After a lovely evening at the Old Cataract Hotel we get up and have a fantastic breakfast. After breakfast we have to hike all of our luggage up to the main road because the entrance to the hotel was closed due to a bicycle race. We then stop at the Sudanese consulate general in Aswan to obtain our visas to cross the frontier into Sudan the next day. We then head south to Abu Simbel which is about a 4 hour drive. We stop at a rest stop along the way for a coffee and some snacks and feed some hungry dogs. After a long drive we arrive at our destination in Abu Simbel, the Kabarra Nubian guest house which is fantastic. After our arrival, we head over to the temples of Abu Simbel dedicated to Ramses II and his favorite wife Nefertari. These temples were moved from a lower elevation to their present location due to the flooding of Lake Nasser back in the 60s. After visiting the temples, we return to our guest house where we enjoy a lovely sunset evening having a glass of wine. We have a great dinner at the hotel and then turn in for our early morning departure for the frontier with Sudan.

The Sudan dress looks good on you. I never thought of Sudan as a tourist destination. I am looking forward to watch your Sudan videos.

I stayed at The Old Cataract Hotel a year ago on my trip to Egypt. I had the same reactions! A lot of wows! My room was right next to the Agatha Christie room. It was stunning! I am reliving my trip through your videos….Thank you!! 🩷

I highly recommend Tunisia. It's favorite destination for Europeans. You will love every thing in it and it's cheap. Every time I go there , I stay 1 month and I feel like I need to stay longer. What do you think guys?
