As soon as Samsung announced 8 gen 2 across the board, I knew this device was gonna be the best this year
I kept all my settings the same and scaled down the power. This past weekend, I took it off the charger at 6:30 AM. At about 11:45 PM, I was at 16% with moderate to heavy use all day.
Hey Adam as always a spot on video from you. I was quick to pass judgement on the S23U but bought a second one in the last few days. I agree it's possibly the best phone Samsung have made since the S10 series. It does not disappoint. So much so I've had to retire my beloved Pixel 6A and Pixel 7 Pro. Great job Samsung!

I've had the S23 ultra for about 1 week and this is the best sumsung phone ive had with really good battery life. Especially for me living in the UK where we wasn't getting the Snapdragon version
Samsung addressed most s22u issues that's why this phone is awesome,I'm just waiting for better trade in deal to upgrade

I decided to try the s23 ultra out and see if it was worth an upgrade from my z fold 4 and....... my Fold 4 is heading back to Samsung. The s23 Ultra is simply fantastic and much better in almost every way from my z fold 4

Another great video on this phone. I was considering buying the Samsung S 23+, but I’m leaning more to the ultra. I am legally blind, and I believe this would help more with vision issues as well. I was hoping you may have put a link to the screen protector that you mentioned. It will be hard for me to see to do it but I want one that is highly recommended. 👍🏻

Really enjoying mine and just am trying to find the right case. Screen is amazing, performance keeps going without a hiccup, battery life is amazing (though wish AA wireless didn't drain it so much), the camera is insane, and overall am happy I upgraded from the s22 base. Well worth the upgrade and don't think anything is going to slow down this phone over the next 3-4 years, which hopefully I will be able to stop myself from upgrading to any other device. That tech bug hit hard though.

Great video! I somewhat agree with you about the S23 Ultra as I own it myself, but I believe that the Note 9 was Samsung's best phone ever before going the Apple iPhone route as the Note 9 still had a headphone jack, the IR Blaster and most importantly micro SD card expansion.

The note 4 was my first smartfone I've owned back in 2015 and was very happy with it. Now that I own both the S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra, I put the S23 Ultra away and still use the S22 Ultra to get the most out of it and when I need the better replacement of the S23 Ultra, I have it! Very excellent Fones ~

Hello, I would like to know if the phone supports GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS (L1), BDS (B1I+B1c+B2a), GALILEO (E1+E5a), QZSS (L1+L5), NavIC (L5), and how they are the cameras perform during the day and especially at night, and how are the photos and videos at night, but I'm interested in the zoom cameras, and I'm interested in whether the phone can compete with other leading phones of this year.
It's the best phone, period not just Samsung. I have 14 pro max and 7 pro also.
Agree with you. Have 13 pro max as well. However, I found the speakers are not as great as the iPhone. Maybe got a bad phone?
Also, battery life is either equal or better than the iPhone 13 Pro Max

I've bought every Note phone since the Note 3. (Didn't buy the Note 7, thank God 🔥 ha). Having said that, it's always been a "slight upgrade" year over year. The Note 8 seemed like a large jump at the time. The S23 Ultra is the biggest year over year upgrade so far. Everything you talked about in this video is so accurate. Samsung (finally) nailed it with the S23 Ultra!
I think the S23U is the Fiesta ST of flagship devices for the year. When that car dropped, a lot of reviewers bought personal copies and drove them because they were just that good and well calibrated to journalistic expectations. Giving the loaners back left a hole.

Best phone out there by a mile - Samsung have smashed it.. Apple need to do more than add USB C and new colours to compete.

As of today, where do you stand with your pick between the s23 ultra and the fold 4. I have both of them sitting in front of me and have one week left to make a decision on which to keep. The fold 4 was bought on launch day and is already owned. I have to decide whether I am returning my 23 ultra in my return period and keeping the fold 4 or keeping the 23 ultra and sending in the fold as my trade in. I love your videos and think very similar to you when it comes to tech. I love the fold's big screen but find myself frustrated with the smaller screen. The 23 ultra battery is great and It is a good balance of decent size screen and great camera. I value your opinion! I just worry that I will get bored of the ultra screen and miss the big screen on the fold for gaming and watching content.
That’s a hard one right there. I have food 4 ad I’m trying to decide if I’m going to keep it or trade for s23 ultra. Just scared I’d miss the big inner screen. Absolutely love it

I found "Adaptive Power Saving" on my S22 Ultra, which is great. It kicks off based on my usage.
Please turn off the "Save selfies as previewed" option in your camera settings! It looks like you are using an iPhone with all of the backward wording in your selfies. Great video!

I just ordered a Samsung S23 Ultra cream colored, gorgeous phone. I upgraded from my Samsung S9 plus. That was an awesome cellphone I will miss using it, had it for over 6 years. Android is the best, Samsung are the best phones ever. Apple are ok, but people have to realize they get their screens from Samsung. Apple still slow their phones down to make people upgrade. Samsung doesn't do that at all. Samsung forever! The cameras are amazing! I will not upgrade my phone probably for the next 15 years lol. I have over 500 GB, you can easily add memory. More then enough I will ever need. Amazing! Then on top of it Samsung makes the best Flat-screen televisions as well.

Look I agree with you in some ways but when you have a Samsung Flagship like the ultraline it's hard to switch to anything else because it's just Superior in so many ways and plus I love theming my phone they have the theme store on Samsung and they have the good lock system that once you get used to that I had the pixel 6 but I had to switch back to the galaxies because you just can't do that much on the pixel sure you can customize it but nothing remotely close to the good luck and theming engine that Samsung has the only thing even close to it was LG when they had their theme sore too but Samsung's is just on another level with good luck and everything and it's hard to switch away from a Galaxy even though I love the pixels 2

When you are in the camera app, go to video on the selfie camera. It's UHD60. That's 4K60

I've been using iPhones past 10 years. Bought s23u 2 weeks ago and i'm pretty happy i guess but in the meantime i bought 14pm and still got in unpacked and i can't decide whether i should return 14pm to the store and stay with s23u or i should stay loyal to iPhone and get rid of the s23u. Im not bounded to the Apple ecosystem, phones were always the only their products i've been using. I use my phone to go through the social media, watch some youtube/netflix/hbo and very rarely play some games. I like having decent camera and that really bothers me since i feel like s23u's camera is very inconsistent - it can take brilliant picture while the next one will be total crap. Before buying those two i was using 11p and i can't say a bad word on its camera and for sure i can't say it's inconsistent. Any advice?

Sounds like you should just stay with the iPhone. I have both the 13 Pro Max and the S23 Ultra and the pictures on from the S23 Ultra are consistently better. Not every other or sometimes, but consistently better. Not that the 13 Pro is bad. It's not. It takes very good pictures but not as good as the S23 in my opinion. My iphone 14/14Pro using family agrees. They still are not giving up the iPhone though and that's ok.
My plan was to buy the s23 ultra in the hopes that they provide better trade in deals for the s22 ultra in a couple of months but I'm starting to think that it's never going to happen considering how good its performing. Now I don't know if I should just get it now or keep waiting. Is anyone on the same predicament as I'm in?

I can't really say anything about S23ultra cause I'm still using s22ultra after a year this phone is performing superb mine is set with no throttling I may consider upgrading if trade in deals improve right now I'm not trading in s22ultra for 600.00 and I don't do bill credits for 36 months either so I'll just wait...

I did charge my phone YESTERDAY. I used it moderately, 2K at 120 Hz, instagram, Spotify on car Bluetooth, normal phone calls, WhatsApp on 5G.... Today I was at 15% at 8 pm!
I love this phone but my battery has been average definitely not as great as other people or getting. Not sure if I should factory reset or not but it lasts the same as my 22 ultra. Had I paid full price for it I'd honestly be disappointed but Google Fi had it half off at the time and I snagged it. Definitely the best in all other regards though.
It's seems there's no Feature Drop today from Google...
I was on a trip to Disney and the phone the battery lasted all day tremendous phone and the photos at night spectacular I do not regret having changed from the s22 Ultra to the s23 Ultra

My Fold 4 when taking pictures outside on Sunny day getting alot of white or over to much light in pictures. Help.

I'm no longer a iPhone user. I have my reasons but they make a good product always have. The s23 ultra is a great phone but so is the iPhone 14 pro max. If you're hooked to imessage I would just stick to the iPhone. If your not then I think the s23 ultra is a little better just because of customization. If your expecting some huge upgrade from what you have this isn't it. The iPhone 14 pro max is a excellent phone also. If you're sick of apples walls then the s23 ultra would be a good option to get away from it. I love android and I truly believe it's the future just because of its customization. If you have a great job and love tech then I say go for it but if you don't just stick with what you have.

@Maria Elena Cabrera Yup one more thing. Don't let iphone users put you down if you do get one. Because the truth is the s23 ultra is the bad boy on the block right now. And I guarantee you if you whip out your s pen in front of them or charge their battery on their iPhone with reverse wireless charging it will make them jealous. I get alot of shit using android but at the end of the day all the new flagships are nice. Apple might do some things better but android does way more. It's not even close.

The s22 ultra battery is fine, i get anywhere between 6-7.5 hours of SOT, currently im 4.5 hrs SOT with 43% left
I have tried the iPhone 14 pro max , 15 pro regular, fold 5 ,flip 5, pixel 7 pro and I always have returned to the s23 ultra this year I think I'm just going to keep my s23 ultra forward until something absolutely smashes out the park.
I like to keep my phones on 60 hz and turn off animations. That's how you make anything feel snappy

Everything runs smoothly and quickly. Completely effortless. Super good picture quality. The battery lasts forever. If you only have it in your pocket, or at work in the closet - it really refuses to consume battery. A huge difference from the S21U.

Battery life no nothing tops the iPhone 13 pro max I've had both and imma Samsung enthusiast but that battery has no equal. Samsung wins in every other category though.

However with the Samsung u get multitasking, Dex, wireless power share, apps edge, Bluetooth spen, faster charging, more customization, video wallpapers and call backgrounds, always on display, brighter screen, more camera zoom. I'd say the pros outweigh the slightly less battery lol

What's the best glass screen protector for this phone that works with a case?
I think WhiteStone Dome is pretty good, it's a bit expensive but i've seen a lot of video's were the cases fit with the glass screenprotector.
@@Jens_Roadster from my experience I agree with this. It’s typically what I recommend for a glass screen protector for Samsungs with curved displays. It cost a few pennies but it works and it’s worth it.

I own the S23 ultra and the S Pen fonctionnality is a little bit boring! We can't scroll on youtube and Facebook, etc! Mouse fonctionnality should be a great tool but for now S-Pen is a gadget boring for me!
Also the virtual keyboard samsung is bad for me,

I downloaded SwiftKey who is the closest of BlackBerry 10 virtual keyboard but It is not up to the Blackberry z10 and Z30 virtual keyboard!

Pixel 5 came with 7 series chip .. not 8
The only problem I found was on CZcams. When watching CZcams and typing on comments, it slows down the typing on the S23 Ultra.

If money isn’t a concern and you want a phone that can open out onto a tablet, get the Fold 4, but if money is a concern and you don’t want the huge food screen, or want a better camera, get the s23 ultra.

I had mine for 2 weeks and the battery was not great. 4 hours screen on time and I was at 15% by 6pm. I returned it.

You may have had a bad battery i get an easy 12hour screen on time with and i use it heavy you should have disabled or uninstalled the bloatware trust me this phone makes it through a whoke day with heavy heavy use and still has a lil over 40% battery the next day

@@justjoshing75 i received it today, its super snappy, downloaded and opened like 25 apps included 3 games to test how it would affect the phone speed, but it was still super snappy. No lag at all. Iam still thinking to return it also, 12gb gives me ease of mind I think. But dang I like this phone alot (coming from iphone 12 pro max).
I saw that the base 23 and 23+ come standard with 8gb of ram. Then I think 8gb should be plenty for the next 3 years atleast 🙄. Hard choice
@@justjoshing75 update: i just filled the application to return it. 8gb just doesnt feel right for a flagship phone. I rather pay 70 euros extra for more ram and storage. Also its a very very expensive phone, better to pay that extra bit for better specs, atleast thats my thought proces.

I've had it for 10 days and the typing experience is just horrible. How they have managed to keep the keyboard experience this bad is beyond me. It's like it tries to screw up any word it can.
I've tried gboard on here snd I can't say it's any better. I had a pixel custom rom on my last phone and the experience was top notch. The voice typing was insanely goof with Google voice assistant typing.
The voice typing on the s23 ultra...takes more time than typing because you have to correct half of what it writes.
Let me try it right here and see how well it. Does the voice typing on the Samsung Galaxy S20? 3 ultra is so bad that it's hard to believe that this is the most expensive flagship phone on the market.

I find it a little weird that no one is talking about it either.
Im split on if I like the S23 Ultra or not. My biggest complaint Im not sure I can get past is the scrolling and ghosting/blur of the text as the screen scrolls. I know thats a common thing with AMOLEDs but I find it very annoying and hard to read. I am also noticing some stutters and lagging when going between screens. I didnt know I was going have to get a gym membership to be able to hold on to it. This thing is heavy!!! Im afraid to drop it and it break my toes ha. But this one has me really confused , at full brightness my Moto Edge 2022 is brighter then the S23 Ultra. I have to use the Extra Brightness to get it brighter than the Edge 2022. But maybe thats how its supposed to be? It seems like a solid phone otherwise I think
