- A young Palestinian couple plans to marry in a refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon.
Hassan and Wafaa meet in a Dabke dance centre in the Shatila refugee camp and fall in love. They get engaged and start planning their future life together - but first, they need to find a home.
However, options are limited for Hassan, who faces financial difficulties. As the couple searches for a suitable and affordable solution, they have to decide which is better - building or renting an apartment. Which can they afford?
This film paints a picture of the challenges facing young Palestinians as they start their lives in refugee camps in Lebanon and across the Middle East.

Thank you for showing the cruelty of Lebanon. It barely gets reported
Such a joy to watch this story as it evolved. I feel bad that they couldn't get exactly what they would have liked at an affordable price. BUT, when they were together again after 4 months and they said it was like they'd never been apart, I thought, "That's because HE is home, and SHE is home, in just being together!" Whether they realized it or not, they figured out already how you stay happily married! HOME is the two together, wherever the location!
Awesome film! I wish this couple and all the people there every happiness!
God bless you, from Iowa, USA!
@@tsukeisawa7786 The people there are amazingly strong! I find Palestinians to be really tough but caring and generous people! And I've wanted to see Lebanon since I was a little girl. When I was in the 2nd grade, at Sunday School we were each given our own brand new Bible. In the middle were pictures, and the only one I remember was a lone Cedar tree on a hill in Lebanon. It was a love at first sight thing, I guess!
As an adult, I've never had the money to travel so these kinds of films and meeting people in the Middle East on social media has been a huge blessing to me!
I wish their lives were easier, though. Very good people!
@@tsukeisawa7786 Lets not forget the cruelty of the injustice brought upon these people by the Zionists when they were expelled from their homes in Palestine.
"If the stairs weren't narrow I would've carried you..." "Move Away!" Had me rolling! Loved this documentary and all the best to this couple. Would love to see a sequel.
There is another of this couple, a prequel
This was the most wonderful tale. A true modern version of Romeo and Juliet, profoundly set in a refugee camp of desperate circumstances. Having no answers to the problems they face, I only pray that everyone there and throughout the Middle East find peace, so that we may all live without hate. One more thing: Love should not be this difficult to culminate.
We're glad you liked it, dear Joseph. Thanks for your comment. 🙌
Romeo and Juliet, realllllly??????
@@maxbygrapes3681 Yes, Romeo and Juliet. Love still flourishes in the most difficult of places, you can’t take the love away. Just because it’s poverty and hard to live there, doesn’t make the love story any less beautiful. I have lived in very poor villages here in Egypt, things are a little like you see here in some places, it’s poverty, but in spite of it all we celebrate the bride and groom, celebrate their marriage as a community, and find happiness wherever and whenever you get it.
It's clearly not a camp
Romeo and Juliette? This is going to end badly didn’t you notice every time she was near the expensive apartment complexes in Beirut shed pick a fight with him
Engaged for 6 Years!!! Wow that's a lot of patience. Thank God they still made it work and happen despite these challenges..I wish the couple all happiness..
They're not monkey's.
May all the oppressed have the best houses in paradise, have the best food and never worry about anything❤❤❤
Hassan your words" I think we should paint and finish one room to feel that we have done something"..🥺.. Oh man you and your family desreve all happiness as anyone in this world deserves... How beautiful Palestine is and how beautiful the people of Palestine are.. But where are you struggling in narrow streets of already struggling lebanone.. 🥺... May Allah Bless you buddy..Lots of prayers from Pakistan... 💔🙏
how to find this guy?
I admired the charisma of hassan, wishing these couple a lovely marriage. Mashallah this story is truly wonderful. The ending was too cute HAHA
it is obvious that they love each other very much. they both have strong personalities........i think they deserve their own show
Loved the patience and effort put into this. The tenacity and hope of the couple reminds us all that real love is powerful and carries us in its wake ❤
What a beautiful story. I hope someday there's a sequel. Peace.
“There is no remedy for love but to love more.”
True dat
Im glad they were able to get married. Sucks how expensive life is. At least family and friends are always there to help. Best wishes 🎉🎉❤
My heart breaks for these young Palestinians forced to live in refugee camps whilst their land was stolen from them. Hassan is an example of hard work, positivity, dealing with life’s challenges in difficult circumstances. Hassan’s mother is a sweetheart and she raised a good son. I think he’s fiancée should try and support her husband a bit more and try to be a bit more understanding and complain less, praise him for his efforts and one room fixed up is better than none as it boils down to money. Will her mum borrow them money, so they can start their life as a married couple or support them a little? Renting won’t leave much money if any left to save. May Allah subhan watallah grant all of you abundant blessings and make things easy for all of you. Ameen.
Someone at last is shedding some light on one of the most egregious injustices in the the history of humanity! My love! If I still have some!
May the almighty open there doors to prosperity and remove them from adversity also bless them with happiness Aameen
I can’t believe how some people struggle in life and we in the west, all we do is complain. 😢 my best to this couple.
best documentary ive seen this year, mashallah
Thanks for your comment, dear Mahamadou. We appreciate it. 🙌
@@aljazeeraenglish do you know how we can donate to them?
Yep I loved it also was so nice to see a couple really in love and not something depressing which the west always like to portray about other religions and country's. We are all moaning about cost of living crisis in the UK at the moment . Yet it's nothing compared to what these people and other countrys around the world are suffering everyday .we should take a leaf out of their book and be truly grateful for what we have here in the uk
Lovely story of commitment, endurance, support of community, joyful dancing, harsh life and sharing dreams between beautiful couple. The movie is taking us to the narrow and dark alleys of the refugee camp where Palestinians live for decades waiting for the better times which never came. The power of love between Hassan and Wafaa keeps them together trying to find their first home. Regardless how their surroundings are hard, they stick to each other’s and with patience and humor they are finding their way to the next day, to the next dream about their lives. The photography is beautiful, nothing sugarcoated, pure and artistic. Thank you for this film. All the best to all refugees on this Planet.
When you struggle to make something happen, you enjoy it more. In order to know the good, we need to know the bad. I hope Allah preserves this couples love!
I just love that happiness at there faces
ألف ألف ألف مبروك 🇵🇸🇵🇸✌🏼😍والله االمستعان على أمره 😍✌🏼
Does anyone know how to get in contact with Hassan or Wafaa? I'd like to buy them a house, or rather give them the money to build their home. They have such a beautiful story.
Anyone got their socials or anything at all?
I will keep on eye their social media names and I will pass them on to you.
May God bless u for that. I wish I could do that for them also.

They deserve all the best! Such determination to get their new life together had me amazed . Just imagine what these folks can do if they were given more opportunities in life. Wow.

An eye opener to the Palestinian in refugee camp. Where is the PLO to help refugees with money people denote . I admire the refugees to be able to laugh, smile, and dance.
This made me smile, laugh and sad at the same time. A shared human experience, no matter our backgrounds. Good luck to both of you.
I fascinating slice of life. Thanks for sharing.

A very sweet story, full of hope.
Masha Allah, lovely couple. May Allah bless them with happiness and ever growing love.
MashaAllah really a very beautiful love story may Almighty ALLAH bless hassen and wafaa a long happy pious life inshaAllah
The daily struggles, hardship and discrimination the people living in the camps face is heartbreaking. But they make the most out of what they have. A true inspiration to others, their strength and faith is a testament to their character ❤
Hassan all the best as you build your beautiful family
I LOVE YOU both so soooo much..... I feel like I have endured with you both over the past hour of watching this..... How you show the good and the bad was what made it more genuine for me. May God bless you and your family always xx
Awesome couple
the very end is pure comedy
Last few seconds of this video.. 😂😅...
Congratulation 🎉 from California ❤️
I wished she had listen to her husband and finish the house rather than renting. She was complaining about 4 stairs and ended up with 11 stairs. Very sad. Be a little more patient and finish the house even one room.❤
Yes my husband would not like me with an attitude like hers. Surprised her husband didn’t say anything
Congratulations ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 beautiful wedding with so much love. God bless.
Very touchy, should have a go fund fir the couple
Congratulation, God bless you.
The ending was brilliant. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love from Malaysia, it remind me of myself when I first got married
it fascinates me that they always say Rab-ul-Alameen instead of Allah....
luv from Pak!
Hope they still get along and stick together, may Allah help them and eas their struggles!
I laughed a lot btw...
Life is not easy for most of us neither in middle east nor in europe !
Well Said!! But elhamdullah for everything ❤
Could someone tell me what the style of dancing is called that the lovely couple do. It's so elegant and looks so lovely to watch. I'm from the UK and didn't even know that it existed . Wish the whole family a long and happy life . Nice to watch something that isn't depressing and showing a young couple that is really in love and starting their lives together instead of the stereotype that the west usually tries to portray about any other religion or country . Loved watching their little squabbles that every couple has no matter where in the world you are from or what language you speak 😊

it is the most amazing documentary, do they have CZcams channel ?
This particular case is interesting. Marriage is a beautiful thing, it helps so much to get married when the basic needs are readily available.
I would off love to help them finish there property, they are amazing people, having there grandparents , parents homes and land forces of it , by isrealis, now the children going up suffering , i hope one day they get there justice, and there peace and freedom. ❤
Being an American, I always thought the Jews were Gods special people and the good guys. That's how our churches teach and our news tells us. I've been watching your plight the last several days for hours on end. I'm glad I did because you all have opened my eyes into the real truth. I think it was the terrible bombings going on that forced me to begin to question the real truth. May God be with the Palestinian people. I am praying for you all. Stand tall my friends❤❤❤

To put things in perspective Shatila refugee camp is about 1 square kilometer with over 40,000 people living in that area.

MABROOK
Its crazy that we are all Muslim but where i live, our weddings are different. Mine was so simple, i was at home with my mother and sisters, the groom was with his father, his brother, my father, my brothers, two witnesses and the imam at masjid, they came to my mothers house, gave me the dowry which i gave to my parents who was struggling and i signed the marriage certificate and then went home with my husband to his house. No wedding dress, just borrowed a dress and scarf from my mother's cupboard, no flowers or presents, no guests, the entire thing was about and hour. Nothing fancy. We didn't eat or drink, we didn't have any cakes or snacks or food, there was no music or dancing, just a few quick pictures was taken, thats it. The next day was a normal day and we went to work.
Why? Is it not something you celebrate? Do you not celebrate love?
part 2 plz anyone

My heart bleeds for the circumstances they live in. The poverty, over crowded conditions. And then people tell these people that someone from America has a right to the home they were kicked out from whilst they have to live in unsanitary, damgerous places like this? The resentment and frustration is undeniable anyone in their position would feel nothing less 😢
Freedom to Palestinians 🇵🇸💔
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
He stole an apple , this is unacceptable
Wafa is so funny. Where’s a go fund me I need to keep sending them money
I think the wifey needs to be a bit more supportive and a lil bit more positive and be more optimistic if she's really willing to marry a man for the rest of her life 😊 if not, then they wont last long!! Marriage is about supporting each other and being appreciative in or at the simplest things and sharing everything possible together. This is how i view and my narrative of marriage 💍 Marriages isn't about having expensive things or having a big house or mansion its about being OK with what ever the table has offer us even though we might not like it but like i said its about accepting, appreciating and sharing even the smallest and simplest thing and if u can endure all of this,u'll always found love even at the worst, darkest and smallest place ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🤎 i'm not a love guru but i know that this is true and i wish the best for these 👫 couple for the coming days and nights 💝
