- Not to be confused with the planet that Tasha Yar came from, Turkana was a key point in the Rebel Alliance's struggle against the Galactic Empire.

Yeah, there was a fair chunk of backstory to that intro scene from X-Wing. I was surprised too when I saw it.

Legends is so full of extremely fleshed out minor details. Just look at the backstories for the Death Star gunner who said "Stand by... stand by" and the Max Rebo band.
This is why I have a custom “ X-Wing Fighter “ glass display in my home 🏡 office 🥃🔥
See, Dave Filoni and the other showrunners of Star Wars: Rebels Season 4, THIS is how you show off the glorious first flight of the legendary X-Wing; same goes for breaking an awaited promise on making said Alt-universe first flight a love letter sequence to the P-51 Mustangs of Steven Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun". May you end up like Butch Hartman someday, author of SW apocrypha!
*ahem* That aside, another excellent work here, Mac and co..
These X Wing "Legends" campaign videos are great.
As always, your work is impeccable. If you’re open to suggestions for your next video, I would suggest the campaign against Overlord Ghorin where, after he tried to sell the Alliance a shipment of poisoned grain, they double crossed his double cross. …does that make it a quadruple cross?
The quality of these videos continue to impress and entertain me.
Those shots where the camera moves through the "freezed" battlefield are incredible
Frozen.
Grand Admiral Zaarin really had his work cut out for him when it came time to try and close the capability gap between the Imperial TIEs and the Rebellion.
YUSSSS!!!! you bloody legend Mac!
Absolutely wonderful work on this and all your videos!
Have you ever considered reading audio books? You've a gifted voice, i can almost hear in my mind reading the end of eternity. Keep it up! find pride in knowing you've a much better voice than many tv news anchors and radio presenters of whatever they are called.
I remember watching the intro for X-Wing as a young rebel. Even today I feel pumped listening to that intro music.
You’re doing the lord’s work covering all these 90s space sims. Keep going.
Unless there's some kind of retcon going on, Operation: Strike Fear was proposed by Grand Moff Tarkin and spearheaded by his flagship, the Imperial Star Destroyer Invincible. It's possible that this was changed, but that comes from Tour of Duty I: A New Ally (source is X-wing computer game).
And yes, I know this whole post is one very big nerdy statement about lore, that's why I acknowledged that there may have been a later retcon that I'm unaware of.
You are getting better and better. This was very nicely done.
Piett got Vader's admiration for a reason.
Its mainly because Vader thought the little tag the other Admirals made Piett wear marked 'Token Sane Person' was a compliment rather than the greatest insult they could think of.
The misunderstanding only got worse when they started forcing him to wear one that read 'Token Competent Officer' at the same time in an attempt to discredit him.
I know how the Empire found the Rebellion fleet…Garindan Long-Snoot.
ah mission 2 TD 3... memories
I honestly can't look at a Y-Wing without being reminded of that....mission.
@MacsLore
Funny story about that mission.
I knew I was dead after killing the corvette so I dumped everything I had into the engines and ran around just shooting things until the Interceptors eventually caught up with me. Eventually I realized that everything except for the freighter/dock, the frigate, and two Interceptors on my tail was dead, and my hull was just now turning red.
In short, Leroy Jenkins almost won.
I clicked so fast
Comical Villain's are Comical 👀
If Netflix can make a TV show out of Witcher, why can't Disney make a TV show out of this game? Just write in some proper characters and character development and this could've been an outline to a good show.
With each insurrectionist victory the Empire's plan to stop the coming threat of the Vong invasion crumbles. How many of these rebel leaders were advance agents sent to sow discord amongst their new target?
Yeah, I refuse to call it legends. As far as I'm concerned, everything after Disney bought the rights doesn't exist.
