    I really wanted to see how you were adjusting the pressure. Guess I'll have to take your course this summer to expose the mystery 😁

      I intentionally left out certain aspects of the service to keep the video from being a training. Manufacturers would'nt want me training on CZcams.

    Minor thing : when testing your 2nd stage for leaks by air locking.... If you have an atomic octo also attached you will have air coming through when you suck in.

    • @scubatechkeylargo
      @scubatechkeylargo  Před 10 měsíci

      Atomic seat saving orifice will allow air to pass, however to perform air lock test you must remove 2nd stage with or without hose and block air inlet with thumb and inhale. This will pull seat saving orifice close and create air lock. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Angel- To be clear, I don't want to service my Atomic M1 myself, but since new water leaks into the 2nd stage when I'm completely inverted (head down, fins up). It doesn't leak at any other time, except fully inverted. I've had it rebuilt multiple times and no one can seem to fix the problem. Any thoughts? None of my other regulators have ever had this issue. Thanks in advance!

    • @scubatechkeylargo
      @scubatechkeylargo  Před rokem +1

      There's no fix for this issue, when inverted any 2nd stage can breathe wet, unfortunately it is the physics of inversion using a scuba reg underwater. The exhaust valve is now above the inhalation diaphragm when the bubbles exit, water can enter before the exhaust valve closes all the way. It's usually no more than a wet breathe versus a full flood. Not all regs will do this, the exhaust valve design is the culprit. Atomic excels in all other areas of performance, this might be its achilles heel. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

      Are there any brands that do not have this "Achilles heel"...the exhaust valve design? Such as Scubapro or Apeks?

      @scubatechkeylargo  Před 6 měsíci

      The Atomic swivel does not detach from the hose, if you need to remove it you need to replace the hose for a convention hose.

      Tha ultrasonic cleaner is commonly used in many industries, jewelry cleaning, dentistry are some examples. Available online Amazon or eBay.
      The parts kit are only available from manufacturers of the scuba regulator.

    Stop using metal picks! They make plastic oring picks that won't damage the sealing surfaces. Zero reason anyone should use a metal pick. I did an experiment a few years back, bought a bunch of regulators from eBay. Came from all over the US, 90% had scratches across sealing surfaces. The dive industry is all about how critical this life support equipment is, then everyone goes digging for orings like they are gold fillings with metal picks. You can buy 10 packs on Amazon now. And don't tell me how your so careful and don't scratch anything, use the correct tools.

      @scubatechkeylargo  Před rokem

      You are correct amateur techs, weekend warriors shouldn't use steel pics.
      38 years I've been working on regulators with steel and plastic pics I have more experience than your average tech. My training goes back to when techs were trained at the factory not in some conference room by sales reps. I'm doing just fine, thanks for your input.

      @@scubatechkeylargo Ah yes, the old "I've been doing this XX years, I'm fine" response, just order plastic picks and do it right. In many industries you get walked out the door for using the incorrect tools with the "I'll be careful" mentality. At least just fake it if you're going to make public CZcams videos.
