with that flat fingerboard.
Just bought the 1220 (the brown one). Beautiful guitar, plays and sounds great!! The only mod I’ve done to it was put a brass block and claw in it and noiseless strings. The original Ibanez edge trem is my favorite but they come with wimpy blocks. I haven’t had much luck with dimarzio tone zone pups in the past but they can sound good in the right guitar and they seem to fit this guitar very well. This guitar obviously comes stock with a treble bleed. Normally I would take this out but it suits this guitar very well and makes it even more versatile. You can dial out some of the heavy bottom end and increase dynamic range with the treble bleed with these high gain pups giving you more of a vintage’ee tone and feel. Sounds great when splitting coils for clean tones. I can dial in the perfect “Metallica clean sound” with this guitar. Just use both north coils, a little chorus, delay, verb and you’re there. Highly recommended for any one that can look past the (prestige/premium) name and just look at the specs. The thing that mostly steered me away from premium models was the cheaper edge zero II bridges they came with. This model has the original edge. And with the neck through construction I was sold and I wasn’t even looking for a guitar. Another thing I noticed when shopping for one was I could not find 1 used one for sale. So I assume people must be holding on to them once they buy em

I’m curious how these guitars compare to the prestige! Anyone care to share any experience on this.
I have one of these and a 2000 RGT2020 Prestige. They feel nearly identical when you pick them up. There are more sound options with the 1220 due to the mini toggle. It's hard to describe, but the with the Japanese 2020 you just "feel the craftsmanship"; it becomes a part of your body. Also note that the 1220 will require a little bit of setup (action, truss rod), but not too much. That having been said, the 1220 has better fretwork (the stainless frets and the "premium fret edge treatment" is the real selling point of these Premium guitars). You sacrifice a little bit in the electronics (pots, switches; not pickups). I'd say that the 1220 Premium is 85% of the Prestige (but with stainless frets!), at 65% of the cost. For $1000 less than the Prestige, you're still getting a hell of a guitar.

Doing tone test with heavy effects and compression tells me nothing about the tone. Lol use clean sound then do tone test.
Question is, what do you expect from a high output shred/metal/rock pickup to sound like on a raw clean channel... it will never be clean anyway and probably sound rather "usual" or "unspectecular" ... those guitars and PUs are made for highgain sounds, thats why we tried to show them in that context :)
