Martin Kove is actually trained in Karate and was one of the reasons he was chosen to play as John Kreese in the Karate Kid the other reasons being that he was a tough looking guy that fit the part and that he was already a seasoned actor
He didn't train seriously in Karate until after Karate Kid. He trained a little with Tak Kubota for a movie about the ancient King of Ireland Brian Boru (as far as I can tell that movie sadly never got made), but that was so he could use an axe in the movie, like Arnold trained in martial arts for Conan. He even mistakenly said in an interview that Kubota trained him in some "Taekwondo" when Kubota didn't teach Taekwondo. It wasn't until he was making this film that he started to train in Karate, first under the stunt coordinator and then under the coordinator's teacher, and at least one of his several black belts is honorary according to him.

She's from Superman 2, one single episode of Babylon 5 I watched last night on HBO Max, Night of the Comet, Beast master 2, and of course Conan the Destroyer.
I was wrong about Night of the Comet. That's the other 80's Era actress that was almost always a villain.

Erin is getting some skills knowing actor from other bad movies. Also, I know Ronny Cox was great in Total Recall, but I know him as the bad guy in Robocop. His arms grew so long as he fell out that window.

If I’m not mistaken I think he also played the president in the early 90’s Captain America movie as well.
Ronny Cox has been in so many great flicks. One of his best performances was in Deliverance, and that's a film everyone should watch at least once. Hands down the best acting of Burt Reynolds career as well (he even said that was the best role he ever did too).

Ronny Cox is a great actor, does an excellent job at playing the charismatic a-hole bad guy. Total Recall, Robocop, Stargate SG-1 are where I've seen him most, but he's done a lot of stuff in his career. And he's also a accomplished musician, which is his focus now. Being an actor and musician makes sense, since he was in Cop Rock, which we all know is the best (or maybe worst) of both worlds.
Love how in the 80s, all the school kids, or characters that were meant to be young in the film, were all played by 30 year olds, I was a kid in the 80s, they could have asked me 😅

I actually saw this movie at the Alamo Drafthouse without having seen it first and really enjoyed seeing it for the first time with a crowd. I love the theme song that plays during the training montage and the end credits.
The music was great.

Ronny Cox wasn't just in Total Recall. He was also the main heavy funding Kurtwood (bitches leave) Smith in Robocop. Ronny Cox has always played a solid bad guy. Two solid Verhoeven films. Another fun Verhoeven flick is Flesh + Blood with Rutger Hauer and Jennifer Jason Leigh running around full on nude much of the film.
He was also Captain Edward Jellico on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
He also plaued the good guy in the Beverly Hiils Cop franchise and the character Drew in Deliverance.

His name is Ronny Cox and he's really a splendid actor.
Ronny Cox was fantastic in DELIVERENCE, playing the guitar with the Banjo boy.
