She has really made Uganda proud
She makes Africa proud!🙌🏿
She makes everyone proud!!
I really love how Trevor's show is so inclusive and how it discusses different topics that involve different facets of life. It's didactic, enlightening and really creating awareness, the kind of awareness we need.
And he is an excellent interviewer, he listens and asks intelligent questions.
She has such a splendid take on so many issues, absolutely love this!🙌
Who else is here and is from Uganda
Me
The Amazon Rainforest often gets a lot of press, but the rainforest in Democratic Republic of Congo is just necessary for our oxygen. The Amazon Rainforest is one lung. The African/Congolese rainforest and Indonesia rainforest are the other lung.
If anything China should be the center of attention, those commies emit more pollution than any other country. Yet no one wants to hold them accountable apparently 🤷♂️
@@UserRobot215 It's a nice sentiment. Please watch the interview and try to process what she says. China is responsible for current emissions, but when it comes to historical emissions or emissions per capita, US stands on top.
I was so stoked to see Vanessa pop up in my daily show feed. I have been following her for a while and she is so brilliant and she gives me so much hope. I used to be more engaged in the climate conversation when I was younger but felt super discouraged and ridiculed by society. Now with Vanessa and the other youth who are engaging the world again, I feel there is a momentum, a reason for hope for real change. More power to you Vanessa!
She's so knowledgeable.
🇺🇬 proud of you Nakate

I love the way she speaks. She's knowledgeable and inspiring
*people really dont understand how this is impressive, the way she conducts her self is even better than most presidents, go girl the future is women*
I am not surprised at all. Africa is home to many many people who are intelligent and well-spoken. The problem is, when they are not on camera, most of them devolve into incoherent gibberish and making bad choices, because they want to *fit in* with their tribe. And THAT - the negative part - is what much of Mainstream Media focuses on.
@@ChineduOpara No they are just as smart off of camera. If they didnt worship a false wijesus they would uncolonize their brains and become the superpower in the most resourceful continent on the planet. The West chooses to showcase African tribalism on purpose even thought many are modernized. Its anAgenda!!
Thank you for having Vanessa Nakate on the show and especially thank you to you, Vanessa, for explaining again and again so that many more people can hear and understand your thoughts! I am so excited to read your book!
Yes Vanessa thank you for making us 🇺🇬 Ugandans very proud and Africs at large keep shining
As a Ugandan and an African, I'm so proud of you Vanessa. Keep on keeping on
They cropped her out of the pics? That is so offensive & c'mon, this is 2021, we need to at least get that stuff right, at least acknowledge the people there doing the work.
the AP did it
What a well-spoken and thoughtful young woman! Brilliant ideas, which should be addressed immediately! CHEERS!!!👌🏾🇹🇹
We are proud of you (Uganda, Africa) This was beautifully articulated Vanessa. Thank you for the work you are doing. We are better off for it.
Trevor thanks for elevating this issue from the Africa perspective.
In Africa climate change isn't a future but it's our current status, the unpredictable droughts.
Just ordered her book.
Trevor Noah has never forgotten his roots. Sooo proud of you son😍 👏👏👏. Solar energy!
She is an amazing young lady.
Vanessa is such an inspiration. I'll keep following her

We need to make a future possible for our children and grandchildren

Wow Climate Change activists all around the world. I hope we'll see more and more make their voices heard. Cuz this is really an important issue and it amazes me that some of the older people just don't see that way.

🇺🇬👏👏👏proud of you Vanessa well said girl...
Nakate❤️
I was just about to ask about this for a while. What happens with developing countries who's Main source of income is that of oil or coal? Take Trinidad for example. I know for a fact that oil is there main natural resource I feel like in those cases what they need to do is yes give them a grant to help them transition to more renewable energy but also find another source of income like your tourism or here in Jamaica your food. you grow your food and the food itself is a renewable resource. But if the climate change is going on that would affect it majorly such as drought or even hurricane just destroy the crops. It's a complicated issue but I think something along those lines along with the grants would help as well
- This is my conflict in my thoughts for Guyana. Finally a chance to have some money, but climate change…..
I think we can lessen use at the same time as getting some income
Go gal
Ugandan she has been doing it solo can imagine in Uganda where thrre is not attention I follow her I'm happy for her nyabo
Impressive young lady.
To say "I love you" one must know first how to say the "I".
👀
I, I, I (etc.) *BBM shaking my head emoji*.
People like this make me proud of being a Ugandan🇺🇬🇺🇬
I saw the name & I clicked so fast. My sister from 🇺🇬
Nakate my late mothers name...🥰
very intelligent woman
As African nations develop, they will continue to use more fossil fuels so they cannot and should not be ignored. It's going to be difficult to tell the people of these nations to move away from fossil fuels without any meaningful alternative available to them. They see how fossil fuels have transformed other countries and naturally will want to replicate that success. The only solution is to make alternatives like solar more practical and feasible.
Well said. It's almost unfair how developing countries are now expected to change practices that other nations used to become super powers. After they have used, abused and taken wealth from countries like Uganda, they now expect these countries to walk the straight and narrow and bear the brunt of the cost of climate change adaptation.
Smart woman.
she is stating many serious truths that don't get enough airtime
Uganda is beautiful! Come invest in Africa!
#UgandaIsBleeding
Let's put solar panels on every home, business and covered parking rooftop and switch to electric vehicles making nearly everything we do solar powered while completely decentralizing our power supply and empowering everyone as power generation owners.
Solar power is CHEAPER and electric vehicles are soon to be CHEAPER to make and already are considerably CHEAPER to maintain and operate, especially if charged from your own solar power.
A 3-5 year ROI (return on investment) for a solar array that will generate power for decades is a no-brainer and the panels can even be made locally too.

Money for Education, not war
Wakanda forever!✊🏿
The South Pacific should be at the center of climate talks
Interesting piece. Was surprised the discussion indicated Africa only contributes 3% of carbon emissions when they are the leader in global deforestation which is equally important given trees cool the climate and consume carbon. Africa does need to be a partner in change.
Trevor is making it sounds as if you can speak freely in africa...you can even insult president in his face in kenya and walk unharmed, same with many places, like Ghana, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and many places...Africa is a continent with 55 countries and many are free and have that freedom of speach...though Uganda doesn't but he should be specific
He said specifically Uganda.
Why are The Daily Show videos always so quiet?
They just are. Quite nice actually not to be yelled at.
@@edricaldones9639 Adjust your volume? I have mine all the way up and they're still too quiet.
I now curious about my white friendships
Trevor will always find ways to punch up into political rhetoric
she was cut out of the picture like africa do not exist.
Sadly Africa won't be at the center, because what will be are false promises made by industrial lobbies who claim to protect jobs and interests, so change must happen, according to them, without costing them. And countries can't lose competitive edge, so only will change, when others change more.
All big companies have know for a long time, lied about it and must accept the consequences; entrepreneurial risk should mean, the worst offenders should be out of business and all funding go to green activists and start ups!
Because we only win, when everybody wins! Africa only can be helped when we think globally and glocally.
She's fighting for climate change and Racism too activism
Is Trevor wearing a hat or is that his hare ?
only 3%, lol...that sounds like their economic growth for 100 years. Its hard to emit anything when your country owns the least amount of machinery by comparison. So what you are really saying is that Africa should be least worried and our focus should be at home...hmmm
We have other’s fight don’t do that. Distraction.
Yeah...because Alkebulan (to name of Africa is colonialist) produces close to nothing...while China only emits about 7 tons per capita...while theUSA emits about 15 tons...and China is the world's workbench.
He bathong 😳! Guys when You speak of Africa be very careful not to speak for all of us especially when we are pleading ignorance to things we do not know about, because we essentially cannot relate so we cannot be called ignorant.
Forgive my ramblings, those Cherry Colts right 🌬️🍒😏 🙄.
Trevor, where Africa is allegedly the largest producer of fossil fuels, what makes President Museveni imagine condemnation instead of the probability of Africa being the largest producer of Green Energy?
Also do not forget that South Africa mastered Freedom of Speech. Perhaps we need to keep demonstrating this Human Right.
Get this woman on the next Avatar movie, she is authentic.

Do not make us pull the Historical Guilt Card on you 👆.
Just a reminder to everyone here that the Democrats lost this country last night 🤗
Which one?
bruhbutwhytho lol you’re asking me which country?
@@gerthmcnally2786 the USA or Uganda, I don't see how losing Virginia means losing the country so I was wondering if you were talking about Uganda.
bruhbutwhytho you don’t see how losing the governorship, lt gov, attorney general, and legislature of a deep blue state doesn’t indicate that the Dems have lost the country? Maybe you should read a bit more
@@gerthmcnally2786 maybe you should consider that the republican party is shrinking and large red states are turning blue
Shut down AFRICOM
Activists!!!? What a joke🤣
What do you mean?
And yet there she is and here you are🤷🏾♀️
The market will be very favorable now due to the rapid growth of Bitcoin which is $61k, the rich won’t disclose it so Don’t be fooled, it’s right time to invest, Christmas is on the way🌲
Despite the country’s dip in to crypto my life has completely changed since I started with $7,000 and now I earn $29,450 every 11 days.
That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Gerald
Oh hey. Speaking of climate change. Crypto uses enough power to light up most third world countries. Just sayin
